Since Sting is champ now I guess that means either James Storm, Robert Roode, or Lance Hoyt is winning the tournament. All 3 of those possibly matched up with Sting are pretty underwhelming.

I see Alex Shelley winning the Fight for Your Right over James Storm. Then Jim Cornette comes out and says there is one more person left to fight, and he reveals a debuting Big Daddy V who squashes Shelley and we get Sting vs Big Daddy V at Genesis. Original, I know.

Will Sting even still be champ? My sources say that Angle is already invoking his rematch clause for either this week's or next week's Impact.

Can you believe it's almost been a year since the match that started a mediocre feud between Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe. Everyone was thrilled for it and TNA dropped the ball big time. They rushed it too.

Someone with Shannon Moore in his sig should not be talking about mediocre wrestling related items, me thinks. :/

Someone with Shannon Moore in his sig should not be talking about mediocre wrestling related items, me thinks. :/ Because one has so much to do with the other, right? Anyway, I'm hoping for Sting vs Storm. I've been calling for Storm to get kick started in to the main event since about midway through his singles push. Guy has been amazing from what I've seen. LAX vs Styles/Tomko should be pretty freaking great as well. Hernandez and Tomko going head to head and Styles and Homicide doing their thing. I just hope the MCMG don't get fed to 3D, who may actually be the biggest waste of space that company has. Show is shaping up with some big time potential.

I think TNA's got a good idea here: give a midcarder (which is what the guys in the FFTR tourny are, mostly) a title shot, and even if he doesn't win on the PPV, at least use the match to build him up and take him up the next step.
ROH does it a lot, mixing in marquee title matches with title bouts between the champ and somebody a lot of people wouldn't guess could possibly win...yet the challenger usually ends up looking all the better for it.
That said, if TNA plans on selling the PPV on the strength of Sting or Angle (should Angle win a potential rematch) vs. a midcarder, they should certainly have a couple other possible headliner matches lined up.

For some reason Sting vs. anyone in the Fight for the Right Tournament doesn't excite me. But, I wouldn't have mind seeing Kurt Angle vs. Alex Shelley or James Storm.

Yeah, again, we're probably gonna have to look at this title match more as "Let's give a younger guy a rub and push him up the card" and less as "Let's see a classic mat war".

Just an idle thought...
But isn't calling something Genesis III sort of a paradox?
