Meltzer is reporting that fans attending the Hall of Fame Ceremony the night before WrestleMania will have to follow a dress code or will not be allowed in, whether they have a ticket or not. The code is "business attire". It's not expected to be strict, just no t-shirts, tank tops, jeans, etc. WWE might be assuming that the fans will act less rowdy and more "respectful" if they have to somewhat dress up.

If that's true,it makes sense. The Hall of Fame is far more intimate than just a regular wrestling event and should be treated accordingly. I don't know if clothes will effect the behavior of some of the more rowdy fans but it would definitely send a message to them about how the company expects them to act. Though I believe it would also help if they didn't sell alcholic beverages at the ceremony. Is beer sold at the event?

I think it has to do more with being on camera. You don't really want a shot of wrestlers in tuxes, the divas in dressed and all...then fatso in his "Word Life" Tshirt and Hulkamania headband.

I would rather see Dusty or Steamboat induct Flair instead of Trips.

Knew it would be HHH. How much of Flair's speech will be done with his tongue up HHH's ass?
The dress code makes sense and hopefully they'll crack down on the rowdy fans. Someone suggested last year that attendance at the Hall of Fame ceremony should be part of the Wrestlemania package and if fans are disrespectful, they should get one warning and if they repeat, they should be gone. I agree with that.
You know these "fans" won't shut up when Rock is up there.

You know it will be a repeat of Hulk hogan's hall of fame induction: 10 minutes of the millions and millions chanting the rocks name and of course ............ "One more match! One more Match!" over and over for the next five.... and that's the end of the televised portion of the Hall of Fame Ceremony.

I just read something on lordsofpain or gerweck that they've sold 7500 tickets out of 10,000 for the HOF ceremony so far.

That's what I'm thinking, or hoping for. If next year is in Texas, we need a TEXAS SIZED, HOF induction class. Funks, Hansen (hey you never know, I think they could get most of his All Japan footage, and they have that match with Hogan in their library), Fritz Von Erich, Gory Guerrero... Most likely if Gory goes in it will be with his entire family. Because he did not do as much in the USA as his sons, and if you had to do single induction from that family not named Eddie it would be Chavo, who was huge in Houston and San Antonio. It will probably be Paul Boesch George Wagner Funks Von Erichs and 1 or 2 other non regional ones.

Unless they're in one of their semi-regular tiffs again by that point... I suspect either Jake or DiBiase will go in next year too. They GOTTA put one or both of them in the HOF soon...

Austin in the Hall of Fame next, I would have said probably not a long while back but since they inducted Eddie way to early, they probably will. Wonder if they'll ever induct Owen Hart-totally should have went in before Eddie did.

Why would you induct Austin already? Theres plenty of time and Austin could be inducted in parctically any state and it'd be huge. Certain guys are more popular from the terratory days in only one region so I think its a much bigger deal to induct them in their hometown than a global superstar like Austin.

WWE Magazine said Dibiase is a guaranteed Hall of Famer, guess they meant any year now.

That was the point I was arguing against. Why does it have to be in his hometown? He's going to get a tremendous reception whether its in Texas or Tacoma. Guys like The Von Erichs i can understand, but Austin could go in at anytime.

Why not make it special for Austin by doing it in his home state and with some of the guy he grew up watching in the Von Erichs? Let him be the draw of the show like Flair is for this years. As sad as it is for me to say it, not many would tune in for the Von Erichs or the others listed but, they will for Austin. It would also give them the regional theme they seem to be wanting to do (like this year with FLA and the North the year before). Beside, what other big time names (mostly modern that could headline a class I guess I am going for) are there left to induct other than him?

Well theres plenty of big names, but as you see with this year the majority of the (undercard?) HOF inducties have ties to Florida and the main draw Flair has very little except the occasional title defense down there with the NWA title. He doesn't live there or anything that I know of. I guess if they wanted to make the main inductee regional they could have held off Dusty Rhodes and used him this year or next year.
