Sid wasn't all bad on promos so long as they were taped. If he had to do something live, he always f'd it up. His ability to not only keep a straight face but continuing to cut an in-character promo to the Shockmaster in the wake of the most infamous moment in wrestling history says otherwise. He wasn't a great natural promo but the fact that he was the first wrestler to say ANYTHING while that farce was being processed is quite overlooked.

There's a clip, I can't remember where from. But it's Ace Steel, the guy who trained both a Punk and Cabana. And he's talking about his first impressions, about how he was really excited about Cabana because he had played football at school, was an athlete and knew how to move. However, Punk was none of these things. He didn't know how to move, his joints were stiff. There's an analogy he used I can't remember, but basically the point he was making was that Punk was an athlete but made it because of his hard work, charisma and storytelling. Those don't count in UFC. The quote was thay Punk had lead in his ass, which is my favorite description of a sub-par athlete ever.

And since we're speaking on this Not that I'd wish personal injury on anyone, but man, if THAT was the moment he tore his quad...

It was a bust. A bust can be something that was a disappointment, in fact, that's what I think of when I hear the term bust (well, boobies too). It sucks, but sometimes life happens and you end up being a bust. Len Bias is still one of the biggest busts in NBA History and he never played a second. I’m just happy you didn’t use Greg Oden as an example Markelle Fultz would have been the best current example, complete with mysterious "shoulder injury" that couldn't be proven or explained.

My favorite part of THAT promo is when Taker talks about Paul Bearer talking with a bike shop owner about getting a quality ride for Show. Because underneath his spooky demeanor, Bearer is a sage rider and really knows his shit.

Molly has always struck me as the most natural face of any woman I've seen in wrestling and would have FLOURISHED in the early-mid 80s (think Wendi Richter level, minimum). She came into wrestling when being a goody two-shoes couldn't have been more despised, and never reached her full potential as a fan favorite because of it. Persona-wise, she was at least 12 years too late.
Her look: naturally curvy, with a large butt and wide hips, was also considered taboo during her era. In that regard, she was about 12 years too early. To the poster who mentioned how much slimmer she became after wrestling and wondered/hoped it wasn't a coincidence; I doubt it. She became so paranoid and ashamed of the "big butt" storyline that she tried to get it taken off her Wikipedia page (just check the "Talk" section for the archives; it became a mess).
She was a fantastic wrestler who never really showed her full arsenal while in WWE as she was mostly a heel and was far more grounded than she was in WCW. She was very much capable of anything anyone else could do at the time on the roster.
She was just a person who seemed to be in the right place but the wrong time for the bulk of her run.

From what I can tell from Sega via consoles that had their own games: -Master System: Good and possibly more powerful than the NES, but in the US had too little chance. -Genesis: Good competitor and one of two contenders for their best console. -Sega CD: Neat idea but the tech was too early to be truly worthwhile. -32X: Genesis' life support unit. Might have done better if not so close to... -Sega Saturn: Apparently was too hard to develop for, and too many burned bridges of the past. Poor Sanshiro-san. -Dreamcast: The other contender for Sega's best console, however the sins of the past plus no DVD support prevented it from being a true success. That's how I see it anyway. This is incredibly on point. Can we call sega the WCW of console manufacturing? They had Nintendo dead to rights in 92-94 and still f***ed it all up. It didn't help that Donkey Kong Country looked vastly more impressive than anything released on Sega CD and 32X.

Most intimidating wrestler ever. He looked like Marvel's Sabertooth without the ridiculous costume.

Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but the saving grace of David Flair is that he was always treated as short of a sideshow gimmick in WCW; he was never a legitimate wrestler, he was a goofball who happened to be Ric Flair's son. Now, of course, that involves me remembering later day WCW, so I may be mistaken. IIRC he debuted as a babyface wrestling Bischoff (?) as part of an angle and was so bad most of us fans at the time thought he was being portrayed as a scrub only to surprise opponents by going from a 1 to perhaps a 4 or 5. There was a legit hope that this wasn't all there was to see from David Flair.

Stevie Ray also referred to his brother as the greatest athlete in the history of wrestling, which is my choice for most egregious. Booker T was a very good athlete but nowhere near the top 20, let alone number 1.
I think Bruce Prichard is utterly full of it 75% of the time and never has a bad word to say about Triple H. He's had his fair share of BS too.

Having watched some classic Donald shorts recently, it's quite strange at how much humor is derived from his ass. I mean, did Uncle Walt have some sort of fetish? Damn near every episode draws some sort of attention to Donald's ample tuchus.

Rude's pose in that preview shot looks like a post-match victory pose in the first 2 SF3 games.

HOW is Philly losing to a Celtics team that basically is arguably less talented than the Wizards. I can see how last year's Boston squad was less talented than the Wizards, but a healthy Boston squad is the most talented team in the East with a top tier coach and GM. Even without Irving and Hayward their young talent doesn't need to take a backseat to anybody's. Speaking of, Ben Simmons needs to prove he's worthy of Penny Hardaway hype before people start blowing smoke about how he's the next Magic Johnson. Ironically if Philly selected Tatum Ben's weaknesses wouldn't be anywhere near as glaring as an offensive talent.

OH MY GOD!!! THIS GAME!!! After the turnover and basket at the end of regulation I was YES!!!ing like Daniel Bryan on crack. Then Belinelli hit that basket and it was a nut shot. Many teams would have wilted there but these Celtics don't quit! And Horford at the end! Did any other Celtics fans hear the late, great Johnny Most scream "HORFORD STOLE THE BALL!!!" at the End? And I love the shot at WEEI's Lou Merloni at the interview. Average Al is dead!!! LONG LIVE PLAYOFF AL!!! I LOVE THIS F***ING TEAM!!! Lou Merloni is a never was, and the radio coverage for the Celtics is virtually non-existent now that Michael Holley isn't around any more.
