How is this show still on the the air, every episode Ive ever has them looking at some slow motion video and saying:
"Yeah theres something there it might be a ghost, but it could just be a piece of dust."
They never find anything...

i didnt say anything was fact, yo. i am just saying it's things like THAT that are reasons the show is still on the air.
i'm not gonna try and get into a "was it a ghost was it not a ghost" or anything like that because those arguments are futile. if a believer and non-believer are engaged, it will never end...
i'm just simply saying, they are not doing anything remotely like what the OP said they do in this video... and that kind of excitement is why they are still on air.

I stopped being able to take that show seriously when I found out they worked for roto-rooter....
Nothing against plumbers but parapsychology and plumbing seem to be two mutually exclusive skill sets...

Especially seeing as said plumbers are using such equipment as thermal reading devices not for their intended use and finding "odd results".
They want a reward for misusing equipment.

EVERYTHING is a ghost to those folks

It wasn't being completely serious, I do occasionally watch the show still though and yes, unlike other ones like Paranormal state as stated, I have at least seen episodes of Ghosthunters end with them saying a place probably isn't haunted. Also I saw parts of an episode where they were on my Grandfather's WWII Battleship so they get points for that

If I could be so bold to correct you... you didn't really say anything in the reply to the original poster. All you did was post a link to a youtube video. That's not stating a point, or giving your opinion, or using facts to back up anything... That's just posting a youtube link. Not every discussion has to be an arguement, you know.

I take it the OP never seen their stay in the Stanley Manor(the basis of The Shining)?
There are also a few other episodes that convinced me that they are legit:
- One episode on the video playback of a camera they set up in a room, a chair that otherwise couldn't be moved, skid back several inches, if not half a foot.
- One episode, the motion sensing lights near the top of a flight of stairs kept going off, despite no one physically going up there, and the Hunters assigned to the area gave chase up the stairs and when they got to the top, the only exit was dead bolted shut, so whatever it was couldn't have escaped.
- In Alcatraz, they caught a pair of legs walking towards a camera. They tried to recreate it, and no one on their crew could recreate the walk.
There are more, but that's all I could think off for now.

Not every discussion has to be an arguement, you know. and if i may be so bold as to explain to you why you're simply wrong. there was a question asked in the OP. And the question was "why is the show still on the air"... And the OP used the "fact" that they "never find anything" to back up his question. So with my posting of the youtube link in which they do "find something" that isnt "dust" i completely and fully answered his question. the show is on the air because they, on occasion, DO find something interesting. they don't sit there every episode and say "that could be something or it could be dust"... So in my post i simply posted a youtube link that DID answer his question. it's as simple as saying "yes" or "no" to a "yes or no" question. he asked a question... i answered it. thread over. but good try though, mr meat.

That was a good episode... I met TAPS at last years Pittsburgh comicon. Couldn't have been more nice. I didnt want to talk about ghosts though, so I asked them about CM Punk.

The guys on the show really believe in what they are doing, and are trying to help people. I can see why people look at it as a sham, but everyone on the show comes across as very professional and knowledgable in what they are doing.

these sort of programmes remind me of 80s wrestling,. pretty soon kayfabe will be broken on air, theyll give up on realism and start superimposing cgi ghosts in

If its the one I'm thinking of in the lighthouse, The motion sensors didn't go off they saw something lean over the edge, and heard something. When they got up their the motion lights went off and found the dead bolted door. Also my father watched the USS North Carolina episode, I mentioned in my last post. Anyway, he said they mentioned electromagnetic waves inside the lower decks. Which he (my father not the taps) inside a ship isn't unusual and went on to explain the science behind it ... which I forget the details at the moment. I can't fully judge as I didn't actually see that part of the episode... but if its true they do occasionally make mistakes... in other news my grandfather saw the episode and said they went places on the ship he didn't know existed...

Ah, the Crescent.
I've been there. It's a really cool place. But being down in the morgue is creepy as hell. I got this really weird feeling on the back of my neck like something stabbed me with something, that and being down there just made me feel ill.

Anybody see the Manson murder episode? Where they talk to one of the "ghosts" using yes or no questions?
