- TNA will not push or even mention Sting until he signs another contract. While there are several Talents either out of contract or haven't signed one to start, their is fear that Sting could leave at anytime and they don't want to have a situation to where they promote him and he disappears much similar to Shannon Moore. This would not be of concern to TNA if it were not for the rumors that Ric Flair wants to have his retirement match be with either Sting or Triple H but regardless if it's his last match or not, Flair is persistent in his desire to work one more time with Sting.
WWE seems more willing now than in the past to entertain the idea of Sting working a lighter schedule. It is however believed that if Sting does come to WWE it's likely that it will require build up and some form of longevity after the match as WWE doesn't have a desire to have Sting come in for one match and then go away, similar to Warrior in WCW.

Sting coming in to end Flair's career at Mania would be quite awesome. They could book it as an "open challenge"
Of course, he doesn't seem to like the idea.

Why I'll admire that Steve Borden might be a man of his principals, surely he should do this favour for Flair, seeing as not only would it be Flair's final match (and I'd have to believe that would be one of those extremely rare retirement angles that stick), but seeing as Flair pretty much made Sting back in the late 80s in NWA/JCP/WCW, it'd be really ungrateful of Sting if he were to turn it down, no matter what he thinks of the McMahon product

it'd be really ungrateful of Sting if he were to turn it down, no matter what he thinks of the McMahon product I agree with this, but ending Flair's career is such an enormous rub that I doubt the company would give it to someone they don't fully trust, like Sting. Previously, I was convinced that Hunter would get the rub, but now, it's looking more like Orton would get it. Winning by screwjob, of course, for the extra heel heat.

I find the whole notion that a guy who was paid WCW main eventer money for ten years and didn't want to take a demotion is a matter of "principles" to be humorous.
Having said that, it's sad the guy seems to be turning into paranoid aging wrestler. So he has another thing in common with Jim Warrior.

I'm torn on the idea of Sting in WWE. On the one hand, I'd LOVE to see it. On the other, one of the biggest things that could ever be said about him is that he NEVER worked for Vince. I don't really know what to think.

I think it would be an injustice to Sting's legacy if the only thing we have of his career on DVD is Sting in TNA. Not that he was bad in TNA, but he has such a storied career that it would be a shame for his entire history to never be given the proper DVD retrospective. But then again, the same could be said for Bruno Sammartino, and we'll probably never see that either.

If Sting were to sign with WWE, and work a program with Flair, I would demand that one spot happen. At some point prior the the "final meeting", be it in an interview segment, match run-in, whatever, Sting must be on the receiving end of Flair's chops, as he has been oh so many times. He can sell the first few the same way he always has (in other words, not at all), but I want to see him sell the last one during the sequence like a gunshot wound. I'm talking down for the count. Hell, have JR say something about Flair's chops having a "cumulative effec" on him, or something.

I don't necessarily want Sting to be a part of the main roster, a couple of dream matches the big ones of course: The Undertaker Ric Flair Umaga Shawn Michaels Triple H Then of course you'd have the action figures, auto-biography, and of course the compilation DVD with the WCW/JCP matches...
