Apparently there's going to be an OTL report coming soon where Jones allegedly hired a convicted murderer to shoot someone outside an Atlanta strip club back in June 2007. Hopefully he goes away for a very long time. Yikes...how bad is the Patriots secondary, that I'm reading this news and still managing to think in Stephon Marbury-style "Well...it can't hurt to try" mode? Well the Pats were able to tame Randy Moss......

It was low-risk, but I can't see how anyone can actually rationalize their team signing a violent sociopath that's bordering on being permanetly banned from the league for his misconduct off the field, who actually went out of his way to get suspended halfway through the season again and would likely not have been allowed to return ater that event (or likely at all this season) if the team owner didn't have some pull in the NFL front office.
Sorry, but I don't see how anyone can be happy that element was added to the locker room, especially one run by Wade Phillips, with the amount of character defects currently in Dallas and with no true leader to keep him in line. It's like taking chemicals that already don't mix and are forced together and then dropping a match into the center to see what happens.

It's not like the team would've gone to the playoffs had he not been there in the beginning. They took a chance on signing a talented played to fill an area of need. It cost them $700K, they lost a 4th round pick, and gained a 5th round pick.
Sometimes you have to take a chance. Throw crap against the wall and see what sticks. It didn't work out, and obviously no one is happy with the results. But it wasn't a reason that this team missed the playoffs.

Obviously there were bigger issues at play, but that kind of "So crazy it just might work" statements (thank you Isiah Thomas) are likely where the Cowboys are where they are now. Eventually there comes a time when a team realizes their GM is so terrible at building a team and putting character guys on the roster that they fire him. Unfortunately for the Cowboys, the only way to fire the GM is for the owner to sell the team. Its just bizzare thinking to believe you're going to put the baggage of Tank Johnson, Terrel Owens and Pacman Jones on a roster with guys like Patrick Crayton, Roy Williams, etc. and have it work.

And the new coach of the Cleveland Browns is............................. Eric Mangini Its being reported that Rob Ryan, former defensive coordinator of the Oakland Raiders, will come onto Mangini's staff in the same capacity in Cleveland. Fomer Jets and Pats QB Coach Brian Daboll will come on as his OC. Ryan marks the third assistant coach abandoning the Good Ship Senile Al Davis, Greg Knapp and Tom Rathman both fled for their professional lives recently, as well.

If there's one guy that makes Jerr-ah look rational, it's Al Davis. If there's two it's Dan Snyder.

Dan Snyder is a miniature version of Jerry, but instead of being an irrational rich guy who knew how to win, he's an irrational rich guy that rellies mainly on Madden ratings to make his personnel decisions. Al Davis had it at one point. Jerruh could buy it at one point. Dan Snyder.....owns Johnny Rocket and Six Flags, and they're still in business, damn it!

Not that it's ENTIRELY his fault (it never is when Al Davis is involved), but I wouldn't mind a single bit seeing Rob Ryan go. A 3-4 guy being forced into running a 4-3 for five years just never worked out. Despite having a pretty good group of talented players, the defensive results have been constantly bipolar and he's never been able to scheme against the run. Maybe he can thrive in Cleveland, but I'm tired of having him in OAK. Don't mind about Knappl. Rathman would be the only one I'd miss from all the assistants. Granted, it would probably take an idiot to fail with our running backs, but he's done a good job.

Is Rob Ryan the one with the crazy hair who Kiffin was trying to fire?
I'm happy for Mangini to get another chance, I think he got a raw deal with the Jets. They made him handle the whole Favre thing when he didn't want to and was fired because he made Favre cry.

In all honesty he'll be fine in Cleveland, where he should be able to run the defense the way he wants.. I just don't want him in Oakland anymore considering he didn't fit well with the scheme. I'd say it's got to do more with the way Mangini wanted to use Favre. You don't name one of your sons after Brett if you don't want him there. I just don't think he wanted Favre to be Mr. 35+-pass-attempts-a-game, which was understandable considering their play down the stretch.

I think Favre was better suited in that West Coast Offense attack in Green Bay. I always say that Veteran QBs should be put in shotgun toward the end of their career because they aren't the same dropback passer anymore. Look at Rich Gannon in Jon Gruden's system in Oakland.

I told you from the begining that there would be no return on Pacman because he was seriously over hyped to begin with. Remember?

If the Chargers wind up winning the Super Bowl, I will officially say the Super Bowl is rigged. Notice how the past three Super Bowl winners had veteran players who needed a ring to secure their legacy, two of which retired after the game?
XL: Jerome Bettis
XLI: Peyton Manning
XLII: Michael Strahan (Eli can be considered too since his last name is Manning)
XLIII: LaDainian Tomlinson?
I know the case can be made for John Elway, but he didn't retire after his first Super Bowl win.

And in doing so ushered in the golden age for Broncos fans....and then the team started to suck...

Just to give Favre another ring, and have him be the one to stop an undefeated season. As for Adam "Pacman" Jones, the guy won't play in the NFL ever again. Roger Goodell is going to see to that. For all the shit that TO gets, at least he's just a cocky, selfish, arrogant, egotistical asshole. Jones is that, and gets in trouble with the law every couple of months. Plus, TO is downright entertaining to watch in an interview.

Not that I'm supporting Pacman or anything but the man has so much potential. I watched him throughout his college career at WVU and he has the abilities to be one of the top corners in the league. He never got into trouble at WVU until his last year and that was only one incident from what I recall. I blamed it on Chris Henry. He always was getting into trouble. To see how far he has fallen is kind of a bummer. It's his own fault though. He could've been an All-Pro and now he's most likely out of the league for good unless someone is desperate enough to give him a chance.
