SI's Selena Roberts said that she would name no other players from the list of 104 major leaguers who tested positive for steroids in 2003. Sounds like the Players Union has gotten involved already.

We should have listened to Canseco......BUT WE DIDN'T......WE DIDN'T LISTEN!
Canseco could say the sky is orange and I would believe him. He's been right about everything he's said about baseball and steroids so far.

What makes me laugh is the amount of people who insist on calling him a lying rat, despite him being almost 100% spot on about everything. Again, I dislike Canseco, but I believe his word

On the bright side of things, at least A-Rod wasn't found to be using as a Yankee. ;D True..... But you cant expect anyone to believe that he used it for one year, and one year only. So his Yankee accomplishments, which would include........uh...........um..........hmm......what was my point again? Oh yeah, that even the good things he may have done as a Yankee are suspect Considering that the year he allegedly took 'em, his numbers went down (57HR to 47HR), who's to say that he did take them frequently?

Thank god this is taken care of. I was tired of having to hear about this whole arbitration thing. On the plus side, it's a somewhat long term deal that can be revisited in 3 years when he's 32-33 and see if he can still go and that we wouldn't be tied down to a long term deal. The negative is Ryan basically got the salary he wanted, although the terms aren't announced it breaks down to $18M a year, which is still too high for a guy who gives 190+ SOs and a .220 average.

I'm glad Howard is locked down for the next 3 years. I know his salary seems high, but consider if Howard won his arbitration case this year. He'd be getting 18 mil for this season and who knows what he'd ask for in arbitration in following years. The Phils could have cost themselves some money this year, but in the long run it probably saves them money and alot of hard feelings between Howard and the Phils front office. New GM Ruben Amaro has done a great job in his first offseason signing all of the Phils arbitration eligible players. Look out NL East! The Phils are better than ever!

Really? They look like the same team to me. Same here....still better than the Mets. I don't know man...the Mets improved this year. Phillies improvement: Raul Ibanez Mets improvement: An actual f***ing bullpen! We win. Plus we have the chips to deal for a pitcher at the deadline (Be it someone like Roy Oswalt or Roy Halladay though the later would require the whole farm.)

According to MLB.com, Manny Ramirez is optimistic that he will eventually receive a four-year contract offer.

According to MLB.com, Manny Ramirez is optimistic that he will eventually receive a four-year contract offer. And I'm optimistic that he needs to just take one of the Rangers damn minor league deals! I have a hunch he would make the team. It was good enough for Omar Vizquel, Eddie Guardado, Jason Jennings, Andruw Jones, and Brendan Donelley!

Plus we have the chips to deal for a pitcher at the deadline (Be it someone like Roy Oswalt or Roy Halladay though the later would require the whole farm.) The thing is though, the Phils already had a Bullpen better than the one you put together. Two guys don't make a pen. And I could see Putz not being happy coming from a closers role and being demoted. Plus is he healthy? Edit: Sorry, 3 guys.

Oswalt goes to any AL East team it would be Philly. Remember, Wade is Houston's GM.

Yea, Roy O even offerd to lower his wages to help the team. Also the Astros like bringing back players they once had. Hampton, Caminiti etc

Putz already said he has no problem and it's 3 guys (Putz has been praising Sean Green all offseason) Also, if Duaner Sanchez and Wagner ever fight off those injuries, that whole pen will be good. We also have a legit long man too (Redding)
