Thats valid too, I'd forgotten that the NFL had a game last night. Granted it was NFL Network only, but that's bound to take a lil bite in wrestling for those that have NFLN.

The last 2 Thursday night games on NFLN before last nights game each scored over a 5 rating. I was looking for the Bears/Skins rating just out of curiosity but couldn't find it. Im assuming it was at least a 4 though. I know that NFL.com said that the Packers/Cowboys rating from last week scored a 5.9 in the 18-49 male demo, which is the target demo for wrestling, so yea, it does make a solid dent.

Great. TNA finally beat the number 3 show with their number 1 show. Congratu-friggin lations. They only have one show Whih means it's number one by default. They're good enough to matck up with Smackdown at least, I'll give them that, but they aren't, that's the point. If you can beat the WWE's worst promoted show, yes, that's good, I'll admit, but still, the third show got point 6, that's nothing. That's a joke.

In all fairness, this proves that TNA has grown at least a LITTLE. I remember way back when, when Velocity was still on Saturdays on the same night Impact used to be on, Velocity always beat Impact in the ratings.
So, at least TNA has made some progress, albeit slowly.

In all fairness, this proves that TNA has grown at least a LITTLE. I remember way back when, when Velocity was still on Saturdays on the same night Impact used to be on, Velocity always beat Impact in the ratings. So, at least TNA has made some progress, albeit slowly. But, that means progress is no movement whatsoever. By this standard, I should be able to make it from Cincinnati to Los Angeles without taking a single step. Yes, they maintained their audience, and that IS a positive. I'm glad that they're stable, because that's the first step in a successful show. Problem is, they've had, essentially, the same rating week in, week out, for years now. Sting, Christian, Angle, Booker, and gimmick matches a go go, and...nothing, absolutely nothing does anything towards any kind of rise in ratings save a brief (one week) bump to 1.2 or, in one case, 1.3. I guess the question is, if the only real measure of "success" or "victory" is trumping ECW, regardless of the circumstances, in the sense of ratings, what does that say? When does "growth" and "success" become "stability", and when do the braintrusts at TNA decide that, hey, it's pretty important that we as a company start focusing on some sort of sustained grown in terms of ratings? If the additions of Angle, Sting, Christian, Booker, Nash, and Black Reign have done absolutely zero to raise ratings for any conceivable period beyond a week, does that really speak for any kind of success as a business model over the long term? At some point, you have to, absolutely have to "make" someone, or else the shelf life is very finite. Of the additions I mentioned, only one is under 35. Throw in the tag division of Team 3D, the now title shot having VKM, and there's only one tag team with any momentum, in the MCMG. It's good that they're positioned as being important in the long run, with LAX hopefully getting their momentum back as well, but can we find anyone in the singles side of things that have been given that much of a rub? Joe has yo-yoed ever since his feud with Angle, AJ, while gaining more charisma hasn't really been put in any kind of feature role in terms of wrestling. Daniels is just kinda there, sort of, maybe. Tomko? He's been given a pretty prominant role, but can we honestly say he's the guy to hitch the wagons to in a couple years when all the aforementioned names are passing 40 (or 45, or 50) and on the downsides of their careers? OK, I know I went of subject there, sorry.

They promoted ECW for Thursday last week on ECW, Smackdown, and RAW. Seems like an excuse to me.

Not surprising, as TNA is a much better hyped show, and well, ECW is just the bastard 3rd brand. Not taking anything away from TNA or anything, it does show that TNA has been built much better then ECW has, and the WWE doesn't give a crap about that brand it seems.
It proves that Vince's vision of ECW is not what the fans want to see, and I hope this shows Vince that he needs to shape up when it comes to promoting ECW. And with TNA, it's good their still staying consistent with that 1.1 number, instead of going down.

If it was, no suprise to me, if I was forced to choose between the two I'd pick Impact myself That is like having to choose between the two ugliest girls in school to take to the prom with you. As for me, I had the same option, so I went stag. After all, being seen by yourself is a lot better than being seen with one of the ugly girls.

Yeah with innovative matches as "Ladder match for POSSESSION of the X-Title, but you don't actually get to be the CHAMP. You just get to carry it around to hold up your pants or something."

It's your right to dislike them if you wish, I'm just telling you what I thought about it. In terms of keeping my interest, Impact does it while ECW does not.

I don't think either show is all that good.....the only difference is ECW doesn't make my brain want to explode trying to figure out the frustrating booking.

What is there to brag about? TNA didn't gain any audience members, ECW just lost a ton. It wasn't like they all switched the channel to TNA.
Who are those 2 TNA dorks to post their YouTube videos weekly, talking about how great TNA is? I can picture them now...

www.gerweck.net/news/1197596019.shtml*The Sci-Fi Network had planned to air the Christmas edition on 12/27, head to head with TNA's Impact. Sci-Fi has called an audible, and will now air the episode on Christmas night.
