Jericho should be fired and sent to prison. If these giant behemoth trained fighters are allowed to attack people then we'll be dealing with mangled corpses and the blood will be on the hands of the WWE. Special precautions need to be taken to prevent this in the future. If it involves WWE wrestlers being put on a strict curfew with limitations being placed on where they can and cant be then I say fine. Didnt anyone see the movie Con Air? Nicholas Cage's character went to jail for years because he was a trained killer, regardless of whether or not he was defending himself or not. That movie was based on a true story. The WWE wrestlers aren't trained to kill but do posses a special skill set that makes them a threat to people who incure their wraths. Is this post an attempt at a joke?

If Jericho's suspended for this, who do you think will take his place in the Chamber? JBL, HBK and Orton are all busy. I think it would probably be Mark Henry or Jon Morrison from ECW.

Jericho won't be suspended. If anything, I'm guessing that CM Punk will somehow get the heat for this. Maybe Punk refused to sign the guy's autograph so he took it out on Jericho? ;D

Bottom line, if you really have no life and try to attack a wrestler in real life, you get it coming. And that bitch should have never touched Jericho, she had it coming too.

I think its dumb when fans react to a wrestler's character in real life. I remember hearing about when Slaughter was at the peak of the Iraqi sympathiser period and he would be refused service at restaurants and threatened all the time. Most wrestling fans claim to know it is "fake" but still act like this.

These videos are crap.
If I have the scenario right it's:
Jericho is trying to leave, fans come out to the street and keep him from leaving, he gets out of his car, security fail to move the fans away, and the fans REPEATEDLY put their hands on him. He took down the boyfriend but that was because the boyfriend was about to attack him.
Therefore he was provoked and he reacted the way anyone would of reacted when they get provoked. How is he at fault? Nobody laid their hands on Jericho until after Jericho punched the first guy. That brought the second guy, a friend, to punch Jericho. That's when it all broke down. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbnPUegD9f4People crowd around him, he gets out just stands there, security do nothing, fans start touching him, and the girl grabs his back while he's getting into his car, and as a REACTION, Jericho throws a punch. Then the boyfriend comes and attempts to fight and Jericho takes him down too. If the sequence is right:
1. One fan shoves him and another pats his shoulder 2. A gril grabs his back while he attempts to go into his car 3. Jericho REACTS with a punch 4. Boyfriend attempts to fight 5. Jericho takes him down in DEFENSE
Did I miss anything? Jericho was provoked before anything, and he only REACTED with a punch when the girl grabbed him. If there is a better video, it might be cleared up but from the url above, it all points to him being provoked.

Jericho isn't getting suspended. I doubt anything comes of this at all of note really. If that happens, get your banning gloves ready for every RVD thread that happens on this board for as long as this board exists pointing out the double standard. If a real news organization reports this, Jericho will be fired.

Im going to give my serious two cents on this situation.
Jericho is one of my favourite wrestlers ever, more so than Bret, Rock, Hogan, Austin, Michaels, Angle, HHH, Taker, etc. From reading his book, he lives a decent lifestyle, not a clean cut but he dosent mess around with drugs or the law and generally tries to stay out of trouble. But he also doesnt back down from conflicts. His character in WWE at the moment is a very well played but hatful character and i can understand why fans would show some verbal abuse to him, but to actually try and harm him is ridiculous. Wrestling is fake, leave it to the wrestlers, do not provoke them. Perhaps Jericho over reacted but he had been physically assaulted. I dont care if it's man, woman or beast, if something is trying to beat you up you retaliate through human instinct.
I doubt the WWE will take any serious action against him, he no reapeat offender like Hardy or Orton. Yet when people like Jeff or Randy do things like this no one bats an eye lid, yet because a guy like Jericho is not a usual suspects everyone wants a piece of him. I swear if the media try and create a field day out of, i might actually stop watching wrestling. I could tolerate the Benoit incident because that is genuine news. This is a petty squabble that has gotten out of hand fast.
Let him be his character on tv. Cheer him, boo him but leave him be when he is off camera. The man has a family he dosent need this sort of crap following him around.
I will wear my Jericho t-shirt in support of Chris this week, he is innocent.

