I don't know about any of you, but it annoys me how stupid TNA book Abyss. Here is one of the rare good big men who works hard and will do most anything asked of him and yet he gets stuck in craptacular feuds against the likes of Dustin Runnels who hasn't been good in over 10 years. I remember reading someone on here writing about the Abyss DVD thats supposed to be his greatest matches, of which he wins in 1 of them. How is that his GREATEST MATCHES? "Hey guys, check out my new DVD where I win nothing!". Could you imagine someone like Jeff Jarrett putting out a DVD of all his losses? (Although it might be considered a sleeping aid by some). It's about time he was given a run with a title. He's done everything to deserve it in my view.

He was given a short run. A lot of people didnt like it, but at least he pinned Sting clean to retain it a month after he won it.

Abyss doesnt need to win matches to be popular, And even in the crappiest of crap matches he comes off looking a better monster than most. Yes he loses, but he takes a lot to go down

I hate the fact that everybody and their grandmother can seemingly beat the s*** out of him. How many times has somebody new come in and "laid him out"? Oh, and his entire title run was a joke.

He's had his time in the sun (if you want to call it that). I don't see him ever getting the belt again.
He'll get placed in these hardcore matches where they use the thumbtacks/glass (overused, BTW) and he takes a bump on them, etc, etc.

Abyss is boring. I hate that stupid gesture he does with his arms.

Wasn't he NWA champ at one point? Not in a pissed of TNA mark's eyes. Yeah, I'm obviously a TNA mark. I mean, I buy all their PPV's and go to all their shows and whatnot. The fact that I live in the UK means I get crappy coverage of TNA on Bravo 2 so I don't bother watching it. I watch the matches elsewhere that I'm interested in which means I will watch Abyss. So please get your facts right on things before you say stuff like that. And while he may have been NWA champ, look at the dumb way he won it and then quickly lost it again. He's made to look weak way too much.

If they turned him back heel then they wouldn't have him beaten up as often. They really don't know how to use him. They keep beating him up badly and never appearing for several weeks but doesn't quite get his revenge. Everytime he brings out the tacks or broken glass, it is always him who gets it.

I can't understand why seemingly everyone on the face of the earth has some sort of problem with Abyss. He's always getting attacked or ambushed, poor guy.
TNA need to start booking him as a dominant face, which is easily done.

I hate how whenever someone thinks up a "cool" new spot, it is Abyss who ends up taking it.
"Hey guys, How about we stack a couple of tables and put thumbtacks on them!" "Great! Abyss can take the fall through them." "Good idea. He's willing."
"Hey guys, how about Glass! Broken glass!" "Holy crap! That'd be sick! Where's Abyss at?" "I already told him. He'll do it!"
"Hey guys, how about mouse traps!" "Mouse traps? Fricking ow! Hey has Abys..." "YES! I HEAR YOU! I'LL DO IT. JUST KEEP ME ON TV!" "Where did you come from?" "We just filmed me falling off of a ride in the amusement park..."

He squished Disco in about 2 seconds, though. True, but given Disco's status, anyone could've done that.

I realize that this isn't particularly what you're talking about, but hes been used well, imo, over the last year. Here are his PPV matches since Turning Point last year;
* Abyss -Def- Sting and Christian Cage to retain the NWA World Championship [TURNING POINT - 12-10-06]
* Christian Cage -Def- Sting and Abyss in a Triple Threat Match to win the NWA World Championship [FINAL RESOLUTION - 1-14-07]
* Sting -Def- Abyss in a Prison Yard Match [AGAINST ALL ODDS - 2-11-07]
* Sting -Def- Abyss in a Last Rites Match [DESTINATION X - 3-11-07]
* Team Angle (Angle, Joe, Sting, Jarrett, Rhino) -Def- Team Cage (Cage, Styles, Tomko, Steiner, Abyss) in the Lethal Lockdown Match [LOCKDOWN - 4-15-07]
* MISSED SACRIFICE DUE TO BEATDOWN FROM CHRISTIANS COALITION
* Abyss -Def- Tomko in a No DQ Match [SLAMMIVERSARY - 6-17-07]
* Abyss and Sting -Def- AJ Styles and Tomko [VICTORY ROAD - 7-15-07]
* Abyss, Sting, and Andrew Martin -Def- Christians Coalition in the Doomsday Chamber of Blood Match - [HARD JUSTICE - 8-12-07]
* Kurt Angle -Def- Abyss to retain the TNA World Championship - [NO SURRENDER - 09-09-07]
* Abyss -Def- Raven, Rhino, and Black Reign in a Monsters Ball Match - [BOUND FOR GLORY - 10-14-07]
* Abyss -Def- Black Reign in a Shop of Horrors Match - [GENESIS - 11-11-07]
Hes 7-5 on PPV over the last year and is 5-1 over the last six months. What I'm getting at is, yes, he gets beat down, but he gets the win at the payoff match. And up until the last few months, has been involved in high profile feuds all year. He went from being World Champion into a feud with Sting (the execution was questionable, but it WAS a long program with Sting), into a program with Christian's Coalition. He also recently got a shot, and put on a really good performance against Angle for the strap.
I could do without him taking big bump after big bump after tack bump after glass bump and so on, but overall, I think hes being used solidly for what he is. And thats an upper midcard act, imo.

you can basically call Abyss the Kane of TNA (ok its pretty obvious enough as is)...he had a short run with the title (which kane had the wwe for ONE WHOLE DAY )...hes been a tag champ with AJ Styles, which tho hes held a few more then one tag titles kane can also fall in the category... so aside from the obscene use to foreign objects theyre quite the same (give of take a move or two)... well at least imo

I just get annoyed that Abyss is no longer a monster in my eyes. He's just a big ugly puppy that people randomly walk by and kick for being big and ugly.
