I've been looking forward to this month of programming since they started running "October is Jericho" promos, pretty solid start.

I meanted to click the section to check out the newest episode of the History of Monday Night Raw, ended up watching "Break the Walls Down." I have zero by way of regrets on that decision. Although we are fastly approaching the "Higher Power" episode of Raw. It's crazy to me how jampacked episodes from 97-99 seem to be with classic moments. I watched the vast majority of 98-02 first run and even I had forgotten how much stuff they used to get into episodes that was absolutely more memorable than today's product. f***ing Austin throwing the IC title off the bridge was the segment literally right before "The Cure for the Common Show" promo. On the episode where Mark Henry debuted no less. I'd really love to do a podcast about the Monday Night Wars series, watching both Raw and Nitro, reviewing both shows and talking about the overall historical significance of the episodes but I doubt I could find a partner for that sort of endeavour.

I watched Worldwide this morning and had a good chuckle at Tony Schiavone promising "an exciting hour of WWW (sic) action."
I also found it interesting that when Big Van Vader came to the ring, his original, classic WCW theme played instead of an in-house soundalike. So either WWE acquired the rights to the music, or someone in editing fell asleep at the switch.

I've noticed that some episodes of Raw on the Monday Night Wars are still censored and others aren't.

Just finished the MNWs and History of Monday Night Raw for the week, time for Uncensored '98!
Two asides briefly. First, I'm still really considering doing a MNW podcast that stays "current" with what WWE Classics is showing so if anyone with the channel wants in on that action, lemme know. Second, we're right after Backlash '99 on the History of Monday Night Raw and that begs the question...will Raw is Owen air in a few weeks? I know I won't be able to watch it because I just f***ing can't do it, but I'm curious.

Months is what I meant but thanks to being scattered after work, I f***ed that one up. Still, kind of a depressing thought really. I remember watching these episodes live when they aired but now that I'm older there's this weird sense of dread creeping in as we approach the end of Owen's life. I know I won't be able to watch the episode, I can't even watch segments of Youtube without crying, but it's fascinating that they will likely air it. I'm not gonna lie, all the Owen Hart I get to see is really one of the biggest pluses of this channel, I love the Rocket.

I watched Mania a few days ago and noticed something very interesting.
Part of the show focused on WWE's charitable efforts. After showing footage of WWE stars at various fundraisers and awareness campaigns--remember the Headlock on Hunger?--the final frame was a picture of Vince McMahon. At the bottom of the picture was this:
"Vince McMahon President and CEO Titan Sports World Wrestling Federation"
Yep, they pretty much outed Vince as the owner of the company! Now remember that this was 1993, when most fans only knew him as the lead announcer on WWE's television programs. Maybe some older fans knew about his "other" job but seeing as Mania ran on Saturday mornings and was targeted at kids, this was a definite departure from the show's usual, light-hearted wacky tone.
Judging from next month's theme, someone at WWE stumbled across that mocked-up DX vs. NWO Survivor Series poster from a few years ago.
