No politics. Once in a blue moon, we do allow it with heavy moderation. At the same time, this ain't a job for us. We already have our hands full keeping so many metaphorical children here from fighting out of watching pretend fighting on TV. And again, talks like pizza and shit are done to distract things when it gets too heated. And, are we stopping anyone from posting anywhere else? Internet's a big place. There's enough places elsewhere to go and discuss politics. When was the last time we had a thread about taking a shit? feels like forever.

Hopefully I don't get too much flack for this... The best I can tell you man...vote. I'm not a citizen of the USA. I have a #BlackLivesMatter signature, but vote. I understand the appeal of wanting to express your belief and be free to do so, but including myself, a tag is just slacktivism. You can make real world change, so do that. This place, it's the playground of the Mods and Probroads, what they say goes, whether any of us like it or not. So make real world change, here, get along to get along. Oh, I agree that hashtagging is nonsense and voting is way more important. I think it was Barack Obama who once said, "Don't boo, vote". People cant handle discussing wrestling without bickering like children, and the times where politics has been allowed with heavy moderation people still took it too far and picked up warnings/bans. Politics being discussed here long term wont happen, there are millions of places you can discuss politics to your hearts content, here wont be one of them. If so, then why don't you have a section devoted directly to politics/adult themes to let us blow off some steam (non-pornographic adult themes, I mean...unless...you want to...) And the answer remains as no. Just no. I'll be frank. Sometimes being an adult means accepting the fact that no means no. Sometimes, being an adult also means asking the question, "Why?" It's good to question authority every now and then. So I have a question: I know we're not allowed to embed WWE copyrighted videos, but we can link to them, right? I put a link to the ECW on TNN intro in my latest fantasy booking post and I want to make sure I'm within the rules. That is another one of my problems with this board. There are other Proboard forums that have allowed non-WWE videos embedded, but this forum has been the only one that I know of that has taken them down. The WWE video rule was not something we just chose to do. We used to allow embedding of non-official videos and then one day WWE complained to ProBoards about it. They contacted us and we had to come up with a solution quickly. We came up with the rule about only embedding footage from official WWE channels and that was accepted as the action that needed to be taken. Trust me, it’s a rule none of us like and when you consider all the other defunct companies that WWE owns the rights to, some of which they only have the rights to certain years, it becomes an ever bigger pain in the hole but at the time it was a necessary compromise. It’s been several years now and if it’s such a pain to enforce why don’t we just decide to chance it and scrap the rule because the odds of anyone in WWE caring about it maybe slim to none? Because it’s just not worth the risk. Other forums allow it and if they haven’t ever been contacted about it, then that’s great for them and hopefully they can carry on that way for as long as they like but we agreed that would be our policy going forward and it’s unlikely to change anytime soon. This place just happened to be the forum that one day that someone spotted posting non-official videos. And of all things, it was just an advert for an upcoming PPV (I think it was Money in the Bank but I could be wrong).

The wwe video rule was implemented because wwe contacted proboards demanding a youtube video for a ppv from one of their accounts be taken down or the board itself be taken down, it's not a rule we wanted but one we have to have as that wasnt the only time wwe pulled this. How many times do we have to say "no politics" it's not going to happen

I like the no politics rule.
Politics are a huge part of my life, I deal with them every day. I'm surrounded by them. I like this little Oasis where I don't have to deal with it.

Why did they come after the board and not the site (I would presume YouTube?) that actually hosted the video itself? Like, I understand them trying to crack down on copyrighted footage and all that, but wouldn't it make more sense to complain to YouTube than to target one online forum?

They may well have gone after YouTube too for all we know.