That brought the second guy, a friend, to punch Jericho. That's when it all broke down. Shoving and grabbing a person counts as putting your hands on them. If someone repeatedly did that to me, and it wasn't an accident, damn straight they're getting punched. I'm amused by Powell's whole "You never hit a woman" schpiel. I personally believe that you don't hit anyone, male or female, unless they give you a good reason to do so. Shoving you repeatedly is a good reason. That's just asking for a physical confrontation. As to it being a few fans, the eye-witness report said that 50 people rushed into the street around his car. I'd find that scary and mob-like.

Unless of course they want to put a spin on it saying this is a sign of roid rage and Jericho is hostile and prone to violence because of illegal substances. Somebody might pull it out of their ass to make a feeble attempt to get peoples attention away from the stimulus plan and gas prices BS.

===================== from OP:
Chris Jericho exited the building, and walked over to his white rental vehicle. The crowd watching him leave was heckling him, but he was ignoring it. He gets in his vehicle and drives out of the arena parking lot, right past the crowd of us. As Jericho stops at a stop sign, a fan runs into the street and starts banging on his rental vehicle. At this point about 50 people rush into the middle of the intersection, blocking traffic in several directions, with no police and very inadequate and incompetent security (no WWE security guards period). My girlfriend and I were literally in the very front of the crowd, and this all went down literally five feet away from us.
Chris Jericho opens the door to his vehicle in the middle of the road, and the fan shuts the door back on him. Jericho then gets out of the vehicle completely, and punches the fan in the face! This prompts another fan to jump in (he was friends with the first) and attack Jericho, and Jericho scuffles with the second guy. At this point, a woman who knows the second guy who attacked Jericho starts to jump in and get in Jericho's face (because he was fighting her friend).
This is where the Save on Foods Rent-A-Security Guards stopped standing around watching this happen (I swear they thought they were watching a wrestling angle or something), and stepped in to separate Jericho and the woman, who was shoving him. Looking at Jericho's face he was obviously ready to explode and was restraining himself...but then the excretory matterstorm happened...
He spit in the girl's face, and called her a "snorking bitch". The woman then spit in Jericho's face. Jericho then started cursing out the woman some more, and was getting ready to go back into his vehicle (as all of this is still happening in the middle of the road). While he was turning to go into his vehicle, one of the guys he was fighting shoved Jericho against his car. Another guy then shoved Jericho, and that time he bumped his head on the top of his vehicle. This was where Jericho seriously snapped.
After bumping his head, Jericho went into a excretory matterstorm, throwing and swinging at everybody around him. He knocked one guy to the ground, told another fan that he was going to "snorking kill you". The woman who got spit on was still yelling at Jericho, so he piefaced her away from him (because the arena security couldn't keep them separated). As soon as he put his hands on the woman, ANOTHER fan jumps in and starts swinging at Jericho. Jericho grabs the guy and starts throwing him to the ground, and at this point I have to yank my girlfriend out of the way and into some other people because Jericho had literally thrown himself and the other guy into our direction and we would of been knocked down by the scuffle.
The arena security try again at this point to regain order, and two of them grab Jericho and start yelling at him to calm down, to which Jericho responds by taking a swing at one of the security guards and yelling at them to "do your snorking job and get the snorking police here". Then he shoves the second guard to the ground and tells him to "stay the snork off me".
Well, as that happens, the chick lunges at Jericho AGAIN, and this time Jericho actually punches the woman in the face, and shoves her to the ground. This stunned everyone, and the girl's friends ended up jumping in trying to fight Jericho, to which he fought all of them off, then storms into his vehicle swearing and speeds off, running through a stop sign in the process.
This whole thing happened over the span of about 5 minutes (of the street being blocked by this ordeal), and the woman ended up calling the cops on Jericho. They arrived 5 minutes after Jericho left, complete with a Paddy Wagon. The WWE's head of security did not see the incident, so he was there trying to figure out what happened along with the cops at the same time while yapping on his cell phone, and the woman is pressing charges against Jericho. As crazy and unbelievable this sounds, it can all be backed up with whatever police report was filed on the scene this afternoon.
I hope this made sense, as a lot of stuff happened. If you have any questions or need clarification, just ask. This was taped by several people with cell phone cameras, but there were only 50 people down there so I hope the video makes it way to the internet. Regardless, this went down as one of the craziest things I have ever seen in my life (even if it didn't involve Chris Jericho), and Jericho could be in some serious legal trouble over this one; although he was provoked, he seriously snapped and crossed the line. =========================================
I put bold on all parts where he was provoked. I put italics on the 2 parts where he did something unprovoked(spitting and swinging at the security). STILL it seems he was not at fault through the whole thing.
