Semi-OT, but Backlund's match against young heel Hogan is a hidden gem. Backlund is easily, pound for pound, among the strongest athletes (not just wrestlers) I've ever seen, and practically dead lifted Hogan and carried him on his shoulders before setting him on a set of turnbuckles IIRC. Just ridiculous.

Tensai's killed the crowd dead, along with The Lord Tensai gimmick. There was one impromptu match of his in Raw where his music hit as a mystery opponent and the audience let out a VERY loud groan. I wish I knew which one it was.

Roman saying he's equal to Lesnar in athleticism is like Disco Inferno saying he's equal to Scott Norton in brute strength or Meng in legit toughness. Or Nash saying he's a better Lucha wrestler than Mysterio. I got to that line and just couldn't take anything seriously after that one.

I lot of his "LOVE" happened to coincide with the fact that he wasn't Batista as HE was on his way to being forced down the crowd's throats during the Rumble 2014-Wrestlemania run.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over again and expecting a different result.

We should really revise our definition of "fun" around here. "DAMMIT, SHOVING UNSUSPECTING FULLY CLOTHED PEOPLE INTO SWIMMING POOLS IS WHAT FUN'S ALL ABOUT!"

I see actually see this as a good thing, WWE needed a mini-reset after the period when any Swagger or Del Rio could be a world champion. Like it's already been pointed out star-making moments for guys that have already been world champion (multiple times in Bryan's case) never seemed right to me. What makes this even more amusing in context is how Reigns is less talented than Swagger and especially Del Rio.

I used to love his random wig-outs and "DEEEEHHHHHHHHHH!"s, complete with how he'd slap himself in the face and how JR always bellowed, "SHAMROCK HAS SNAPPED AGAIN!"
I always wished Ross would mix it up some, like saying "SHAMROCK HAS SNAPPED ONCE MORE!" or "AGAIN...SHAMROCK HAS SNAPPED...again."

I'm not sure why, as a fan, I'm expected to cheer for him. He has a cool look which would have been a huge drawing factor in the late 90s when brooding antihero badasses were a huge "thing", but it's 2015 and the fact is he just isn't anything special beyond that.
What is his character? What does he stand for? What is his personality? How was he the "leader of the Shield," since Cole started hammering that point home later in their run? Is he capable of any facial expressions aside from the Akira Toriyama smirk (tm)?
If the guy had a bald spot he'd be a midcarder at best. Beyond his "look" I still don't see what's supposed to be so indicative of his current ability or "great potential."

I don't think he's been in touch since the late 80s. He's mostly backed ass-backwards into hot angles or been fortunate enough to have talent that got over in spite of his ideas (Austin, Rock, Foley, Cesaro and his horrible yodeling gimmick, etc).
Even as a kid I knew that cornball super patriot Lex Luger was utter tripe and about 10 years past its expiration date.

Gorrilla and Jesse. The best commentary pairing ever. Their chemistry was absolutely phenomenal, and made any match seem like a legitimate, athletic competition while also sprinkling in doses of humor on the side. I can watch any show/PPV match with them and be thoroughly entertained.

WCW's tape machines, which always ran without fail during commercial breaks, as a means of informing us fans if anything significant occurred.
I'm totally not joking on that one by the way. I loved little touches like that.

Bob Holly did a good write up of Brawl for All in his book. The things that stuck out for me: -- The WWF paid Williams the winner's prize before it even started, because JR was so convinced he was going to destroy everyone. Dr Death was then in line to work a program with Austin. -- Steve Blackman was fully prepared to unleash his martial arts on the other competitors, asking if it was legal to kick out guys' knees. -- JR was the one who helped talk Bart into an unwinnable fight with Butterbean, out of spite for knocking out "his boy." "Good Ol' JR" is such a petty little b!tch. I have no doubt whatsoever that he'd stoop to this sort of level. As great of an announcer as he could be at times, everything else about him has always come across as phony.

I'd argue he's the most talented big man on the roster.
I'd really like to see some kind of supernatural past linked to he and Rowan. They should be treated like current generation Taker and Kane, but not with all the smoke and mirror theatrics; even if it's in subtle ways, like giving them insane resiliency to physical punishment for example. They both have the look and ability to pull it off.

Stevie Ray was a lot like Scott Steiner in that he was so bad at times it became unintentionally hilarious/meme worthy. He is/was a living legend on the incomparable (and still around, I believe) ddtdigest.com, which had/has the best WCW recaps around.
I still love "fruit booty."

If he had actually been booked to eke out one win against Rusev, I would totally agree. Heck, based on skills and physical attributes alone he's a more convincing opponent than throwing Triple H against him 3 times. Damn, Swagger's underutilized.

They should build a time machine and have Reigns go over clean over prime Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, and Goldberg. Gotta make him look str...well, you know.

Who the f*** is Pruce Pritchard? Brother Love. A televangelist gimmick. Original manager of the Undertaker. It's actually Bruce, not Pruce. And man, was his character useless and out of place. I've always thought the Brother Love gimmick was the very first instance of Vince amusing himself with on-air characters and skits regardless of whether the crowd liked it or not.
