I don't know if it's appropriate or not, but my fondest memory is seeing Eddie live. He's still the only person I've seen (intentionally) blade on a house show or indy show in person. The fact that he put that level of effort into a house show match in the middle of January way up in Maine was incredible to me.
That, and WM XX.
RIP Eddie, we all miss you.

Well that means it's been two years for my La Parka avatar. Sucks it's associated with that.
I found that cool picture and put it up and was happy because not many La Parka pictures are very good. After i edited it, i went to the WWE section and saw the news.
My happiness for such a little insignifcant thing was quickly replaced by the sadness of a guy i've been watching since i was 7 years old passing away far to early. Still saddens me to this day.

I remember about thinking about his World Title match and how he could have possibly won the World title because it said Batista was injured on wwe.com. But then I went to wwe.com and on the bottom it said Vince and Chavo were having a press confrence on Eddie's death. Then on the front page it said "Eddie Guerrero 1967-2005. I was shocked.
Im reading his autobiography right now, he seems like a really nice guy who regrets all his mistakes. What made me sad was that he was talking about all of the wrestlers who died young.

So then normal people like myself can't get into heaven? That sucks. I better go slay a dragon or something real quick. Thanks for pissing all over what I wrote. Good job. I wasn't really trying to dump on you too much. What you said just didn't make any sense to me, so I was hoping my remarks would get you to clarify what you meant. I admit that the slaying the dragon part came off as snarky, so I will say sorry for that. I get that your trying to be poetic but I guess it was lost on me. If it made sense to someone else please drop the knowledge on me.

I read his autobiography once, and cried. It was one of those "he did so much to right all his wrongs..... and then he died" type of stories. Later on tonight, I'm gonna watch the feature off his DVD, and maybe one or two of his matches. Probably on my laptop during ECW. Speaking of ECW, I hope they do a small tribute to him tonight.

Like most on this board I have watched Eddie since the days of wcw. But back then I was never a big fan of his. It probably had something to do with the fact that most of the time he was a heel and I was 15. But I did follow his first feud with rey mysterio and I have always liked his 97 match with rey. When Eddie was a heel he was a very good heel, very believable. Like, when he paired up with chyna in 2000-1, it was very easy to sympathize with chyna because he played his role so well. It really wasn't until 2004 when I really began to like him as a person. Just in case I get flamed or what ever, i know he played a character in each of the earlier event I mentioned. The only reason why I mention them is to show how his early roles effected me as well. BUt anyway, it wasn't until 2004 when information on his real life came out that I really took to him, not only as a wrestler but a human being. I remember watching wrestlemania 20 and earlier in the show seeing him talk to Chris Benoit. It was a great segment that paid off in a very emotional matter. It would be awesome if all pay-per-views could end like that. His match with Kurt Angle that same night was awesome and funny. out side of the above mentioned match, my favorite memory of Eddie was one of his matches with Rey(?). The match ended when rey out smarted him by making the ref believe that Eddie was using a foriegn object. Rey through the object at eddie and eddie covered it to hide it from the ref. Sorry, if the last is a little off, but that what pops into mind when ever I think of Eddie lying, cheating, and stealing. Eddie was a great wrestler and a great person. Whether he was a heel or a face he made you believe. Thank you Eddie. Rest in Peace

It was pre-dominick rey-eddie match. Just in case there is any confusion.

This early promo from this match is from Eddy's lie-cheat-steal, Los Guerreros heel era. Right after viciously smashing Tajiri's face through a car windshield. Keep in mind, the guy was a heel at the time.

It is hard to put into words of how hard it struck me when he passed away. I remember asking my Mom about 3 days before it happened if she would get me tickets to the Supershow in Minneapolis for my birthday. Luckily, she said no. I remember spending my birthday (November 14th), trying to watch the tribute show, and I couldn't bring myself to do so. I ended up breaking down on a day in which I should have been celebrating. Eddie showed me a lot. I watched his DVD about 2 weeks before his death, and it hit me that anyone is able to overcome anything as long as they put there mind to it. He is also the reason that I won't get involved with Alcohol or hard liquor.
I am at least happy to say that I've seen him live before, however he didn't do much. It was my first WWE Televised show and it was the Smackdown episode before Judgment Day of 2005. It was his famous promo in which he came out, and just looked at Rey's mask. He didn't say a word and just left. I was pissed that night that I didn't get to see him wrestle or at least say something, but now I look back and think about how lucky I was to even have the chance to see him.
You will be missed. Thank You.

Well, then it's been about 2 years since I started re-watching wrestling. My friends and I, all of whom watched in the late 90s, happen to catch the Raw tribute and sat silently watching. And then I realized how much I missed it.

I feel like he's been gone for so much longer than 2 years. I don't know, maybe it's because of all the tragedy that's struck the business since then, or maybe I just miss him so much that it feels like forever since I've seen him.
Thank you, Eddie. In many ways, I still feel lost as a fan without you here.

I remember always loving the mullet, then I thought he looked incredibly stupid without it, then I got used to it and then I realized that it made him look like a viable main eventer. I mean when's the last time a MULLET won the WWE title? Now when I see Eddie with the mullet i cringe. RIP Latino Heat.

I've been sitting here, just kinda staring at the computer thinking of what to say. Eddie was a wrestler, one of the few, who you could truly get emotionally invested in his character, in his work, and as a person. I remember watching him win the belt at NWO 04. It was one of my favourite moments ever, and still is. Nothing could have wiped the smile of my face that night. And then WM XX, the hug with Benoit to close it out, I was in tears. Never had anything in wrestling been so real and emotional for me. I saw Eddie live in Winnipeg when he was doing the El Gran Luchadore thing to buld to the cage match with JBL. It was my 2nd time seeing him, the first being when he was Tag/US champ. I always had tremedous respect for Eddie for everything he went through. I cried when I read he was gone, and I cried during the tribute shows and HOF Induction. I miss Eddie Guerrero. Great Wrestler, Great Performer, but most of all Great Human Being. RIP Eddie, you will always be missed

I think one of the last times I was truely, truely, TRUELY shocked at someone winning the WWE title, it was when Eddie won against Brock Lesnar. Eddie was really great.
RIP Eddie.

I find it so hard to believe he passed. By watching him you'd think he would be one of those guys that would be around FOREVER. 20 years from now,he would still continue to mix it up. I would never think he's die as young as he did. It's a shame,he's gone. But I know he's alright,up their. By far THE best pound for pound wrestler the world has seen. RIP Eddie. We all miss you.
