I'm actually looking forward to Joe/Roode. Roode from what I've seen has finally been stepping it up to match the hype they gave him last year. I think this can surprise like the Jarrett match did a few months ago.

I love Robert Roode, so im really looking forward to this. TNA has a REALLY strong heel roster imo. Angle, Cage, Roode, Storm, AJ, Tomko, 3D, XXX, Mitchell and his Group, and so on.

So apparently Scott Hall will be the mystery partner for Sting... personally I would have loved to see Booker T or RVD, but when looking at this match, I think that Hall will bring something special to it... and considering that in a recent shoot interview he said that he had one more run in him... I think that this is the best opportunity for it.

I think the plan is still to have Booker as Sting's partner, as they said it was someone that Angle has worked with and to my knowledge Hall and Angle never faced each other, while Booker and Angle have.

For the one and a half people that care, I'll make my predictions for this show as it stands...
TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Kurt Angle (c) & Kevin Nash vs. Sting & ?
People keep suggesting the mystery partner will be Booker T, but I still don't see it. I'm still leaning toward Jarrett, regardless of what the "past accomplishments" TNA keeps claiming.
This is a really dumb idea for a match, I'm sorry. Why the hell is the TNA title on the line in a tag team match!? Just dumb. I can't see TNA taking their title off their golden boy (no matter what his indiscretions may be, apparantly), so I'm betting Kurt scores the pinfall here.
But Nash somehow winning after a dozen botched run-ins wouldn't surprise me, either.
Samoa Joe vs. Robert Roode w/Ms. Brooks
I guess Joe's depush to a solid midcarder is complete, otherwise he wouldn't be in a match with Ravishing Rick Rude's cheap clone. Pinning Joe could've been a big deal for Roode, but TNA already screwed that up by jobbing Joe right the hell out to Angle. I suspect Roode will get the win through some manner of shennanigans from Brooks to continue the feud.
Team 3D vs. The Motor City Machineguns
If MCMG win, it's only after a half-dozen run-ins, some "miscommunication" on the part of Team 3-D, and a bag of walnuts. Honestly, I see 3-D winning this one, but I could be wrong.
TNA WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP Gail Kim vs. Roxxi Laveaux vs. ODB vs. Angel Williams
I imagine TNA wants to make the Women's Title mean something, and Gail will come out on top. This match has a lot of potential, though. I also expect Kong to somehow get involved.
SHOP OF HORRORS Abyss vs. Black Reign
Oh God. Don't care. Don't care. Don't care. Umm, Abyss wins? Yea, please just fire Black Reign?

Yeh ok pal. This is the best thing thats happened for Joe in a long time, you got two guys first Roode who needs momentum and you got Joe who needs to rack up wins so this is a win-win situation. I like the way they have booked this, Roode is the hungry up and comer who messes with Joe to prove a point and Joe retaliating to prove he is the man. Two guys who wanna beat each other up , beatiful i expect a 4 star match from them at Genesis. For Joe this is about getting his heat back, when Joe entered the main event he managed to keep his heat for so long because he had his amazing win streak and people believed in him. Now he is starting to fade so make him rack up some wins again to get his heat back. For Roode, a competitive loss is good enough for his career and should elevate his value.

Using your logic....if Roode needs momentum and Joe needs a win, then when one of the guys loses the match, it would be bad. Thus it is not a win-win situation.

Actually, one can get momentum and still lose. I remember 2 cases: Samoa Joe vs Chris Sabin at No Surrender 05, and Lance Hoyt vs Abyss at Sacrifice 05. Hoyt & Sabin lost their matches, but both actually got more momentum for the great matches they did with Joe & Abyss. All it has to be is a good, even match, and you can have the whole thing about momentum in a loss.

Lance Hoyt wasn't winning much matches back then, and Sabin wasn't exactly invincible himself. It's all about the first big match. Abyss was Hoyt's "coming out party", the first big match for his career. Sabin was the a guy who went head to head with Joe and that was a big deal. Roode just has to go head to head with Joe to get the same thing. Plus, I don't think Roode has lost much. I know he's won at least a couple of matches in the last 6 months.

You're not really making a great argument by talking about how much it helped Lance Hoyt. He hasn't really done crap since he's been in the company.
