I swear, today couldn't go by any slower. I've seen like 4 episodes of the television show and am about to throw on Batman Begins. Midnight cannot come any slower. Yeah, I watched Batman Begins yesterday thinking it would just be a good refresher... But then at the end, when he flips over the Joker card... It just reminded me that I've been waiting for this movie for years now, and time is passing slower and slower. Yeah seriously, now I kind of wanna hold off on watching Batman Begins until just before I leave the house, so there's no delay.

I'm seriously considering taking the multiple bus transfers I need to get to a theater on Friday. This is the first movie that I've felt I have to see opening day in a long time

I don't know about the rest of you, but in NY, the hype is at a FEVER PITCH. It's pretty insane, one theater in NYC has showings from 12:01, then like every half hour into the next day. What's more insane was I was considering the 6:00AM showing before work.

Is there anyone here who isn't that excited about the movie? I mean, I'm sort of excited. But I dunno, I'm just not messing myself like the rest of you seem to be.

I might download it or see it next week. I'm not really "excited" to see it, but I'm looking forward to watching it. Batman Begins was disappointing IMO, so my hopes aren't as high as some other people here.

But the movie sounds like...the good parts of Batman Begins (it wasnt ALL great all the way though) just...times 10x and throughout the whole movie. But I guess Ill have to wait to see the movie before I say all that for sure. And just think...somewhere, right now, some lucky WrestleCrappers are having some BatBliss...

The film is now currently #4 on IMDB's Top 250. But I hear it's quite common for a new good film to get into the top 250 in it's first week and then dropping down or out after everything settles down. But I have never seen a film go straight into the top 5. Only 2 days to go before I see it

I just got back from watching it. You crappers must see this movie. Joker was played perfectly by Heath Ledger.

Go see this smurfing movie. Just beautiful. Ledger has surpassed Nicholson as far as Joker. The transformation of Dent into Two Face was fantastic. Everything just was so good. A bit fast at times, but just too much awesomeness to comprehend.
My personal favorite part was the Joker's magic trick with the pencil.
Go see this smurfing movie. Just go, watch and enjoy.

Just saw it. My thoughts.
Ledger would deserve any posthumous Oscar they gave him. Simply put, they guy wasn't acting. He was that role. When the Joker responds to any character with his twisted humor, with lesser actors it would come across as purposeful attempt to be cruel or to taunt. In this film though, its how the Joker thinks. He doesn't adhere in any way to Gotham's rules or laws. He is independent of everything, except Batman someone he revels in battling, both mentally and physically. In a review Ebert called Joker in the movie the tempter of Gotham. And he's right. The combination of writing and Ledger's performance makes the Joker into a twisted Mephistopheles. He gets the joke. Everyone else suffers because they don't.
Eckhart is great as well. Without giving away too much, Harvey Dent along with Batman bears the weight of the city on his shoulders. For the time tested story of a good man descending into the abyss, he plays every tragic note tremendously.
Bale gets much more to play with as well. The shift from brooding vigilante to seemingly thoughtless playboy is effortless, and the constant search by Bruce Wayne to figure out who he is, and what he should be doing, is almost hard to watch, and makes his story not merely about a hero trying to stop a villian.
As a film in general, I rarely got a comic book vibe from it. Its a gritty crime drama, with black and white solutions not always suceeding, and shows the realistic tolls that living in a place like Gotham does to people. Even if you're not a fan of Batman or comics at all, the film should be seen just to witness the battle for a city's soul, and whether there are villians or heroes, what kind of people we really are.
