And they've already successfuly recreated WCW--a second-rate promotion where new guys go for their break and old guys go to recapture their lost glory. That had better matches than Vince but didn't quite get that fans now want 'entertainment' instead of good matches Fixed This would be the same company that felt Steve Austin, Mick Foley, Chris Jericho and Eddie Guerrero would never be anything more than midcarders while Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash dominated the main event scene. It's also the same company that put the world title on David Arquette and Vince Russo.

It was also the same company that had Eddie and Ray Jr. and Jericho tearing up the cruiserweight division in 95-96 while WWF had Doink the Clown and TL Hopper.
WCW, like TNA always had a better roster, and more talent, and better matches than WWF. WWF won because for some reason fans became obsessed with CHARACTERS like Austin, Foley and Rock. They all got over behind the microphone.
It terms of in-ring quality -- it was never a competition. At least until the constant shifts in management forced Eddie and the others out. Eddie by the way, was loyal to Biscoff and said he never would have left WCW if Eric had stayed in charge. If EB had owned WCW, (or at least been given more freedom) Vince Russo and reign of terror wouldn't have happened.

Based on that logic, I'd think you would oppose TNA's unending recruitment of former WWE "characters" more than anyone.

Just thought I'd throw this out there. From the F4W Newsletter: "Nick Dinsmore (Eugene) replaced Joey Matthews (Joey Mercury) as the head trainer of the OVW intermediate class (the Derby City guys) this week."

So WWE's future superstars are being trained by a retard? I'm sorry, it was to good to pass.

I do vehemently oppose WWE 'characters' in TNA.
We spoke on "Black Reign" thread about how idiotic the decision was to hire him, Team 3D and VKM.
I also think Phatu's first match in TNA was the worst main event I have ever seen on an impact. I'm not freaking out about it yet, since he's not under contract which tells me he's there to further an angle.

I've seen some of his matches, and he is a good talent. Just because he was fired by WWE means nothing, they fire guys left right and centre for no other reason than they have nothing for them.

They've made it clear they're going to sign as many former WWE talents as they can, and anyone on their roster who's worked hard for the past few years will just have to step aside. I don't own a Neilson box, and few people listen to my opinions. So other than one less PPV buy, TNA has no reason to give a damn what I think. But they will get a verbal roll of the eyes from me in these forums. here's to hoping joey is used better than in the wwe, i always personally thought he had more to show than he was allowed to. I just have to ask, how exactly was Mercury misused in WWE? He and Nitro were put in a hot tag feud with no less than the Hardy Boyz. I'd say that's a damn good start for anyone.

I'm ordering Bound for Glory since it looks like it will be a good ppv and I've got a bunch of people who want to watch it with me, but Dustin Rhodes gets added to the "bathroom break" list with 3D and VKM. It's funny, but it was best a year and a half ago when 3D were feuding with the James Gang, so we only had to fast forward through one match at every ppv.

Plus MNM had 3 pretty decent WWE Tag Title reigns, even going over Batista and Rey Mysterio (with the help of Mark "I can't get the damn cage open" Henry)

It sounds like a good show, despite my personal Pacman boycott. If I could get my friends to order it, I would. I just can't justify that much money out of my own wallet--plus, I only have basic cable anyway. Add that to my list of TNA things I haven't crapped on (apart from Pacman, of course).

Add that to my list of TNA things I haven't crapped on (apart from Pacman, of course). Well if you're going to not order a ppv, Pacman's a pretty respectable reason. You can add him to the list of TNA things I won't defend, along with 3D, VKM, Black Reign and Phatu (IF he is signed to a contract -- he's on the roster page but so were Andrew Martin, Basham and Damaja). Matthews? He's alright. And I don't see his hiring as a compulsive need to hire ex-WWE guys. If it was, he would have been hired months ago instead of showing up at my old high school gym every few months since May. Like I said before, unlike in the 90s there just aren't a lot of guys in the business who have never worked for Vince. That's just a reality when the status quo is a monopoly.

Bring in York to tag with him. I would mark for that. I loved them in the dying days of ECW

TNA has plenty of talnet, the main thing that sucks is the booking of it. And Mercury frankly isn't that special. The only thing I could see him doing is filling the niche on the roster of a Kazarian or Robert Roode if they left.
