This one might be controversial, but Jim Henson and The Muppets.
Based on various stories, Henson wanted to move on from Kermit and the gang after The Muppet Movie. He wanted to work on his passion project, The Dark Crystal, but no studio was interested. They just wanted a second Muppet Movie.
And so The Great Muppet Caper was made, with the proceeds going to fund The Dark Crystal.
Dark Crystal bombs in theaters. Leading to no one wanting his follow-up, Labyrinth. Instead, wanting a third Muppet Movie.
And so The Muppets Take Manhattan was made, with the proceeds going to fund Labyrinth.
Labyrinth bombs in theaters. Henson doesn't want to make a fourth Muppet Movie. Tired of what he created, he begins talks to sell The Muppets to Disney and use that to fund his future projects.
As we know, Jim Henson died before the sale was finalized. One would wonder how Jim would feel knowing his legacy is The Muppets rather than anything else he did.

Conan Doyle and Sherlock Holmes has to be one of the Ur Examples. Also L. Frank Baum and the Oz books. Like Doyle and the Holmes books, the Oz books were the only thing that was making Baum money. So, while both tried to move on from their most beloved characters, the public wouldn't let them.

I've seen him in The Boys as Soldier Boy and he did a great job there. I just have a hard time picturing him as Batman. I'd still give him a chance to prove me wrong though. Keaton is a good example of someone who people couldn't picture as Batman at first either. So people find a way of surprising you. For those who don't know, there was a huge Backlash against Keaton when he was announced as Batman. He was primarily a comedy actor, and people were angry that the guy from Mr. Mom was going to be Batman. There was even petitions to bring back Adam West and fire Keaton. Now that's all forgotten and Keaton is seen as one of the best actors to play Batman. Same for Pattinson last year. He was still known as the guy from Twilight. Then The Batmam came out, was successful, and made people believe he was Batman.

It's the AEW Championship, the one he won at All Out last year. The title he "never lost". He'll take it out and call out MJF for a match to see who the real champion is. Either at All In or All Out. I hope you're right. I can see it play out in my head. Forbidden Door might be too close, but I'm going with it. MJF beats Tanahashi. He gloats and holds the Triple B high. Lights go out. In a mirror of last year's All Out, we hear a voice mail of Tony Khan talking to someone about contracts, legal action, and caving in to demands. We then see the bag in a room being opened up by a pair of tattooed arms and something being pulled out. The camera pans up to see CM Punk holding the old AEW Championship belt. "Who's the Devil now, Max?" Cult of Personality starts as Punk enters the arena, title over his shoulder, and points to MJF. MJF, infuriated that anyone else would dare question his status as champion, holds his belt high again. Mouthing every swear word in the book at Punk as Punk smiles and holds his belt up as well. End PPV. Now, if they didn't already do a ladder match at Double or Nothing, I'd say do one for this match. Hold both belts up, HBK vs Razor style. It would make for a hell of a main event for All In.

I've seen some comments from people who saw the early screenings, and the impression that I get is that the movie isn't objectively terrible, but it's written and paced like every other Pixar movie released in the last decade, so there's nothing really new to bring audiences to the theater. It basically looks like Zootopia with a new coat of paint. And that's on poor marketing. As there's basically no Zootopia influence in Elemental at all. If there is, it's superficial. Disney's marketing department needs an overhaul. The last 5 years they seem to have no clue how to advertise their animated films.

Good god almighty... I never thought I'd utter this sentence, but man...I miss Lone Wolf Baron Corbin. Grow your hair back out. Get your cool looking Tron back. Get your superior music back (screw royalties). And look legit again. f***'s sake... He really did lose his sense of style when he shaved his head. You might be on to something.

I’ve been saying it over and over. He desperately needs his career to take a hard comedic turn and stay there for a while. A comedic heavy like Theory was for Gargano. He needs to be in a faction and support a team. He just needs to stop taking himself seriously and loosen up in a sillier role because nobody on the planet gives a shit about him right now. Wasn't that the point of Happy Corbin? They even gave him a comedy sidekick in Madcap Moss.

White looks good with the WHC plates, surprised neither WCW or WWE tried it with the original Big Gold back in the day, I know Warrior had the Winged Eagle on both a baby blue and white strap during his run (Sarge won the white version at Royal Rumble 91) It was purple. Warrior wore the purple belt to the ring that night, and Slaughter kept the purple on all of the TV appearances up until Mania. Even the poster for Mania featured Slaughter with the purple belt. Slaughter only had the black strap on TV once, and that was the match with Hogan. And that's likely because they didn't want Hogan with the purple strap in photos of the event.

Just a thought, but maybe the short entrances are a good thing so they don't have to shill out for all the licensed music used in AEW? I've only seen a couple of entrances so I don't know but soundalikes won't be an issues if it's only a 15 second entrance. Most of the people complaining about the short entrances are the same people who skip the entrances when playing. So, I don't know what they're complaining about.

it's also possible the house shows didn't do well financially but house shows are a great way for a lot of the companies young inexperienced talent to get reps maybe they can gets reps at The Nightmare factory? I buy this. For years, wrestling fans have been taught that house shows didn't matter. You might see some unique matches and definitely good matches, but nothing in those shows matter. There will be no title changes, no storyline progression, nothing of consequence will happen.

The entire reason the NXT Women's Tag Titles existed was because Vince didn't want main roster champions losing to developmental talent. Not to mention, someone like a Ronda would see working NXT as beneath her or a demotion.
Now you can say that NXT doesn't have enough women's tag teams to justify having their own championship. I could say there aren't e ought teams in the whole company to justify the titles existing currently, either. But that's just me.

So what's the lineage for this thing? Continuing the RAW lineage that started in 2016, when it started at WrestleMania 32 as the… WWE Women’s Championship, so if anything this is a name change back to its “original name”. I remember Lita introducing it as "The first ever WWE Women's Championship"

At least there's a seamless transition between select screen and fight. That's a plus.

Good, it's nice to have at least one wrestling sleaze rumour (Lane sleeping with a cousin to produce LoBo) be decisively debunked. You have your stories crossed. Stan Lane isn't related to Lauren Boebert in any way. For decades Shawn Bentz, Boebert's mother, claimed Lane was the father of Lauren. Continuing to claim it even after paternity tests came back negative. It it believed that Boebert was conceived by an incestuous relationship between Bentz and her first-cousin. But that cousin is not, nor has ever been Stan Lane.

So it's only a matter of time before one of today's "rappers" does something with Pac or Biggie, right? With Michael Jackson or Prince on the hook.
