Looking at these Miami "specialists", I don't think a single one of them are important to that team.
What's Mike Bibby's role? To brick shots and bring the ball up a time or two when it's not in Wade or LeBron's hands?
How about Joel Anthony? Commit fouls, block a shot here and there, and be an offensive black hole?
Juwan Howard? Come in every now and then and cheap shot somebody? That's pretty much all I've seen him do the last 3 or so years.
Mike Miller? Shoot 3's, sometimes well, sometimes not well.
Udonis Haslem? Outside of the Big 3, he's the most important guy they have.
Big Z? He wears that suit damn well!
Erick Dampier? His role is what it should have been in Dallas. Sit on his ass and collect dust. That's pretty much all he's good at.
James Jones and Eddie House? Do they even exist anymore? If they do, just see Mike Miller for their role.
Mario Chalmers? Backs up a horrible point guard and then also rarely actually brings the ball up and sets the offense.
Magloire? If he has a role, it's probably to pick up LeBron's dry cleaning or something.
My point is, find any old player in the league and stick them on this team and they would be where they are now. None of these Heat "specialists" mean anything in the big picture in my eyes. Why do you think they rotated through about 5 different starting centers through the season? Because it doesn't matter who's there. Dampier was out there providing his usual brand of suck and it didn't make any difference.
Some of them are decent players, I'm not saying they all suck. I'm saying that to this particular team, they don't matter.

I think Andy will win because of the convenience of him already having a WWE developmental deal and time spent in FCW.

There's a lot about them that's mediocre. Anyone on that roster past Wade, LeBron, and Bosh is mediocre or worse. Hell, some of them would love to even be mediocre (Erick Dampier). But when you have 3 guys like that, throwing in a few mediocre players around them is good enough. Mario Chalmers having 12 points for them would be like a 2nd option on another team having 25. There's just not much expected or required out of anyone else. And who on the Mavs roster is not mediocre as hell besides Dirk?? Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, Shawn Marion, Tyson Chandler, Caron Butler when he's around.

I remember people saying the predictions for 70 wins were preposterous, but I'd be interested to see what would happen if you put this now jelled and cohesive Heat team from this month on the floor back in October. That 9-8 start wouldn't be 9-8. Haslem and Miller would have been around all season to relieve the bench so guys like Big Z and Eddie House wouldn't have been filling in critical minutes. Some of those hideous losses would have never occurred. They wouldn't have lost to every "elite" team they played until the turn of the calendar. Maybe not 70, but if this was the Heat that was rolled out for opening night in Boston, I don't doubt they'd be at 67 or 68 wins. They had some problems gelling at first, and of course they do have weaknesses, but there's nothing mediocre about this team. And their record shows it. I don't care what he provides on offense, which in this series hasn't been all that much, but Jason Terry should have been on the bench in favor of DeShawn Stevenson for the last 5 or so minutes of that game.

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible last inbound play. Dirk easily had another 2 seconds to drive and/or lean in for an easier shot or foul. I dont care how many times he hits that same shot, now isnt the time to settle for it.

I've been hoping for Roddy B to be unleashed at some point.
I really don't get why he was deactivated and everything, but whatever.
I think stretches of him and Barea on the floor together could kill Miami. Not to much, since that would be a defensive liability, but a few minutes here and there. I don't think they could handle that.
I guess if we need another big behind Chandler then Ian Mahinmi will get some minutes. He usually does fine with the minutes he gets.

I love the commercial they are running during the Finals with NBA and WNBA players saying that "basketball is basketball" and promoting the WNBA season.
Sure basketball is basketball. But one is just a really boring and mostly bad brand of it.
Don't you try and con me into watching the WNBA!

We have two and a half days before the NBA Finals resume. Got to kill some time on this thread until then. Wht do you think of ABC's NBA coverage? I WANT MAH NBA ON NBC BACK! BUT I STILL DON'T KNOW HOW! And please, PLEASE, someone hire Jeff Van Gundy as their coach this offseason. Just to get him off of commentary. I can't take much more of him.

How about Alonzo Del Rio.
That's original right?
Or at least that's what the Spanish version of the FCW/WWE Name Generator tells me.

I have no idea what I just watched, besides a team defying the mountain they were faced with and playing a GREAT 4th quarter to pull it out. I don't know either. The last 30 minutes for me was some kind of haze of every emotion there is I think. But all I know now, is it's 1-1 with the next THREE at home.

Awwww, is D-Wade gonna cry because the refs aren't putting him on the free throw line for being breathed on wrong like in 2006?
I feel soooooo bad for him.

Applaud JJ Barea for that play on Miller. He saved an easy 2 for Wade.
Even better that Miller got a T out of it

If Peja is stroking, I have no problem with him being out there because he makes up for what he lacks.
But when he can't shoot, he's useless and shouldn't be in the game period.

Mavs starters score 13, then Peja subs in for Dirk. Two LeBron screens later, Peja can't close out either time, he hits open shots. Send him back to Serbia. Peja sucking is proof of the NBA fixing the Finals. No, but him actually still being allowed on the floor might be. I mean f***, what will it take to just sit his ass on the bench? He provides NOTHING right now. NOTHING AT f***ING ALL.

Matt Harrison's blister is keeping him out for his scheduled start tonight against Cleveland, so Dave Bush is going to start in his place.
Good God, if Bush can make it through 2 innings without giving up more then 15 runs, we'll call it a moral victory.
