But seriously, this is Jericho's fault as he laid his hand on the fan first. Anyone who tries to defend Jericho for throwing the first punch needs a reality check. Except the fan started by slamming the door in Jericho's face. Jericho has the legal raight after that to defend himself.

Now thats old school heel heat. That's what I thought. He was attacked first on all sides, and like, people who want to talk about how boring Serious Jericho is, this is it. This guy has gotten heat, ridiculous heat, to the point of people taking it past buying a ticket. Maybe it was just the people in this town, but I think Ric Flair, Harley Race and Terry Funk need to sit down and have a talk of things to do to try and defend himself. This guy is getting ridiculous heel heat. My appreciation of the old school honestly likes this, as sick as that sounds. Jericho is such a heel, and is so convincing, that he got people attacking him in a parking lot. Hopefully he doesn't get shot or stabbed like some of the men I mentioned previously.

So now that 12 pages are out of the way, and we all kinda agree that it's a pretty messed up situation, and no one we know personally got hurt... Does anyone have anything for show and tell? I'm sure the Brits will be waking up shortly to throw in their two cents... But as for me to quote Brady Quinn... "Now I'm Done" We'd be more likely to throw our two pounds in. I'm just sayin'.

To be honest, if I was in a group and saw anybody hit a woman in the face, I'd jump in, as I personally hate to see that happen, so I can see that side of the story, but in the first place, some of those people were retarded enough to try and jump on the car, stop it and harass him so Jericho had every right to dish it back. It's 50/50, but the security are f***ing retards, seriously.

I don't think anyone was giving the mob a free pass. I called them morons and so did everyone else who questioned Jericho's way of handling things. My biggest problem was that some are making Jericho out to be a total victim in this. I don't get how Jericho ISN'T a victim here... he had 50 fans jumping on his car (rental car or not) and when he gets out to address them, he gets hit - not once, but TWICE. the snorking skank deserved it. He won't lose a single penny, THEY CHASED HIM. He didn't chase them. Self defence all the way. Man or woman, she could have had anything in her hand. Wow you didn't read bit of that story did you? Nobody "jumped" on his car. And JERICHO THREW THE FIRST PUNCH. Self defense only works if you are physically provoked first. Running up to a car, especially autograph seekers, and smacking a car is NOT PHYSICAL PROVOCATION. If a kid was egging your house, you wouldn't go out and punch the kid. The cops would arrest your ass on the spot because the kid wasn't physically provoking you. Like I said before, I've seen fans rush up to wrestlers cars before and knock on their car to get their attention for autographs and what no. But NONE OF THEM tried to get out of the car and throw punches just because they were blocking his way.

Jericho basically took it into his own hands when "security" did jack shit. That's what they get paid for and they did nothing, so Jericho had to become a member of his own JPS (jericho personal security).
Hope he doesn't get in trouble for SELF DEFENSE OF a group of fans.

Those fans deserved it. I just hate it how the can just mess with superstars as if they were just a buddy or someone to treat with disrespect.

As a woman, I see nothing wrong with Jericho hitting that female fan. She tried to grab him; he had every right to defend himself as quickly and efficiently as possible. She could have had a knife, could have had mace, whatever. Your sex does not excuse you from charges of assault.
Put it this way: if it had been a man grabbing him and if Jericho had punched him, would anyone blame him? I don't think so. THAT was the first move.
Also, another account - the one on the close-up video - said that the woman spit on him first. If that's the case, he's justified in spitting back on her.
Beyond that, I don't really blame him reacting the way he did. He was in a mob of fifty people, all of them clearly angry, some of them obviously prepared to make it physical. Security was clearly incompetent. At that point, you're angry and scared, the adrenalin is going, you're acting on instinct. It's fight or flight. Should he perhaps have gone with flight? Yes, but it's not really a conscious choice. If I were in that situation, I would have fought in pretty much the same way.

Is it kind of Ironic, that Jericho calls the fans "Ingrates" and this situation proved him right?

As a Brit waking up to this has anyone posted the second video of this which gives a much better impression what happened: I'm not sure if this captures the whole thing, but both of the videos seem a little inconsistent with the eye witness account at the point the video starts rolling according to his narrative. He seems to overestimate how many punches were really thrown. That said I don't think either the fans or Jericho really look good coming out of that. It could of course allow Flair to get a 'you're no better than me' line in his promo on Monday night

I bet that if Batista or even John Cena were in Jericho 's place the internet would be all over them, but since they don't have the "workrate" that Jericho has, Jericho's the man.
I'm not trying to offend anybody, but my opinion is that both sides were equally wrong.

Most of the fans were just there, only about three or four of them actually got angry and physical. And that was only AFTER Jericho threw the first punch. If you noticed, most people were just there being typical fans, standing around taking pictures and what not.

I'm not trying to offend anybody, but my opinion is that both sides were equally wrong. You're not trying to offend anyone, but still had to take a shot at those who are taking Jericho's side (and thus must be obsessed with "workrate")? For the record, I think both sides were in the wrong, but I can see why Jericho would react the way he did. And yes, if this was Batista or Khali or Snitsky or Lashley or Vince Russo, I'd feel the same way.
