Seriously, some people really need to calm down.
I don't care how crappy a day or week you've had, seriously chill out.

Well, that'll learn him.

This may be somewhat irrevelant, but what was the movie playing? For all we know, the atmosphere of a movie can influenece a person's emotional state.

I mean whoever talks during a movie has it coming amirite? Honestly though, that seems like the shooter was a real nutcase.

If the guy really shot a guy in front of the guy's family, yeah, throw him in jail for life.
Hell, do it anyway, he's an accident waiting to happen. Again.

One time when i was 13 I saw Demolition Man with my friends.. a group of guys we knew from school were sitting a few rows in front.. we talked and they went to get pop corn, they can back and threw a peice of popcorn at me. i threw whatever the hell i was eating.. some guy from the back on the theatre grabed me by the neck and started yelling at me... nobody came to my aid, the guy went back to his seat. dont know what to make of the situation in myolder years. but if i had a time machine and the knowledge i have today, i'd be bac there with a quickness.

You know, if he'd just punched the guy in the face I'd be completely on his side. Shooting people is bad, sir!

You know, if he'd just punched the guy in the face I'd be completely on his side. Shooting people is bad, sir! Seriously. A KO punch would have made me this guy's biggest fan. But this? Too far. Actually, hitting the person would have been logically and morally wrong too...but it would have been better than shooting the man.

You know, after a long day at work, you go to a movie and spend 20 bucks on ticket and popcorn, then some jackass brings his kids cause hes too cheap to hire a sitter and on top of that he is a talking douche as well. Shooting may have been a bit far, but it was just an arm.
If the theatre isn't willing to at least promote good behavior during a movie, then more power to the guys who actually enforce it(even though gun was a wee bit to far).

This will eventually be worked into my stand up routine. ...And what's the deal with movie theatre food? I mean your drink size choices are large, abnormally large and excruciatingly large? Do they want me to piss all over the screen while I'm doing the Pee Wee Herman shuffle?

Isn't it funny how sitting through movies with talking idiots can push us to the point of accepting a guy getting punched in the face as respectable behavior?
