Why "take a side" ?? This is awesomeness that you get to run home about and tell all your friends that "CHRIS JERICHO ATTACKED US!!" and show them cell phone video footage. It's just simply awesome stuff, nothing to get in a tiff over, no one was injured or killed.

Those are arena security, not cops. BIG difference. You missed the point: the designated authorities weren't containing the situation well enough. The cops may've not come fast enough before, oh, I dunno, some drunk fan could've broken a f***ing window. I'm not saying violence solves anything, I'm saying it was a dangerous situation from the get-go. Security is supposed to keep you very, VERY far away from doing things like that. The fact that he JUST banged on his car doesn't change that the ability to bang on your car implies the possibility of doing other things. "BUT YOU'RE JUST PARANOID." No, you're just not famous. |

Jericho was defending himself plain and simple. Everything was initiaied by the fans. As for the security guard, it honestly looked like Jericho had no idea it was s security guard when he made contact with him. Whether he is like or not, Jericho is 100 percent in the right here. I'd be saying the same exact thing if Batista did this. Maybe not Finlay haha

Because they're all suburbanites that have clearly never been placed in a crowded or volatile environment. Anyone in Jericho's situation would've done what he did. Period. Including get out of the car. Security failed hard. Deal with it. But KoOS won't deal with it, because that would imply being in the wrong. Yes, because I don't want to admit that violence solves all the problems in the World. Yes, because I don't want to admit that Jericho, our God almighty, can get away with punching and shoving security guards. Yes, because I don't want to admit that the only thing Jericho could do was punch, shove, and spit at people. Not all of us are barbarians and think that throwing fists can make problems go away. I don't believe in violence either, but if an angry mob of people start attacking you, you only have two options. You can either defend yourself, or get your ass kicked. I guess he was just supposed to curl up in the fetal position and get the shit kicked out of him. |

Jericho did nothing "wrong". The mob did. Jericho repeatedly tried to return to his car and the mob(including the "security") repeatedly impeded his progress. I don't see why spitting is such a big deal, out of the options to defend himself (punch,shove, or spit) it was the least violent and the least insulting. I don't see where he lost it either, he was composed and reacted to the situation. He only raised his voice to be heard over the mob. His other actions were to get back to his car safely and leave.

Anyway, they were all at fault. Jericho likely SHOULD have remained professional but...f*** it, I would have done the same thing. Those people were idiots.
And the security guards should have done something.

That little .gif actually makes it look like the chick either slapped him in the face, or took her hand and pushed hiim in the face with it. At that time, he had already made up his mind to throw a punch back, and while he did turn around for a split second first, it still theoretically easily been someone else from the crowd who ran up on him and did it (i.e a guy). Either way, the fact that it was a girl is immaterial to me. She put her hands on him so she deserved to get socked. I also find it hard to fault Jericho for losing it after the girl's boyfriend rushed him and got socked. At that point, he had to genuinely fear for his safety. Even when he clocked the security guard at the end of the video, there is no saying with 100% certainty that Jericho realized it was a security guy and not one of the riled up people. Yeah, he had a bright blue shirt on, but like others have said, when you're in a situation like that, all you're thinking about is saving your own ass.
My only issue is that he decided to get out of the car at all after the girl supposedly spit on him (it apparently occurred before the video started).
Another thing- for the poster who said that if someone takes a swing at you, it gives you free "range" to beat the crap out of them-that is incorrect. By law, you can do what is necessary to negate the threat to your personal safety, but only up to the point where the immediate threat is rendered incapacitated. So, if someone swings on you and you drop them with a punch, it's not like you can then go up to them while they are writhing around in pain on the ground and start kicking them in the face over and over.

ok seriously. everyone here is at fault. the guys were absolute assholes and honestly deserved 100% what they got. Security when they saw the crowd should've been more alert and should've been right there to help Jericho just in case. Jericho (and i hate this expression) should've been more professional. he lost his cool. he should've just brushed her away and got out of there. instead he took it a step too far. obviously he was having a bad day but he still shouldn't have done that. i'm gonna say it was the security's job for the most part. they weren't doing their job. Agreed. There isn't always a face and a heel in a situation. Here they were all tweeners. |
