Some speculation from PWInsider: *Mike's Talent Conjecture: The most obvious major names seem to be (in order of my own personal guesses) Paul "Big Show" Wight (who is extremely close with Kurt Angle and lives in Florida), Chris Jericho (Florida-based, TNA has wanted him for months and months and he does have a book coming out plus who knows how he feels about WWE in the aftermath of the Chris Benoit tragedy), Goldberg (extreme long shot in my opinion, as they never seemed to get on the same page during discussions and I don't know that the audience watching would care), Brock Lesnar (someone they've wanted who is also close to Angle, but that would kill his UFC plans since Dana White doesn't want active pro wrestlers fighting MMA and his name was dropped a ton last night) or Rob Van Dam (My gut tells me RVD would want more time off, but you never know; I don't see it at this point). I don't see Booker T or Ric Flair because whether they are at odds with WWE or not right now or not, I've heard nothing that leads me to believe they are free to leave and work elsewhere. Secondary possibilities I could see are Sid Vicious (I just don't see it but he's still in awesome shape and is still a monster), Ken Shamrock (long shot), or Sabu (I'd be shocked if he wasn't back in TNA by the end of the year) or even a name like Amy Dumas who would technically be a "former" World champion, but I don't believe any of those names would not be considered a letdown by those watching. If it's not a major name, TNA would be better served not to announce anything.
My best guess would be Big Show. I think if Jericho does return to wrestling, it will be in WWE. Lesnar is a long shot at best. Yeah i agree, plus TNA has no one on the roster like Big Show, and honestly if they wanted to Matt Morgan could do the Lesnar stuff and in fact be better. The only other name I could see is RVD because he is a huge name that still has a major value today, the fans have always respected, could have a good feud with Angle for the TNA Title and could put over not as established talent which would be "phenominal" if you get what I'm saying.

As far as I'm concerned, Hall wouldn't even need to wrestle! Just put him with Nash and the X-Division. Can you imagine how awesome that would be? I'm a huge Hall mark, so maybe I'm biased, but The Outsiders mentoring the Motor City Machine Guns or other X-Division stars in video packages would be two guaranteed minutes of TV gold for weeks on end.

i actually hope its big show, they could use another big man on the roster. tna has plenty of technically sound types already. although RVD would be great (and seems probable)

If it's RVD it will be bittersweet for me. I'll be happy to be able to see him again, but sad because it will probabally mean I will never see him in WWE again. I would be watching Impact religiously for a while if it was him though that for sure

Well, it's not Ric Flair. He publicly said on the radio today that he was still with WWE.

Was this "former world champ" on the PPV last night? If so who was it?

Since there isn't an explosion of "OMG __________ IS IN TNA!!!!" threads on the board, I'm guessing it either didn't happen or people just don't care much about Ricky Banderas.

obviously the former world champion hasn't debutted yet.
i see people are STILL saying it could be judas messias. let me point another reason why it will not be him.
judas messias was never a world champion. ricky banderas was a wsx champion (not a world champion), but it is not ricky banderas who is debutting on tna, it is judas messias. they are not acknowledging his prior alter ego, therefore why would they acknowledge his former alter ego's title history?
throw in the fact that HE IS ALREADY WITH THE COMPAnY, so they would not "be in talks" with him.
am i seriously the only one who thinks it could be the giant bernard? is there someway it couldn't be him that i am unaware of?

I second your theory, but Giant Bernard has been in talks with TNA for a long while now, and he seems happy in IWGP(That is where he wrestles right?)

you could be right he could be perfectly happy in njpw, who knows. he just seems like a blatantly obvious choice.
