I LOVED his random verbal interactions with the fans while he wrestled, with "my bad!" and "should I go get him?" It added such a fun dimension to his gimmick. I would have loved it if and Damien Sandow teamed up and Sandow taught him to ask the crowd increasingly over-grammaticized questions, would have been an absolute riot.

It isn't Cesaro, that is the real problem. If he had half of Cesaro's talent and was half as over as Cesaro was at last year's Wrestlemania, it'd be fine. The fact Cesaro's in no man's land while Reigns is getting this superhuman push is what makes things ridiculous. One lost all of his momentum while the other was given the rub in every way imaginable.

So, this is basically asking us what would happen if Reigns actually lived up to his push, which is arguably the most transparent in WWE history.
Usually, the push occurs when the wrestler in question already shows signs of great talent, connection with the crowd, steadily growing momentum, etc.
0-3.

"Wow, they're actually giving the majority of the crowd what they want to see."
Which means, combined with the fact it's Reigns that would suffer from this, that there's no damn way it'll ever be considered.

Quick! Someone tell Flair to tuck his boner back in his trunks. 4/10 on the Moolah Scale.

Goldberg did not start his career at the top of the card. He worked his way up even if he did have the Streak. Another thing to note is Goldberg was the fan favorite and the man the arenas were chanting for. I know it didn't happen often but WCW actually booked the fan favorite over the NWO. It's not at all a fair comparison. While he does still get a middling pop nobody is chanting for Reigns in segments he aint in. Goldberg was also a legitimately amazing, freakish athlete who could jackhammer guys like Show and Reese with ease. Just in terms of talent it's like comparing prime Rey Mysterio Jr. to Ciclope.

Say whatever you want to about NEWZ and all that...Meltzer's a must-read when it comes to columns like these. Captivating article; totally spot-on.
The fact that a talent like Bryan, who's more uniformly over with the fans as a face since the Rock, is being and has been marginalized and sabotaged for such a thoroughly mediocre, unspectacular performer like Reigns continues to be utterly baffling.

Yeah I know like a zillion threads exist on this and how his gimmick sucked and he was a failed attempt to recreate Hulk Hogan and how he brought nothing to the table, etc. But, did anyone else notice how uncomfortable Lex always looked in the ring during his "Made in the USA" run? Not that Lex was ever exactly Bret Hart in the first place (FACT), but compare him to how he looked just a year or two before in WCW. Sometimes in the WWF ring he looks like he doesn't know where he is or what to do next, so he just fills the gaps with punching... punching... more punching. He's constantly giving the sign for the Torture Rack, even before he started using the "Rebel Rack" in WWF, and I don't think he even signed for it that much in WCW when that was his finisher. I attribute it to the fact that Lex wasn't nearly as comfortable in the role of the babyface. What he wanted to do was walk out grinning like a douche and jiggle his pectorals, but Vince wanted him to be a Ken doll instead. Discuss or not. I don't even care. *drops mic* *leaves thread* *instead of picking mic back up, yells really loud from a seated position 50 feet away from it and hopes it gets through* He was a better heel than a face...always was. Leaves mic for someone else to do something with.

The mic being dropped isn't the true story here, guys. Rather, the mic gained sentience through a rift in the space-time continuum, realized how poorly the arguments against Bret were construed, and said "screw this noise" before telekinetically removing itself from its owner's grasp.

Things were going great for WCW until Bret showed up. FACT. Things were going alright in 90-92 WWE. FACT Bret got to WCW and things went downhill. FACT Bret lead the WWF from 93-97 when things were at its lowest. FACT Blame whoever you want but to not point a finger at Bret Hart is just wrong. That's right! It's 100% Bret's fault that the shine was taken off wrestling by the drug and steroid scandals erupting before he got near the top and their crooked doctor of choice naming names, destroying Hulk Hogan's clean and wholesome superman image, heck, Bret likely injected Hulk Hogan himself to frame the Hulkster. It's Bret's fault that Vince pissed away a tonne of money on the WBF and could no longer afford to keep on veteran talents and totally Bret's fault that Warrior underperformed, Ric Flair underperformed and the company was on the downward slide. It's 100% Bret's fault that the WWF's Memphis style booking drove the audience away and that people got tired of WWF programming being largely jobber squash matches featuring 'name' talents like the Smoking Gunns and Damien Demento. Buyrates were declining before Bret got near the top of the card so yeah, that's all on Bret, not sure how, but it must be true because it looks that way if you ignore EVERYTHING going on while he was at the company. It's totally 100% Bret's fault that WCW completely ****ed up Sting's big moment at Starrcade 1997 and had no plans other than more NWO. Bret's fault that Hogan was impossible to book because of creative control leading to disasters like the fingerpoke of doom and Bret's fault that Bischoff was giving Hogan the power of veto over other people's booking. Bret was entirely to blame for the fact that they didn't use him for anything major and kept flipping him from face to heel until he lost all of the momentum he came into the company with. It's Bret's fault that Bischoff spent money like there's no tomorrow, making WCW incredibly topheavy and then tried to right the ship by destroying the undercard and giving away WWF results. Bret was clearly a huge fan of Kevin Nash as he got on so famously with the Kliq and must have worked to get him the head booker's role, and he was a massive fan of the edgy for the sake of edgy and often nonsensical WWF booking spearheaded by Vince Russo so I'm sure he personally brought him into WCW where he went on to obliterate the leftover goodwill from the 1996-97 period and turn the cruiserweight division into a joke. I also heard Bret was the guy who put Jamie Kellner in charge of TNT, they were going to go with a wrestling fan but Bret talked them out of it just because he could. Damn that Bret, damn him to heck. Got dayum. This should go in the dictionary as an example for the word "rebuttal."

Any references to Sloth=instant entertainment.

I like the "They're jealous" option. Shows how completely out of the loop WWE is. Sadly, I wouldn't put it past some of the contrarians on this board to explain how that's the reason we don't like him. This company...oh man, this company...

I like the darker type games. Games darker in story and appearance. Brightly coloured games don't appeal to me as much. You should definitely try Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem for the GameCube, or Wii if you have one that plays GC games. That game was incredible; brilliant storytelling mixed in with plenty of Lovecraft influence.

Jesus. It's crazy to imagine that Vince has a better body than damn near everyone on his roster. Although I doubt all of that is legal and without steroids and obviously some photoshop on this cover, that dude's build is insane. It reminds me of what Austin said in his documentary when he didn't like how Vince had a better body than him. Someone needs to burn that stupid cleavage tank top. Dude's been wearing it for almost 20 years.

I'll admit...
I thought the hit dog cart bit was quite funny. The green slime from Double Dare, not so much.
I think most people prefer his original, darker character in the Shield as opposed to the nutty off-kilter one we have today, but after a while I realized you can only go so far with a psychotic, violent sociopath gimmick and keep things PG. Much as I wish it didn't, that character's shelf life was limited from the beginning. I always thought the less you know about certain characters, the more interesting they are, and Ambrose fits that bill.

"The Three Stooges"
So terrible and an affront to both wrestling fans and the legends they were based on.
