Freaking loved this Evolution and Post Evolution On Raw days, but once he went to Smackdown, he was reduced to talking about Basketballs holding grudges whilst he was dressed like a weird Simon Cowell/Dance Intructor hybrid

But of course after a Superstar turns face and gets a main event push, he instantly becomes hated... You can't honestly say you believe that's the reason for the hatred can you? Not the un-ignorable lack of effort he put forth from his return up until his feud with Undertaker, not the horrid promos he's had to cut, and not the 9 million title shots he was given when there were fresh programs waiting for Smackdown had he been put in the semi-main position causing him to become arguably more stale than John Cena. You think it's because he got his push that EVERYONE wanted?

Batista fan. Half the stories about him are exaggerated.

I thought he was great in that feud he had with Triple H back in 2005 but ever since he moved to smackdown he's sucked ass

I don't have a problem with Batista. I prefer him as a champ over Randy Orton, and I thought his WM23 match with Undertaker was more enjoyable to watch the the Raw match with Cena and HBK.
No I don't downright love Batista or anything, but there are plenty of guys in top spots that I like less.

Yes I like Batista. I've liked him from his debut. You know why? He looks like a star and has size to make him look like a legit asskicker. His wrestling is fine I don't know what all the crying is about. I would rather see him clothesline someone then a bunch of moves by crappy midgets that you guys call so called good workers. A guy could have the best moves in the world but if know one cares about him then whats the point.

I'm a rare breed of Batista Likers, I honestly think that there have been time's where he has proven he can be a Good Wrestler.
All these constint Title Shots are annoying, But honestly i would happily have him as WHC over the likes of Khali anyday.

But of course after a Superstar turns face and gets a main event push, he instantly becomes hated... You can't honestly say you believe that's the reason for the hatred can you? Of course not: that's only 30% of the reason. Another 30% is dirtsheet stories and "alledgedly" true facts of his off-camera life. Primary him being the responsible for having Ariel fired... The rest is either people who disliked him from the beginning or people who quickly grew tired of him. But without all the bad press he's gotten, nobody would care SO MUCH about Batista Well, after his comeback until the feud with Taker he didn't exactly set the world on fire, but honestly, the program with King Booker wasn't that brilliant... About the thousand of title shots against Edge... annoying but in all fairness, Batista was the only face over enough to challenge. All the other "fresh" contenders were already booked in other angles or not considered good enough for a main event push. So, to wrap it up: Batista is pretty much as bad as he has been since his early days in Evolution. The difference is he's not working with (and against) Triple H anymore, and the backstage stories didn't help his cause. A lot of the flack he's been getting is due to him being a dick (or so we're led to think so, even though those who met him said otherwise) and to him not having a decent opponent on SmackDown.

I think I was one of the first people on the forum to turn on Batista. I just think he's a bad wrestler, and if he's not involved in a captivating storyline (which he hasn't been since the Triple H feud) it really shows.
I will say though, he has his nights where he seems to be "on" for some reason. His match against Undertaker at Wrestlemania and the one against Ken Kennedy at the Royal Rumble were both good, as was the bullrope match on Smackdown against JBL. It might just be that it's hard for him to develop chemistry in the ring with a lot of different opponents.

I used to be a fan, but now I can't stand him.
This seems to be the case for a lot of people.
Honestly, I can't pinpoint when the transition occured ...

Honestly, I can't pinpoint when the transition occured ... I think mine was the horrible feud with Booker. That's also when the "I can have all the title shots I wan'!" crap started. It really came to a head at Royal Rumble though. I know some people on the forum will laugh at this, especially if they didn't see the match, but that Kennedy vs Batista match put him six feet under for me. Batista was so sluggish and lethargic, and Kennedy was busting out things (remember that reverse deathlock?) he had never used before. It takes two to tango, but that match may have been the most blatant version of someone being carried I've ever seen in my years as a fan. Oh yeah, then Batista sold THE WRONG FREAKING LEG. Ugh. Give it to Taker, or give it to Edge upon his return. One or the other, I just want Batista out of the title picture for a couple of months. It isn't too much to ask.

It happened when he hit the main event. That's the only reason we hate anyone. Which explains the massive CM Punk hate, and all the vitriol piled on top of that damn Undertaker.

Yeah, I'm not buying that either. That theory might be feasible if Batista was a better wrestler.

I spent some time with Batista once, he's really cool, but extremely quiet.
On a side note, I read through some of his book, and as predicted, the quotes that were posted from his book were taken out of context in order to make him look bad.

I don't think he's all that bad. He was a little more liked back in 2005 when he stayed around with an injury after Eddie died, because the WWE needed the star power at the time.
But I think once he had that match at the Hammerstein Ballroom, his incident where King Booker made him look like a lowly peasant, and rumours of him getting Ariel fired made people hate the ground he walks on, lol. I think his matches are decent though. He wrestles quite a bit when I think about it.
