I think it was a good decision to lock the thread but I've seen a bad trend here and it honestly troubles me and nothing troubles me much except ec3's tna theme. The second theres any thread that uses any type of current lingo, the dog whistling is insane. Do I personally use a lot of this lingo? Nah, but it is just uncomfortable as hell to see the reaction that's given to some of my favorite members here and I just have to say something. Can we get a rule where we can all be off topic as hell as we all usually are but the shit about other people's lingo can chill out? I don't want to censor or kill anyone else's conversations, that's nearly as bad as the obvious undertones of some members confronting current lingo but it's severely uncomfortable and extremely obvious, even as someone who thinks people whine about stupid stuff too often. It's obvious what the play there is. Edit: NVM, thank you Madison As one of the main people who was joking about the words used, it was all meant to be a bit of fun and if you look back, the majority of posts in there were just having a bit of a joke about the phrase used. As long as no harm was being done and it was kept light-hearted I don’t see it as an issue. However, when it went beyond that, it was rightly locked. Another thing is how the thread title was worded, I’m NOT having a moan about the person who started the thread (nor anyone else who does a similar thing) nor am I saying people can’t use the words they want. But when you have a phrase like that in the title, a phrase that is not well-known in the context by most people, then there’s always the danger the thread will become more about that wording, rather than the subject of the thread. I completely agree that most of you were just joking around and there's nothing wrong with it at all. It's funny as hell. There's just always a few who very clearly aren't looking to joke around at alllll and just starting shit. Like that last dude's post couldn't have been more obvious as to what he was implying and I'm as anti speech and thought police as they come.

And for the record, any time someone says that something like an album or trailer has “dropped”, I will always make the “joke” about that they should pick it up then. It’s hilarious to absolutely no one (including myself) but I just can’t resist it. (I’m a grown man for Christ’s sake)

All of that is super funny because I use a mix of old and new lingo since I'm right between the ages and upbringing. Plus being a dad allows me to make such jokes.

A part of it is also that no one reported any posts that they thought were a problem. They just replied and started saying things to fight back.

I just want to ask what thread you're all even talking about since it's hard for me to understand what we're not supposed to be doing if I can't actually see what was done.

More of a suggestion hybrid with question.
Is ther a way to ban specific persons of thread?Or at least add that function to the forum?

Hit one of us up the IP in a PM and we can clear it up. Sounds vaguely sexual.

Not on a technical level, but we can easily say (and have in the past) "kick rocks, you're not to post in this thread anymore". It's lame to have to have to get that hard on someone, but sometimes a poster is so far gone on some out there opinion or rant that it's the only way to save a discussion (or the board's sanity).
