Hey 'Quake! First of all, I wish you best of luck in your recovery. I hope you are able to have a happy holiday season. My question is, have you ever considered writing an autobiography? I would not only be interested to read about your professional wrestling career, but also your experience with Sumo. I'm wondering how a white guy from Canada would have gotten into the sport in the first place.

I have a question. Back in late 2001 into 2002 Jimmy Hart was starting a wrestling promotion called the XWF which had a lot of guys that you worked with in it. Biefly Hogan. But men like Greg Valentine, Duugan, Piper, Heenan,Nasty Boys, LOD and Henning. I notice on the roster of there old shit had Typhoon on.
I know it didn't last that long but in the time it did. I always wondered since back then you still could wrestle. Did Jimmy or anybody ever contracted you in may be apart of the XWF at anytime? And did you have any interest in it weither or not they did contract you.
Thanks

Hi Mr. Tenta. I hope everything is going well for you. I am watching WMVI with my eight year old son. He really likes that "Earthquake guy". We've had to rewind your parts several times. I noticed that your mouth was bleeding after your match with Hercules. Do you remember what happened? Best wishes to you and your family.

Hey quake, get well soon.
I have a few question for you ;D
1. During Royal Rumble 92 Sid elimanted Hogan and he got a huge pop from the crowd, when Hogan helped Flair eliminate Sid the crowd started booing Hogan. Do you think the fans were starting to get bored of the whole Hulkamania thing? And ive heard the WWF Edited the crowd to cheer Hogan.
2. What was Rick Rudes reasons for leaving the WWF after Summerslam 90? In my opinion they should have put the belt on him rather than Warrior dropping it to Slaughter.
3. Who in your opinion is the greatest tag team of all time?
4. Who's idea was it for the push up contest? I thought it was great ;D It was also a great way to get heat from the crowd.

Mr. Tenta, if you have not already, could you explain more about the "shark" tattoo situation ? I remember back in the 80s, Barry Darsow would simply cover his tattoo with a shoulder pad when he played Smash so the fans would not recognize him from any previous gimmicks. Was the option ever thrown at you to simply cover up the tattoo or wear a long sleeve shirt ? Also was it a big struggle between you and the WCW creative team (I am assuming Bishoff) to change to change the tattoo ?

Hey John, I recall a match at the Boston Garden when you were facing Hogan (having him in a Boston Crab) and a fan came out of the stands and started pounding on you...how many times has something like this happened and what is going through your mind when it does? Also, in late 92 early 93 the WWF started to really bury The Natural Disasters and the tag division went way downhill (probably lasted 4 or 5 years). Why were they so quick to pull the plug on the division?

I was just curious what do you think of the whole Eugene Character!!!
I remember the Brother Love show too!! I remember writing to Hogan( I wasnt a Hulkamaniac but I hated what u did to him!!)
Can u tell me more about you personally!! How many kids u have? There ages?? Are u Married N How long have you been??? etc.
Also What was Hacksaw Jim Duggan like??? Ive emailed him a few times, but he never wanted to talk about the business
If Vince wanted to bring your back??? What would u want to do if he gave you complete control over your character/storylines etc.??

Hey. I was a big fan of yours when I was a kid. I think I first saw you on at the 1995 Uncensored pay-per-view against Macho Man Randy Savage (maybe not the best place to watch a good John Tenta match). But you were great in the WWE.
Anyway, my question is: Because you appeared during the 1993 Royal Rumble, and then you showed up at Wrestlemania X. Did you take a long break between 1993 and 1994?

