Based on an article from pwtorch, i was wondering how you guys feel about a Jeff Hardy run. I know there's a lot of support for him to get a solid main event run, but how would you book him as champ? or how will he be booked? When you look at most of his matches, he spends a lot of time selling for his opponent (like HBK) but he's no HBK in the ring, which means i can only imagine him as a Rey Mysterio style champ, getting his ass kicked then winning by the skin of his teeth. Your thoughts?

I have my doubts, but I suppose it can't hurt to give him a chance as champion and see how people react.
Let's face it, when you have a guy walking around with a WWE Championship that SPINS, it's not really something that has a lot of prestige to damage.

good point, if HHH wins at Mania, and i assume he will, i hope he goes back to the original belt, or a new one, i just can't imagine him walking around with a spinner belt, he's too good for that

I can see him as a good champ. He will probably have more Gimmick title matches but that can be good and bad at the same time.

They have a chance to book another "boyhood dream" storyline, throwing in the mix bits of redemption, underdog and pride.
With a competent booking team, a non-fickle audience, some solid ringwork and ok-ish promos, it can't possible go wrong.

I dunno, whats his gimmick? He can put on a hell of a match when he wants to but I don't rate his mike skills and he seems to be just a pretty generic character, given a very popular one. But in saying that it is nice to see a guy get over based simply on his matches, cos it's not his promos

Well in my opinion, I can see it work now. Sure, Jeff doesn't have a gimmick, but he gets great reaction in almost every match of his. Just as long Jeff doesn't screw up, everything should be fine.

It would certainly trigger a change in Matt, who'd be pissed he's only got the US Title, and sees his brother as a world champion.

I was thinking the same thing and as much as I like Matt right now I like heel Matt too. I also think with the 'cast' Raw has right now a Jeff title run would be good. He believably beat HHH. Feud's with Jericho, Santino, HBK, Kennedy would be workable. And then a Brother vs Brothe storyline. Yeah count me in, I'd give it a try.

it might work out if he is pushed big time, wins the title at mania, be a face and at the next PPV turn heel.

I like Jeff Hardy. I think he's given us some of the best "Oh Shit!" moments in WWE history and can put on some awesome matches when given the right opponent.
That said, he's a solid upper-mid-card wrestler. He's no main eventer, IMO.

I think it would be a mistake to make him champion. He's improving on mic, but hasn't really created an actual character yet.

I don't think most of the performers on the roster really have a character aside from "face" or "heel" so I don't think Hardy's lack of one is really any big disadvantage.

Jeff Hardy does not seem like championship material to me. I don't know why. He's gotten a huge following and put on some great matches. I could see him in a match for the title but never in possession of it.
