What's the over/under on the # of days it takes before that GIF of Jericho punching the woman gets "OWNED" added to it? Somewhere out there, it's already happened. Never underestimate the net.

None of this would have happened if Howard Finkel was around. Fixed

ok guys calm down. this is getting a bit out of hand. reel it in before you take it too far. The fact that people are afraid of discussion bothers me. Not a single insult has been flung. Not one. Your and the mods' fear of something bad happening is the only thing at work at the moment. people have insulted both the fans and Jericho repeatedly. its only one step further to insult each other. i'm trying to prevent that from happening. also i'm not afraid of discussion at all. if you've ever read anything i've written i love discussions. i love debates. but i hate it when people ruin them by insulting each other. i don't want that to happen so i'm trying to prevent it. also there's much more at work at the moment than just me and the mod's conspiracy together... but thats another day for another thread

The way I see it, Jericho had every right to defend himself. And that's exactly what he did. Maybe he did overreact, but if I were in his situation I'd err on the side of safety.

Those are arena security, not cops. BIG difference. You missed the point: the designated authorities weren't containing the situation well enough. The cops may've not come fast enough before, oh, I dunno, some drunk fan could've broken a snorking window. I'm not saying violence solves anything, I'm saying it was a dangerous situation from the get-go. Security is supposed to keep you very, VERY far away from doing things like that. The fact that he JUST banged on his car doesn't change that the ability to bang on your car implies the possibility of doing other things. "BUT YOU'RE JUST PARANOID." No, you're just not famous. The security was RIGHT in front of Jericho. He stood behind them for a good 20 seconds or so in that clip before he got into his car. Jericho stood there when he could just hot shotted it to his car, but he let the fans get even more rowdy by standing there basically goading them. And once again it's a rental car, Jericho seems like the guy to get insurance. If some moron fan breaks a window, the car rental company isn't going to come down on Chris when it was vandalized by a moron. If he felt like the fan was going to do that, do you really think Jericho was going to diffuse the situation by stepping out of the car? Honestly, do you think Jericho was going to make the situation better by confronting that person outside of the car? No.

So, if someone swings on you and you drop them with a punch, it's not like you can then go up to them while they are writhing around in pain on the ground and start kicking them in the face over and over. ...unless you're Randy Orton.

I'd just like to add and point out that Jericho shouted repeatedly at the security to get the cops there. Usually the party in the wrong isn't hollering for the police.
I know everyone has their own opinion about physical violence, but until they themselves have been in the middle of such a hostile situation their opinions are going to be baseless. I've been attacked by several people before. It sucks, and honestly it's scary. I don't care if the guy is a 230 lb. pro wrestler, an angry mob is scary. He was trying to protect himself.
Some are reacting as if these people just walked up to him and said "Hey! Can we have an autograph?" and he started punching them all in the face. He was pushed around to the point that he smacked his head on the car. That's called physical assault. He's protected by law to fight back, regardless of the gender of his attackers.

No. For the 10th time.... some people would rather NOT wait until someone smashes there window. She was hitting his car, and they were acting like animals. Good enough. And for the 11th time, security had gotten between him and the fans. Once that happened he needed to get in his car and drive off. Instead he stood there talking shit to them which further incited them. She attacked him, and he punched her (with good reason). Him further instigating the situation likely led to this though. Now then we only can really speak to what we saw on tape. Take the accounts of someone standing in a mob with a grain of salt. We don't know what happened until the cameras started rolling. The bottom line is there is a way to diffuse the situation and a way to ignite it. He chose the latter, and will now have to pay the consequences. Someone in his position, who has been a celebrity for some time, should know better.

No, you're just not famous. /facepalm When he's driving. When he's driving, they obviously can't get as close to the car, but the fact that someone can jump out and touch it as he's driving means they weren't doing a very good job. Nothing can stop someone from running in front of it in the same sense. Now, here you try to spin it that he's intentionally goading them. Fortunately, people are intelligent enough to know the difference. If you actually watch the video for the first 20 seconds he was talking to security to clear out the mob. There wasn't enough containment there at all for them to be able to get that close to the car. "DID YOU KNOW THAAAT..." Broken glass doesn't feel like fluffy white linen. "NOOOW YOU KNOOOW." Security wasn't doing their job. Say it with me now. Security wasn't doing their job. When the security team isn't calling the police and the crowd is libel to get out of control? Yeah. And guess what? He actually DID diffuse the situation, once a girl took a black eye. All the sheep ran like hell. Looks a lot better to me. Maybe next time they won't touch someone or their property. Eschew mediocrity. kthx.

Yes, because I don't want to admit that violence solves all the problems in the World. Yes, because I don't want to admit that Jericho, our God almighty, can get away with punching and shoving security guards. Yes, because I don't want to admit that the only thing Jericho could do was punch, shove, and spit at people. Not all of us are barbarians and think that throwing fists can make problems go away. I don't believe in violence either, but if an angry mob of people start attacking you, you only have two options. You can either defend yourself, or get your ass kicked. I guess he was just supposed to curl up in the fetal position and get the excretory matter kicked out of him. I'm all for defending yourself if someone throws a punch first. My WHOLE problem is Jericho should have just stayed in his car. If he REALLY felt threatened, he could have tried to slightly move his car to try and get people to move. If a fan broke a windshield, I'm pretty sure the security would have stepped in at that point or they would have been in SERIOUS trouble. The security should have done a better job, the fans should have been respectful, and Jericho should have...once again..stayed in the car. Everyone is at fault. But Jericho should take the big part of the blame for letting it get out of hand. And he did just that as soon as he stepped out of that car.

Fair enough, but it doesn't legally entitle you to punch someone. If you choose to hop out of the car and contribute to the further escalation of the situation, then you're more than likely going to pay the consequences. I don't know what is going to come of this, but if what has been reported so far is how it all really went down, I don't think there is a judge in the world that wouldn't say that at the very least, Jericho used piss poor judgment in getting out of the car. That in and of itself isn't enough for him to get charged, but it was stupid on his part.