Dear Mr Tenta i just want to say that i really feel your struggle with your chemo and your therapy with cancer. Last July my mother was diagnosed with aplastic anemia and she had 4 rounds of chemo and it has been 6 months of recovery and still no white blood cells in her body, she goes weekly for platelets and blood but her body is still failing to make white cells. I am only 25 and she is 48. My dad is handling it well with taking care of her but it is coming down to the possible end and i hate accepting that. I love my mom and don't want her to be in pain. I just want you to know that i am praying for you and your family and i hope you get better, you are a great person and an inspiration to many. Thanks for your time and i hope to maybe hear from you one day. Thanks Quake. sincerely your friend matt

I don't watch a lot of wrestling, but it always has been violent- it's wrestling! I just don't enjoy the smut, as I can't watch it with my son, he's only 12.
I am in the middle of writing my book right now. I have a few chapters written already, but have just been so tired lately, that it takes time. I will discuss whatever I felt was important, or entertaining in my life. RD has read a small sample and seems to have enjoyed it.
I contacted XWF, but apparently I wasn't good enough for them. And Jimmy, "had no power to hire."
Hercules potatoed me.
NOBODY replaces Andre-NOBODY!
I think people were ready for something new in regard to Hogan. Just as they eventually tired from the NWO in WCW, you have to give them something new. Don't know about Rude's decision. I liked the British Bulldogs a lot, but there are so many teams I never got to see. Push up contest must have been Pat Patterson's idea.
The tattoo changing was my own personal choosing, one I regret.
No fan ever "beat on me." One did come in but I just pushed him down, and the cops got him. If anyone "pounded" on me, it would have got ugly, but I saw no threat. Creative team "didn't have anything" for the Disasters.
Don't have Eugene opinion, one way or the other. I have three kids. Jeff, 22, lives in Florida, married, and expecting child in July. Joanna, 16, an "A" student, is graduating, and going to college in the fall. (not LSU, but still a major college in Texas) John, 12 is another "A"student that started football this year. He is 5'8", 190 pounds! I will be married 18 years this June, to my wife Josie. Duggan's pretty cool. I would return to WWE (but can't wrestle) as long as my work would not embarrass myself, or family.
My mind is a blur on the timeline of my career.I went to Japan for awhile, back to WWF then onto WCW.
In '85 I was still an LSU Tiger. I didn't wrestle until '87 in Japan.
Thanks for well wishes Matt.
I actually gave that doll to a neighbor kid a few years ago during moving.

Some wrestler's I'm sure care more about music than others. I never rocked the boat and took what I was given. Although I don't like ICP, personally, I liked the odditties theme music. I don't know details to using licensed music, but I would guess some bands want their music played for the publicity, and to reach their target audience.
I've never heard of "The Dell". Just kidding. Spent way too much time there at one point!
I enjoyed almost everywhere. Boston Gardens was always cool to me for some reason. Enjoyed most of Texas, and California. For easy travel, and food!
I'm typeII diabetic using Avandia, and glucotrol xl. They took me off glucophage because of my kidney function.
I left the tattoo alone after that.
Don't remember exact years. Check the pro wrestling encyclopedia for fans that want EXACT details. LOL!

was 1.6 yesterday, I think, but has been over 2. Not as critical as yours, I guess, but it keeps them concerned. Good luck, my friend.

Dear John,
I'll keep this quick. A few weeks after you appeared at Wrestlemania in 2001, i had the distinct pleasure of contacting you on the phone, telling you my dream of being a wrestler. (at the time , you were running a promotion.) I told you why i wanted to be in it, what i wanted to get out of it, and what would make me happy. At the end of what I said, you told me.."there are no guarentees, but you certainly have the right attitude for it."
I never forgot that encouragement, and now almost 5 years later sir, i'm still out there, busting my butt, keeping a good attitude, and making sure at least everyone around me has a pleasant experience. As pleasant as the experience i had talking with you about my dream.
I just wanted to say thank you for both listening, and encouraging me that day, 5 years down the road it's brought me to business & life of things i never thought possible, and i'm prouder then ever to say i'm a wrestler.
God Bless, Taylor Mcknight

I don't know if this one has been asked, but do you have a thropy room where you keep your wrest;ing belts and posters and such? Did vince actually give guys belts to keep after they won them?
I can somehow picture a WWF tag belt on your fireplace mantle.

Hey 'Quake, just a quick question here. My dad's favorite wrestler is Superstar Billy Graham, he grew up watching him and I was wondering if you ever met him. If you did, what was your opinion of him and do you have any clue as to what he is doing now? Thanks.
