I believe the Lee vs. Liefeld is the Helicarrier from their Heroes Reborn period, so while he swiped or even traced, it could have been done in context of that story. Something I read was that Liefeld copied panel to panel The Teen Titans from George Perez for New Mutants, there was an uproar and he explained it was a homage. Don't know if it's true. Personally, I think the Isserman is the worst. Much like the aforementioned Greg Land, he essentially traced it. With the only thing different is the none presence of her feet. HomageEg. Venture Bros. pays homage to Jonny Quest through parody. Rip-offEg. Renegade was a rip-off of The Ultimate Warrior by being a half-assed clone. Those are important parallels to draw. Most people pay homage by making references of a somewhat respectful or inspirational nature to what came before them. When people reproduce another person's work piece for piece, especially when paying them no credit for it, it's a rip-off.

That put it more succinctly that I did, but that's essentially the point I was getting at right there.

in one image: Thor, god of thunder, one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Universe and indeed all of comicdom... with a gun. Because? What other quintessential nineties comics cliche images can you guys throw in here? Needs more shoulderpads.

I'd like to say right now that what Jeph Loeb is giving us on Ultimatum is worse than anything Rob Liefeld ever did.

What happened to Jeph Loeb? Put him with Tim Sale and he's golden, pretty much anything else in the last coupla years has been repugnant.

I just hope everyone complaining about Liefield also realized current superstars like Greg Land are complete hacks.

I just hope everyone complaining about Liefield also realized current superstars like Greg Land are complete hacks. Greg Land... isn't he the guy we were "treated" to in Uncanny X-men before Terry Dodson took over? cuz if he was, his art was good for a larf. better proportions than Liefeld (not that that's much of an accomplishment) but the way he positions people and draws their faces, it's like he's never interacted with another human being in his life. not that Matt "aging inter-web hipster" Fraction's writing's anything to write home about either. seriously he's like Marvel's very own Judd Winick.
