I think Cena is more upset that Rock seems to "HIDE" from his Pro Wrestling days. Like he is ashamed of it. "Who's The Rock? I'm Dwayne Johnson. Yeah heaven forbid he wants to be known by his real name and not some gimmick name. Hulk Hogan I'm looking at you.

Something tells me a guy who just finished presenting at the Oscars cares what Cena thinks.

I don't think it's an issue of Rock leaving, if this thread says anything, most people are proud that Rock was able to go in one piece. It's a matter of his refusal nowadays to acknowledge his wrestling career that's bothering Cena, IMO. He doesn't need to acknowledge his wrestling career, though. Everyone can see it on DVDs, YouTube, DailyMotion, WWE.com, the works. He's done everything he's wanted to do in Pro Wrestling and now he's been given the oppertunity to do something different and wants to focus on that. It's not 'ignoring the industry' it's focusing on another project. It's like with anyone who did SNL. Take Will Ferrell for instance. He's cemented himself on his own as a successful comedic actor. But without SNL, he probably wouldn't have got there. When you interview him, you don't speak to him about SNL, you speak to him about Semi Pro. Because that's where he is right now and has rised above SNL. Not saying he isn't greatful for it, it's just he's focusing on other things right now. That's the thing though. Nobody saying he HAS to acknowledge his past, so the fact that he isn't turns some people, like Cena (ever the company man and wrestling fan) off. It's not like Rock has to say "I used to be a wrestler" at every interview but that he only does it when pressed is what bothers me. Like I said earlier, good for Rock for getting out when he did but I don't want to see him on WWE TV again if he doesn't want to be there.

I don't really see anything wrong with going under a stage name, but to each his own I guess. It doesn't sound as bad as Warrior Warrior, but I dunno.

It's probably a tad bit of jealousy coming from Cena.
I mean, The Rock is the only wrestler that I can think of that left in his prime. He'd done everything in wrestling, so why stick around when there was nothing left to do. Sure, they could have always found a spot for him, he could have won a few more championships, but eventually the fans would have turned on him and he'd been regarded as someone who held talent down, or something like that.
Hogan, Austin and Cena all want to be movie stars, but thus far none have them have reached the level that The Rock has.

Cena needs to just be quiet. He acts like he knows The Rock personally through his actions. Cena sounds like he is angry that he can never become the Rock. John should just keep being Superman and pathetically wrestle like he has been.

...or Cena could be working everyone to set up a Rock v Cena dream match at some point.
The Rock just recently agreed to come back. Why have one of your top guys bury him in the press now. The timing of this is very fishy. Plus this is Cena we're talking about. He usually uses much better judgement than this and comes off as a better person than to really take these shots. If this was Orton or Kennedy shooting...ok, they're probably just in business for themselves. But, Cena? This seems really intriguing. Who knows how much The Rock agreed to come back for.

I just wathced his promo when Austin walked out, so I've a little peeved. You'll NEVER leave rock? Right.
I actually don't care that he left. Good for him, but if I grew up wanting to do something, did it and was one of the best ever at it, I'd probably enjoy talking about it and not ashamed of it.

The UK Sun isn't the most reliable paper so I'd take it with a grain of salt. If Cena did make those comments, then he's a ****ing idiot.
The Rock was given an opportunity to go into a profession that payed more, made him more famous, and didn't destroy his body. He would have been a fool not to have taken it. Acting is what he wants to do so why should he have to keep coming back to the company.
Actually. I give him credit for getting out of a profession that most people involved in never leave or can live without. A lot of guys destroy themselves physically (Mick Foley, Dynamite Kid) or mentally (Chris Benoit) and Rock has chosen not to be one of those guys. Very smart, smart move.

How could he know he was going to leave and besides as mentioned before it was WWE who opted not to renew the contract. People change their minds all the time in life, it doesn't make them bad people. If Rock wants to leave and make movies, that's his business.

Now people are crying about Rock isnt bringing up his wrestling past in interviews??? Come on. Im sure Reggie Miller still loves basketball and still loves the Pacers. He wouldnt be a millionaire if it wasnt for the name he made from the NBA. He should come back too right? This is ridiculous. Dwayne Johnson has children to raise. He owes something to them. He owes something to his family. He is no longer under contract to WWE. Its over. At this point, I hope he never appears in WWE again due to some of the treatment he gets.

Scorpion King (2002) Executive Producer-Vince McMahon The Rundown (2003) Executive Producer-Vince McMahon Walking Tall (2004) Executive Producer-Vince McMahon The Rock never took a hiatus as when he made those movies, money went right into Vince's pocket to start WWE Films. Who is about to film his second WWE Films movie?

Exactly. He doesn't owe any of us anything, he's done his time already.
And that article screams FAKE.

For me, I don't really care if he left, but The Rock wouldn't be The Rock without pro wrestling. He'd be Dwayne Johnson, overly muscled poolboy somewhere in Florida. Hollywood would never have looked at him twice if he hadn't been on top at the peak of the industry. I could see how the seeming lack of appreciation could be construed as insulting. A WWE without the Rock is a WWE that plummets in 1999 and gives WCW new life.
