Let's say you put someone in front of the net and let him deflect pucks in, and he scored 50 goals; Gretzky made a career like that. Semin is talking big right now, see if he's still on top at the All Star break. Gretzky wasn't standing in front of the net deflecting pucks in. In fact, I can't say as I ever saw him score like that, though I'm sure he had a few. There's a reason the area behind the net is called Gretzky's Office, not the area in front.

And what the @#$% happened to the Rags and Fishsticks tonight?! Sweet Jebus! Whatever the Devils had must've spread on to them in the 3rd period. Terrible. At least when we embarrassed ourselves against Toronto, we still got a point out of it. ;D ...I feel so dirty writing that, as if that made it any better.

Later in his career he spent a lot of time just off to the goalie's left side, deflecting pucks in.

Much needed win by the Pens on the road. Stopped the bleeding. Didn't really look like they were playing that much better as a team, but put forth some wonderful individual efforts. Malkin, Satan, Talbot.
Kudos to Geno for passing the puck to Jordan Staal so that he could get the empty netter and snap his scoring slump. He coulda got the goal for himself.
YAY PENS !!!

Looking at replays, it's hard to tell if it's serious or not (God knows you can't trust hockey teams to give honest injury forecasts). Marty pulls his arm in like it really got strained, but he hesitates to allow the ref to blow the whistle.
That at least gives me hope, that maybe he wasn't hurt badly enough that his first reflex would be to just collapse in pain. Hopefully he just had a muscle pull.
If it's a tear, I'll smash my head repeatedly against the nearest wall.

From what I saw, I'm calling bullshit on Marty hurting his arm. I'm pretty sure it's his groin. Watch the replay, his leg goes out funny, he covers his groin first, then his arm.

Embarrassing 3rd period by the rangers, and to Toronto of all teams.
Marty being hurt is sucks,i'm amazed that he's been as durable as he has been over his career and this is the first real injury i remember.
Anyone see the highlights of the Stars/Bruins game? That looked like one hell of a chippy game, too bad they don't play each other more often

Well he truely went down when he got wacked in the arm so I'm guessing since goalies get tend to hit with sticks a lot that its his arm to have it take him out.

Also, he skated off just fine, which likely would've been tough with a groin pull.

Bruins lay a beating (literally) on Dallas last night. Nice 5-1 win and some old school brawling.

Chicago wins a shoot-out against Columbus 4-3. They are the last team in the Western Conference to finally get a win on the road. (They are still undefeated at home.) The 'Hawks will host 6 of their next 7 at the UC. (Then the dreaded "circus" tour, which kills them early.)
Did anybody outside of the Chicago market get to see the game on WGN? (Just wondered; wouldn't surprise me if they blacked it out.) They did an okay job with it. They had a silly skit with the Hawks announcer and the 'Hawks mascot living as the Odd Couple during 2nd intermission.

Funny story. Because of there being 3 hockey teams in the area and only 2 MSG networks (the networks that show the games and the Knicks as well.) They sometimes have to show the game on like the channel normally used for the channel listings or something not really important like they did for the Devils game yesterday. Now since this is a one off channel there is no HD broadcast of the game. My cousin was telling me how last time they did that this year he called up and complained and got half off the bill.
Why because they run a commercial where they say catch all the Devils games in HD on the cable system or something along those lines implying every game is in HD. Now if they said something about all the Devils games that will be in HD than he probably wouldn't have a case... When ever I saw the commercial before he told me he did that the same thought always ran in my head too.

Cablevision did make an announcement before the start of the season that you'd be able to see 72 out of 82 Devils games in HD...but they never say that in their commercials.

Exactly he called them up complained enough and got half off his bill... He's going to do that again for yesterday's game... worth a shot.
