I dunno...that scene in Robocop 2 where the one robot with a human brain goes nuts and rips it's own head off was pretty damn cool. A suicidal robot you don't see everyday. Here it is (the second one). www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJDztqCG91g

If you see it on youtube, watch that guy get blown to peices....one sec he is getting butchered with blood all over but as soon as he lands on that table, his shirt is white again!

RoboCop is one of my favorite movies, EVER! Ask Cornfed, he'll tell ya. I also love RoboCop 2. RoboCop 3.... I own it... and I watch it out of loyalty to RoboCop... but it needs to go away and never be seen again. They need to make RoboCop 4, and have him wake up at the begining and explain away 3 as one of his nightmares.

Robocop was a great piece of dystopic cinema -- even though Robocop saves the day and captures the crime syndicate, New Detroit is still a pile of smoldering rubble and a town that has a lot of problems ahead of it. It is also an excellent analysis of media culture in America, the over-reliance on mechanical means to produce what humans no longer can or want to do for the sake of profit, etc.
And yes, to get back on track -- that scene rocks so hard when the ED goes berserk. Such a darkly sarcastic take on the issues that Verhoeven was discussing with that film. Brilliance on film.

I just picked up the Director's Cut of Robocop a few weeks ago. All I have to say is ...
I'd buy that for a dollar ...
