Now Morishima Is Angry
Sunday, November 18, 2007
Former World Champion Takeshi Morishima has always been an intimidating figure in ROH. That intimidation was a weapon Morishima developed out of his hunger to win. Now for the first time in Morishima's career he is driven by a new hunger. Morishima is fighting mad.
Our sources in Japan have told us that Morishima hasn't been the same since he returned from "Glory By Honor VI" weekend earlier this month. Morishima, normally humble and soft-spoken outside the ring, has been showing signs of rage. For the first time in his career there is an opponent he doesn't just want to defeat. There is an adversary he wants to hurt.
"Bryan Danielson has certainly unleashed a new side of Mr. Morishima," our source in Japan said. "Mr. Danielson tried to purposely take his manhood in Manhattan. Mr. Morishima knows this was a malicious act. This has really reached a new place in his soul."
The incident this source is talking about took place on November 4th at "Glory By Honor VI: Night 2" at ROH's sixth consecutive sellout of the Manhattan Center. Bryan Danielson entered the building fueled by anger that night. August 25th saw Morishima injure Danielson's eye. This isn't what upset "American Dragon" since he knows injuries are part of the game. What happened at the "Man Up" pay-per-view (set to debut on November 30th) is what sent Danielson over the edge.
"Yeah I lost it in New York," Danielson said, "and you know what? I don't have one regret. The more I think about what Morishima did at the PPV taping the angrier and angrier I get. This anger isn't going away in time, it is just growing stronger. I will fight Morishima in the ring or in the alley. I don't care. I just want to do to him what he did to me."
Simply put, "Glory By Honor VI: Night 2" saw Danielson try to stomp Morishima's testicles off. Danielson repeatedly stomped Morishima low after the bell. Danielson was out to injure Morishima and he was successful. Morishima was in extraordinary pain for days after the attack. Morishima cannot forget or forgive the intent behind Danielson's act of rage. Now for the first time in his life, Morishima is out for revenge.
An agreement between Pro Wrestling NOAH and Ring Of Honor has been reached for Morishima to have a major influence on ROH in 2008. Morishima's path in ROH is even clearer than when he was World Champion. He wants revenge on Danielson and his rematch for the ROH World Title. The ROHwrestling.com Newswire will announce where the next Danielson vs. Morishima match will take place on Black Friday. The fight is on.
