*laughs at the irony of TNA fans proclaiming downfall whereas they get pissed when their own promotion is threatened *

Now, in all seriousness, I feel bad for ECW. I like the show, really I do. I do think that WWE should have given it some ads for the change, especially since I didn't remember ECW was doing that until I saw it on the forums. Hell, I watch USA, and I get a bunch of RAW commercials, and a lot of videos on Smackdown and ECW for it. I know what happens on RAW and I don't even watch RAW.
Any brand that isn't RAW really gets the shaft by the WWE....

I am happy about this though.
Regardless of what I think about their product (which is very hit or miss) I want to TNA to succeed so it can be another place for the guys to work. It's better for the wrestling business if TNA does well.

Vince will be pissed about this. I mean, we know there is a good explanation for ecw's poor performance but he won't see it that way. He'll think it's still too similar to the old ECW & drop the brand entirely. Thinking like McMahon, the obvious fix is to rename it Kelly Kelly's ECW.

Now we see the power of TNA when...it has an hour head start against a lowly hyped show. Yeah...anyway, whatever works. Uber-TNA fans can go insane about how "WWE is going to die!" and ECW fans can say "Oh well, come to Tuesday and see what happens." True, but I think a lot of people thought it would be even at least. Then again it's the C-show, and not many care about ECW to begin with, no matter what day it's on. Yep. Some of them even enjoy bringing up that fact in any ECW thread made. I wasn't expecting a big rating. If I remember right, that was the rating that ECW got the last time they were moved to another night with little hype. Heck, even Raw lost over 1.0 when they moved to Thursday, the only difference was that they took away from TNA's audience so people went into uber-panic mode. (Of course the Main Event of Taker, Michaels, Cena, Batista vs. Kennedy, MVP, Edge, Orton probably helped.)

It's better for the wrestling business if TNA does well. Agreed, but it's also better for the business if TNA does well with not only good matches, but good storylines, which I know is a point of contention amongst us all as to whether or not the writing is good or not, but we can agree the matches are good at least, even if they may not make sense.

Wow. Not one, but two truly terrible ratings.

I mean if ECW was doing good, at least it would get SD-type ratings, but then that could be on the booking as there is no sense of urgency to watch for the average viewer. I mean, I like CM Punk and have been watching him since 2004 in ROH, but I'm not going to bother myself to sift through Miz/Morrison/Big Daddy V to see him in action.

Wow. Not one, but two truly terrible ratings. Not really in the case of TNA, as that's their average rating on a weekly basis.

doesn't the daily show get 1.1s?
For a cable shows TNA does pretty well.

TNA was coming off a PPV with lots of hype on the internet about OMG what's gonna happen next.
ECW was a throwaway episode. Plus Impact was stacked with all their usual big names...eh..ECW was bumped to another night...eheh

If ECW had more locked briefcases, they would have gotten a higher rating.

Doesn't TNA get 1.1's every week?
I'm wondering exactly how much this is to the overlap audience choosing TNA or the normal ECW/non TNA audience just not watching. Either way, it's good for TNA to actually do better than an actual irst run of a show, just wondering where this has contributed to if TNA's ratings never really increased.

From what I see there isn't really an overlap. This whole Thursday head to head with no advertising didn't help or hurt TNA, it probably didn't hurt ECW in the long run unless Vince snaps as he is wont to do and decides that the lack of advertising wasn't the problem.
