Okay, um, I don't know what to say so I haven't responded but I don't want to you think you are being unheard or ignored. I've read what has been said here and do think thereI don't know specifics, just what has been said here. You would probably be better served talking to HMark since he's the admin, like directly PMing him. While we like to say that we (staff) are just normal posters and please remember that when you call us out but we as staff also have to acknowledge that we need to hold ourselves to a higher standard because of the responsibilities that come with staff power. We can have our opinions but must be respectful when discussing them. I've taken my lumps for getting heated and even suspended myself for that and would hope others would apply that to themselves as well.
As AaM goes and situations like this I'm not sure those of us that regularly monitor it could do anything. In cases where you think you're being ignored PM one of us or report the post in here that is the topic you want to discuss as more of us see three reported stuff than stuff in here, especially if we think someone else has handled it or will.
Sorry for the delay and non-answer answer

I've directly messaged/PMed the admin and CC'ed other Mods multiple times about Mods overstepping their boundaries (including Clash) and have been met with radio silence and no action taken. I've even used the "Report Post" when it's gone down with the same result. I get that there's Mod business and rules are that I can't be given a play-by-play which I totally understand, but the forum has a real problem that's driving people away.
There are Mods (including Clash) who said they'd step down if their presence as a Mod was really continuing to make people feel uncomfortable, and who've promised they'd change, but then didn't. It's had a direct effect on the board with making people leave.
If this abuse from Mods is just allowed to continue, especially with posters being vocal about it in the specifically named Ask a Mod thread meant for open and direct communication, wouldn't that potentially put the whole board in jeopardy if the higher-ups at ProBoards ever caught wind of it? That always seemed to be the big question in terms of what is/isn't allowed on the forums and has lead in years past prior to this string of ugliness into a well-moderated healthy forum.
Is the problem a lack of people willing to fill in that spot to be a Mod if a Mod or Mods are de-Modded? If that's the case, I'll be a Mod. I've been here a long time and have the temperament for it.

Hi, I hate to have to chime in, because I like all the parties involved. I just want to speak on some mod behavior that happened to me. It was inevitably addressed, which is why I want to echo that when all else fails, you should speak to HMARK.
There was a mod who flat out came after me hard, people who were there or I spoke to at the time will remember. Hardcore attacked me in threads and via PM, straight up dared me to Report them and told me directly they would just delete it. I went to HMARK and showed him the screenshots, then said person was no longer a mod.
If you feel you are being attacked, please take screenshots and show them to HMARK.

What is up with the necro posting lately like threads that have no reason to be updated or posted in are suddenly on the main page.

Can I say that I don't really see the issue with the old threads being revived? Like, I could see if it was something nonsensical that never gained traction in the first place being revived for literally no reason. But if someone's adding a new example to a topic that's only a year or two old, what's the harm?
A few years ago in the games section I revived a tournament that went unfinished for a few years prior, and it seemed like everyone had fun with that. *shrug*

But if someone's adding a new example to a topic that's only a year or two old, what's the harm? I have to echo this. I recently responded in a thread that was over a month old, and while no action was taken in the thread, I've seen action taken in other threads of similar age. Is there a timeframe as far as how old a thread is in order for it to constitute as necroing it? I checked the rules, and didn't see anything, but I may have overlooked it. I guess it's up to the discretion of the mods, but unless someone is spamming a dozen or so old threads (which has happened), then I don't really see the issue. Sometimes someone may take a break from the forum, return and see a thread that was a couple months old and respond instead of making a new thread.

The threads that were locked earlier were threads where the previous last post was well over a year ago, sometimes two years. If you’re posting in a thread that’s been inactive for a couple of months, then as long as it’s adding to to the topic, rather than an obvious bump or something similar, then I don’t see an issue with it.
There is no official rule about this (for the moment) but I’d say six months is about the limit from the previous final post. This is not binding in any way, just my own immediate answer when I thought about it.
There are exceptions. Say a thread is started about a film that is about to go into production. A year or so later, we get the first trailer released. In this example it would be acceptable to “revive” the thread with a new post containing the trailer. But I wouldn’t have an issue with there being a new thread started either.
Again, please don’t take this as gospel though. If we do need to make it an official rule, then it will be more clearly defined.

I didn't get what "necro" was until I associate it with the phrase "bumping a thread". I admit the only time I did it was once, even it was my first post. Long short story, I noticed my website (an entrance themes database dedicated to AEW, ROH and indies around the world sans Japan) being linked and wanted to thank that person to link my site. Since I was aware some folks were usually not fond of that. I asked Zombie Mod whether this was allowed or not, specially since this was a one year thread. He congratulated me for asking beforehand rather than bumping randomly an old thread and also told me it's not usually encouraged to do such thing as long as there's something worthwhile that it's being added.

If we do need to make it an official rule, then it will be more clearly defined. I really think it does depend on what kind of thread it is. I see some threads in Wrest get bumped after a year or so of inactivity, but the thread in question was something like "moments you remember that nobody talks about" or the "wrestlers looking unnaturally juicy" thread. Stuff that I don't think impacts anything one way or another. But a week or two ago, an RIP thread for the actress who voiced Ursula in the Little Mermaid was bumped after a year and it was just someone posting a random thought, I believe. Stuff like that, unfortunately, has a limit on how long it should be discussed.

Can any of the mods take over my OP post about tonight’s releases?
Had a known it was going to be more than her (releases announced during a live show is crazy) I probably would have waited to post something, as I’m about to crash for the night and won’t be able to keep an updated list of releases in the OP.

Would it be okay if I made an Off Topic thread asking if anyone wants to swap written work to get extra eyes on them (I mainly dabble in screenwriting but I also have a well rejected short story that I guess I need to tighten up or add to)? I've lost my normal sharing group and never really considered asking on here before?
I could just make a general 'writing' thread that shares tips and advice columns/videos if that would be more preferred.
Just wanted to check here first.

This is a very random question but one that has been driving me nuts: what was the user name of the guy who used to be an Admin or Mod here that stepped away for various reasons a few years ago? For the life of me I cannot remember it and that small mystery has been driving me nuts for months.
