Judas, I know Punjab isn't the same as Hindi/Indian, but do you have any clue as to what the words are in Khali's awesome entrance music??? I've always wondered. Absolutely...the lyrics are awesome and Punjabi MC was huge in India with his hit single "Mundiya tu bach ke" which was the title track for the movie Boom. Actually MC is short for a bad word used by majority of Indians...it means Madar Choad...which is Mother f***er. Regarding the Great Gama, he was very popular in India. They refer to him in India as Gama Matting...which means Gama The Great.

He is really old now...he retired long back. He acts in Bollywood movies mostly for Grandpa roles, and even in Hindi soap operas. Too bad he never wrestled for the WWF{E}. He was talented enough and technically sound...definitely better skilled than that slob Khali.

He was a great Indian wrestler...I am an Indian and let me inform you fellow crappers that my parents as well as relatives speak high about him. I read on wiki that he has a record of defeating Stanislaus Zbyszko...Has anyone heard about him before. Discuss en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dara_Singh

Was Stone Cold's gimmick a beer drinker, or was it a mixture of an alcoholic and a stoner because "Stone Cold" cold've been Stoned cold.

I downloaded AAA from Youtube, and was stunned to find out that Kenzo Suzuki was doing The Great Muta impersonation. I saw Kiyoshi doing similar gimmick in TNA, btw AAA looks like a smaller yet exciting version of TNA because of tjhe 6 sided ring. ;D

Easy way I can describe ECW. Take a top line computer 10 years ago, it won't stand up to computers now. Back then it was a great computer because it did things, while standard today, that no other computers did. To really appreciate ECW you must reference it compared to every other promotion of that day. ECW revolutionized the entire industry in America. When looking at the era ECW rose in, I don't think it's possible to consider ECW even close to over-rated. You win the 'internet quote of the day'. I am really impressed by your witty answer. ;D

So if ECW had financial backup like TNA's Panda Energy....would it be still alive??? The answer is simply no. Even if ECW had toned down the violence, the E in the ECW told the story to the TV networks that this company was violent and always pushed the envelope because of that. So anyways without a TV deal, ECW would die quickly.

People say they never made a dime...but in the Rise and fall of ECW, Taz says that after Barely Legal they were making money.

Just downloaded ECW Barely Legal and boy it is nothing compared to WCW PPV's of 1997. There's only one good match and thats the 6 man tag between the Michinoku Pro wrestlers. Still I dont get the point why so many smarks felt ECW was awesome in 97-98 when WCW blew ECW off in every way possible. Is it the Heyman cool aid....I dont knoooooow! that's Kool Aid! SPELL IT RIGHT! Anyway... the answer to the original question is yes. :-p That wasn't a typo...I did it on purpose to get some reaction. And whats the "Yes" for....for ECW being awesome or overrated?

I loved ECW at the time but I don't really get much out of it now. but, I do get a kick how the ECW fans were all "we love hardcore!" yet cheered Sid when he appeared while booing the Bushwackers. If only they had known their history.... Thats a great point. I think Sid got the biggest pop in the history of ECW. Even if the Warrior had joined ECW after his horrible run in WCW he would've been accepted. Bottomline is that ECW fans always liked to see the big fish in the small bingo hall!

This topic had me going through my tape collection and watching some of the old shows. While many say "it don't hold up due to age", I think the real concern is: "we've seen stuff like this so many times in the years since, it became old hat". Just like your clothes, favorite TV shows or whatever music you listen to. Times change and if something becomes popular, people like to copy it until it becomes run into the ground and made to feel useless. Then you develop a negative view of it. I'll admit a lot of the lucha libre stuff and the garbage wrestling got old quick, and I find myself fast-forwarding through a lot of those matches. (You want to get some good sleep? Watch Public Enemy and the Bruise Brothers "brawl" throughout the arena. You could take a 15-minute nap and wake up not missing anything. And this is from a guy who liked TPE.) Were The Bruise Brothers, the storyline sons of Bruiser Brody? I think that was a wrestlecrappy gimmick for the Harris Twins.

One of the reasons the original ECW didn't impress me is because of the crap production values they had. It looked very unprofessional. Once again....did Taz suffer from a 'bipolar disorder' gimmick wise.

ECW in 1996 was awesome. Other years had their moments, some more than others. It did get pretty sad towards the end. I saw some ECW PPV's from 1999 on Youtube and it was below average from a production standpoint and the in ring action is average at its best. I dont want to go off topic but did Taz have the gimmick of some shoot fighter with a bipolar syndrome....because his mood always changed?

Well, the whole Attitude Era had it's flaws. Yeah, but it was definitely better than ECW On TNN.

Bottomline is ECW was awesome for the ECW fans, and it has not aged very well. ;D