Next item: "One, just because it's a rule doesn't make it right." The rule isn't right? If I may be so blunt - says you. This is a topic where, any time it has come up, has had many people support the rule because it allows them a place to escape, a place to have fun. It's been a blessing to have a site like this to frequent for more than just myself. A rule shouldn't change for everyone who thinks it's right, because you think it's wrong. And saying that having that opinion isn't "healthy" is just that: an opinion. Maybe it's mentally healthier for people to know they have a place they can go and get away for some silly fun for a bit. It is for me. Also, this board isn't some bastion of morality; it's a message board where people talk about things like MCU movies, '80s cartoons and professional wrestling. It's not here to hold up some sort of moral standard by which we all must follow, it's here for a bit of fun. Nothing said here will change the world, nor should it be trying to, and nor should anyone be looking at this site to be anything of the sort. Next item: Who do you think has to deal with things getting out of hand? The other posters? No, it's the staff. People can't even discuss AEW without devolving into petty arguments, you think discussions on serious topics will be bliss and not the wild west? The only reason the times we do allow things to get heavy around here look as decent as they do is because staff has to keep on top of it, removing incendiary posts and dishing out warnings/suspensions/bans (whatever is appropriate). It's not easy, it's not some sort of dignified utopia, it's just like other places on the internet. I presume you don't want to speak there about those things, since you're pushing so hard for it here, and it may help to stop and think about why that may be. And if you already do frequent other sites for this type of discussion, then this one little site existing as it always has shouldn't be, and is not, an issue. Next item (idea?): You're free to start a PM chain with likeminded posters to discuss these things, if there's specific people you'd like to hear from. In fact, I'd advocate that. Last item: "Third, having a different political leaning shouldn't exclude anyone from here." And it technically doesn't, but if someone doesn't feel welcome then it DOES exclude them. To use the most recent example: no one should have to go into a thread of "what made you angry today", which has always been about stuff like "I dropped my ice cream on the floor" (or whatever) and see thinly veiled comments regarding something political and seeing "how f***ing dare you" (an actual comment) thrown at them indirectly because they think differently. And that's with people trying to be clever about how they speak. There are reasons this rule has been around since the jump. You may not like it, as is your prerogative, but that's how things are run here. I'm not gonna go back and forth with you over it, simply because I feel strongly enough about this to know I won't change my view, and you clearly feel strongly enough in your way to not change your view. It's all good, I say that as both of us being adults and recognizing the situation for what it is. I'm sure we'll laugh over something silly in another thread, somewhere down the line, which is exactly the point. Don't be ashamed to write long posts. They help get your point across. Now, I'll be brief and to the point (I'll even let you have the last word because I'm such a nice guy): I've read many posts here that came to a halt out of nowhere because the poster feared that they would have broken the no politics rule. It gets annoying. Now to your point about us having an adult conversation that you don't often see online... {Spoiler}{Spoiler} {Spoiler}{Spoiler}

Like, I understand them trying to crack down on copyrighted footage and all that, but wouldn't it make more sense to complain to YouTube than to target one online forum? I remember reading about Sean Carliss getting one for his website from the WWE. Sean ignored it and the WWE did nothing. The article the WWE complained about stayed up until he got rid of the site.

With everything going in the world and the tone of the board as of late, I have one thing to say. I really hope it's something everyone takes the time to read whether you're a member, mod, or guest.
This is a momentous occasion.
Maximum Male Models is an agency that is based on its passion and love of fashion, that will be displayed by the most virile, athletic men in all of fashion. This moment is upon us, and so without further ado, allow me to introduce our first. You knew him as ‘Mace’ until he found his love of fashion. But I now I give you ma.cé!
Maximum Male Models is not about a live skin-and-bone physique. It’s about symmetry. Muscularity.
ma.cé stands at 6 feet 8 inches tall. Notice the look of the sloping shoulders which are accentuated by his latissimus dorsi, tapered down to his 36-inch waist. Continuing down onto his breathtaking 42-inch inseam, which further accentuates the ratio of shoulders to waist. Which leads us to his impressive hamstrings; leading to the perfectly proportioned striated calf muscles. Let us not forget the ankle. Ladies and gentlemen: ma.cé!
My next model you all know as ‘Mansoor’. But no no no. He has now found a love for fashion as well. You can now call him mån.sôör.
mån.sôör is the epitome of Maximum Male Models. Simply by his overall aura he is indeed known as the heartthrob of the fashion world. Not withstanding the obvious statuesque physique, mån.sôör is the personification of suave. He exemplifies the most important ingredient in the fashion world; charisma. Ladies and gentlemen: mån.sôör!
Male fashionistas all over the world will be clamoring to join my agency, but don’t bother - unless you have the qualities of ma.cé and mån.sôör. I’m sure you all agree they embody the creed of Maximum Male Models; to titillate the juices of your guilty pleasures.
Thank you.

Former Prime Minister of Japan was just shot in the chest via shotgun and is currently in cardiac arrest.
Even if it's a one post and locked thread, this is a major story and I think a Mod should make a thread.
