According to the local news reports, it was a wildfire. So Hardy lives out of town and in a forest or something? I really wonder what caused the fire.

Wow, I',m speechless, that's just unbelieveble and I feel so bad for Jeff. Getting suspended for 60 days right in the middle of his career taking the biggest leap thus far, and then to have your house burned down and loose your pet............wow.
I'll keep you in my prayers Jeff, here's to a full physical, mental, and spiritual recovery.
I'm thinking that Vince Mcmahon might just buy him a new house, he's done things like that before.

I remember watching the Hardy Boys stuff they used to do on WWE Confidential, and I remember the Hardy family home being a pretty big expanse. I especially remember them having a motocross ramp, so I wouldn't expect Jeff or Matt to live in a urban area. Plus, my mom's family is from NC, and my experience is that people do like to live in wooded area out there. ;D

Both Matt and Jeff live WAY off the beaten path in a town of about 200 people. Most of which probably do not practice fire safety seeing how Matt's "garbage fires" are reoccurring segments on The Hardy Show. A wildfire actually makes sense seeing as Jeff's land is surrounded by bamboo and such, not to mention how those pre-fab houses go up like brush and are known death traps.

I wonder why WWE.com won't acknowledge that. They don't even have the news up on Industry News. I think the WWE is not going to be reporting on the more negative things that happen, judging from their coverage so far.

I feel really bad, not to sound materialistic or anything like that, but Jeff had ALOT of stuff.
I mean ALOT.

You just gotta be careful what you put in there. At my old house, we had a cement burning pit to do that in and occassionally would pile stuff in the garden as burning the ground every other year or so is good for the soil. You do need a bit of common sense when setting them up. Our burn pit was far from our house and on ground that was clay. They're not dangerous as long as you keep an eye on the fire and make sure it's extinguished properly. I seriously doubt this is the problem, seeing as how TMZ said Jeff lived in a double wide. Trailers are designed in a way that when a fire breaks out, you can basically kiss the place goodbye as soon as it starts. Oh, and another useless fire fact... a surprising bit of fires that burn down homes are from those electric air fresheners. However, most aren't ever traced back to those as all that's usually left are the two metal prongs in the outlet. You're better off to use a spray or a candle in a jar in a nice open and cleared space and keep an eye on it.

Matt often threw in aerosol cans for fun and effect...
But anyway, yeah. I don't know if there actually is a difference, but Jeff's home was a pre-fab, and I'm not sure if that constitutes as a trailer. He did have a couple trailers on the land, though. One being his music studio. The one question I have is if those are gone too.

This is horrible. First you get suspended from your job, then you come home and find out that not only you lost your home and stuff, but your dog also. If it were me, I'd have snapped and gone on a killing spree.
Jeff Hardy, I can only hope that you can pull through this and that you luck gets better.

This may be WWE's time to show a little support. While I don't think bringing him back early from his suspension is the right thing to do, as he wouldn't get cleaned up if he did, I think they need to do something to help him out or it may just make him decide to go elsewhere. JR's thing seemed to carry the 'we're sorry but see what happens' kind of vibe to it to me.

I'm calling bullshit on this. I live 20 minutes away from Jeff and there has been no reports or people talking about this. Hell, even the local newspaper today didn't say anything about a home being destroyed.

Hell, even the local newspaper today didn't say anything about a home being destroyed. You say you live 20 minutes away, which means you have a general idea of where his house is, correct? Then take the drive over, take some pictures, and prove it one way or another. I personally think WWE.com and other sites wouldn't be reporting it if it weren't true.

I don't see it on WWE.com And yeah, I have an idea of where he lives, don't know the exact location though. I've been to Matt's house before however. Reguardless, I'm not going to travel 20 minutes to "prove" you anything. I'm just saying, I think if it was legit the local f***ing newspaper or their website would report this news. Maybe it is, maybe it is, but I just don't believe everything I read on the internet. Plus, we had rain and tornadoes last night, if anything I'd think a tornado incident would be more probable.

From Wrestlezone.com: New details have came to light about the Jeff Hardy house fire. WRAL out of Cameron report that:
The fire burned woods off Lizzy Jeter Lane and a dead-end road off N.C. Highway 24/27. No one was injured in the fire, but one structure (Hardy's house) and several vehicles were damaged.
The blaze is not being treated as suspicious and has been put down to a natural wild fire.link: www.wral.com/news/news_briefs/story/2582362/

JEFF HARDY HOUSE FIRE DUE TO 'UNDETERMINED CAUSE' ACCORDING TO LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT, HARDY NOT SUSPECTED OF WRONGDOING by Mike Johnson @ 12:22 PM on 3/16/2008
TMZ.com reported the following update in regard to the house fire that consumed Jeff Hardy's home:
Captain Bruner of the Cameron Fire Department said that the Moore County Fire Department has ruled the cause of the fire that claimed wrestler Jeff Hardy's home as "undetermined." Bruner said around 11:30 PM the blaze was "paged out as a wildfire" -- because the citizens that made the call only saw the fire through some woods. Three minutes later another call was made -- this time specifically naming the Hardy residence as the location of the fire. When firemen arrived at the scene, Hardy's home was "fully engulfed." Because the home was "burnt so bad," the Moore County Fire officials investigating the blaze ruled it "undetermined. "Foul play on the part of Jeff Hardy is not being investigated -- because Jeff Hardy told Captain Bruner that he didn't have insurance on his home.
Thanks to everyone who sent that along.
