I don't think so, cause when I had my first PS3 I downloaded over 1,000 porn files. And not a single virus. I think because the PS3 doesn't use Windows. It uses a specially created operating system, the Cross Media Bar(or XMB). The only other OS I know the PS3 can use is Linux.

People have tried to make viruses for it, but so far no go. What can happen though is they can corrupt your data. It doesn't affect game files so far. But you can lose memory permanently to it supposedly.

I saw that God of War 3 was mentioned a couple of times, but also, DC Universe Online. That's gonna be PC/PS3 game that is probably going to make my buy a PS3.

God of War III is the only correct answer I've seen.

God of War III is the only correct answer I've seen. I'm not sure if that is a good thing, considering that the game isn't coming out until October 09... and even though no one asked for my opinion, I have no interest in that game whatsoever because I hate the God of War series almost as much as the other popular game series whose name is abbreviated GoW. Then again, some of you may have already noticed that I don't like anything that isn't an RPG, so don't take me too seriously here. ;D

After three pages your already convinced one way or the other.
I'm spoilt so I got mine for free.
I personally like that it has wifi without having to pay an extra hundred if you didn't buy the expensive 360.
Other then that it has Suikoden on the PS3 network for six bucks, when it's like fifty on Ebay.
and ahhh.
most games that are for both are better on the 360.
and ummm.
Many of the PS3 games are flawed in one way or another.
So seriously it's a matter of like a couple games.
If you can get one cheap or free bang up deal.
Not worth the price of admission.
and is the only system I the game junkie did not get on launch day.

You can play it when your 360 inevitably breaks?
Seriously, though, there's little point in getting both systems with how this generation is playing out. Both systems have nearly identical libraries, just a few exclusives we dilude ourselves into thinking are magnificent achievements instead of what they are (retreads, basically). Its a good BluRay player and I prefer overproduced games with excessive cut scenes for exclusives as apposed to generic shooters, so it works alright for me. I'd personally still buy a PS3 before a 360, but if you're just buying it for a BluRay player, I'd reconsider and hold off on purchasing one for a while.

Why get a PS3? That, and I'm pretty sure Rip supports it.

The damn thing works. Plain and simple.
I just had a third 360 RRoD on me and this is where I call it quits. The thing rings, then works, then freezes, works, etc. I just got off the phone with Microsoft to send away for repairs (for free, thank god), and I am undecided what I will do when it returns, be it to sell the damn thing or keep it, thus salvaging some sort of value with the games and points I have bought.
And as far as exclusivity goes, I'm going with PS3 from what I am seeing. God of War III, Killzone 2, and MGS4 are all great pushes for me. Add in all the games I like are multi-platform such as NHL 09, and the only real exclusive on 360 that catches me is the Gears franchise.
Blu-Ray is a bonus. All of my friends have made the jump to PS3 and having a blast on Call of Duty: World at War, and I will be joining them later this week. Thank god for two paid holidays and a wonderful girlfriend who is willing to chip in as a Valentine's/6 month/Birthday gift (February \m/). She's paying nearly half for this as a gift. God bless her.
So yeah, the damn thing works. If it breaks, it's not an epidemic like this friggin' RRoD. Get it.

Hell one reason alone I back the PS3 is cause I spent nearly all of the previous generation with a PS2(didn't get a GameCube till January 2006 when they were like $100 new), and thusly my most favorite franchises became what were on the PS2.

Not even true now days Outside of Fallout 3(and Bethesda should have done better, they did great with Oblivion). Some games are even better on PS3. And most are even now.

Well, I'm sure some of you will be happy to know that tomorrow, if all goes well, I will be purchasing an 80gb PlayStation 3. Don't care about backwards compatibility, I already have a very modded PS2 to handle that noise. I ran into some money rather recently due to the holidays/work and it's pretty much paid for now. Now to figure out which one game I'm going to own on it...hmm. Maybe I'll just get a Gamefly account.
