People are always complaining about how stale certain people are, like HHH, Undertaker, Jericho, RVD ect.
Yet why does no one ever complain about Benoit?
He's played the same boring face he did in WCW for the last 4 years. He was always the guy who's dream it was to be world champion, and last year they finally paid it off. But after he won the title he hardly did anything interesting. And he's been in 0 entertaining feuds since losing it.
Benoit needs a change of character BADLY, assuming he even has a character. However Benoit is one of the worst on the mic ever so I don't know if he had the ability to do it.
The fans are bored with him and his ring work has deteriorated into little more than chops and germans. Face it, Shawn Michaels is better than Benoit. He's owned him the last few months. The fans were bored with that Kane match, especially the FIVE germans which no one gave a shit about.
Benoit cannot rely purely on his ring work. He should stop being so lazy and unmotivated and do something about his actual character to give fans a reason to care about him again.

I don't care if Benoit is as stale as French Bread, no one is more stale than Triple H.

The sad and awful truth is, Benoit is stale.
However, that's not his fault. Somewhat. He's not allowed to do the things he used to do, so his ring work suffers greatly.

I hate Chris Benoit, currently.
It's not his fault that he isn't allowed to wrestled the style that put his name on the map. However like I always say, the fact remains that, regardless of who's fault it is, Benoit still sucks.

Yet why does no one ever complain about Benoit? You should read some of Asics posts. He's made several posts about benoit being stale

That may be true, but guys like Michaels and Angle continue to put on great matches regardless. I'm thinking he can't adapt to the new style, or he's lost it.

Nobody is staler than Val "My Gimmick Stopped Being Over In 1999" Venis, which is a shame because he's a guy who could have been money had he been utilised the right way when he was hot.

True, but if I may play wrestling expert for a minute (seeing as how HMark and D and others aren't here right now) guys like Michaels and Angle were home groomed on the WWE Style. They know how to work around it, and still pull off great things. Benoit was raised on a more dangerous style of wrestling (strong suplex's, powerful holds, the like) and has to tone it down. Most of the moves in his repetoire can seriously hurt people, if he didn't know what the hell he's doing, but he does, and WWE doesn't want to take that risk I suppose. Okay, back to being a goofy idiot. Oh, and who's clamoring to say that RVD is stale? Really? He's stale? Who says that?

RVD is stale. There, I've said it. He has been for most of his WWE run and it's sad to see a guy who was so good in ECW become that waste of TV time. Hopefully, he goes over a character tune-up while he's gone and comes back as a heel. He needs it.

Damn it Dave! Why must you present such a good and fact based argument? Well, umm...Benoit can't adapt!

Ya know Benoit has been doing this same crap for 4 years. People said Rock and Austin were getting stale after 4 years, and both were far more entertaining than Benoit.
You say Val Venis but he's on heat, plus he actually changed his gimmik and character a few times, RTC, Cheif Morley, and changed his alignment too.
Benoit has done nothing to his charcater since his face turn in 2001.
As Owen Hart said "enough is enough and it's time for a change!"

Benoit is getting a little stale, but so are several others and some were never interesting to me at all (Edge) I think they just need to move guys like Benoit to Smackdown to freshen them up. If they turned him heel and put him up against Cena it would pretty much be a win/win situation because:
1. Cena would have someone else who could carry him to a watchable match.
2. A fresh turn would make Benoit kinda interesting again as a ruthless heel type much like he was in that feud w/Rocky in 2000.
Hopefully they do draft some of these guys like Benoit to Smackdown because they're not doing much on Raw these days that's for sure.

Benoit has done nothing to his charcater since his face turn in 2001. Well, he did turn heel a time or two after he came back from neck surgery.

This is just me, but I have never found anything the Stone Cold character has ever done remotely entertaining. Besides, you're being unfair to Benoit - remember, he did spend quite a large part of that time out with a broken neck, which is no different than Val's temporary character shifts.

I think Benoit needs to be turned heel.
What if Bischoff some how antagonizes hm and Benoit snaps. Benoit hits Bischoff, maybe injures his arm. Bischoof fires Benoit...
Smackdown - From the stands comes a out of control Benoit. He sneaks up and Cena and beats him bloody.
He'd be hated by some, loved by some. It could truly make for some entertaing TV.

Hopefully, he goes over a character tune-up while he's gone and comes back as a heel. He needs it. Agreed. RVD needs a heel turn so bad right now. I'd like to see him with a heel manager. Hell, DiBiase is working at Smackdown at the moment (although I hear rumours it's not going the greatest). Sign him up to a contract and let him manage a stable of guys who can wrestle, Haas for example.

I like that idea. Heel Benoit being a submission machine was a great gimmick back when he was a heel Radical.

RVD cannot be heel.
A) He can't be a heel. Seriously. It is impossible for RVD to play a bad guy. B) The crowds would still cheer him
