That's the one I was looking at a few minutes ago. I don't even remember anybody mention that it was out on Blu-ray

I wouldn't waste my money with any of the single releases I would wait on the boxset that's coming

Paramount has one coming, but that won't include Freddy vs. Jason (unless, of course, you're talking about the possibility of a Blu-ray release for the "Jason Slasher Collection" [JGTH/JX/FVJ]).

I was mostly talking about the Paramount Single releases Fair enough. The Blu-ray box set will likely be my first purchase after upgrading, because after these deluxe editions, I think I'll be done buying re-releases of the series on DVD.

Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus looks friggin' epic. A surefire classic of modern cinema, right there. ;D As for Uncle Sam, I've seen it. DSR's right - this is a horror film with a MESSAGE, people. And most of you know how I feel about those. And, as I've said more than a few times, I am more than willing to give a message horror movie it's fair shake. It's just that UNCLE SAM feels the need to address both sides of its argument in the most moronic terms possible. I wouldn't go that far, but I'm certainly not fully pumped to see it. Of course, it helps that I don't care for Justin Long at all. And, I agree, the title is quite awesome. Any special features for Creepshow. I've said many times before its my favorite horror movie (and second favorite movie, overall). I don't own any sort of Blu-Ray player, but if there's anything awesome on that disc, it'll be the first Blu-Ray I buy...eventually.

Have no idea of any special features for Creepshow If I had to guess It probably will be the same ones that was on the last DVD version that came out

Seriously though, I was (am?) hoping for the special features from the UK Special Edition DVD. Though, if they were produced by somebody other than WB (since somebody else owns the distro on the film itself overseas), then I'd guess that's a no-go.

I've always found it funny that the second film (the inferior of the two, IMO), got the royal treatment from Anchor Bay, yet the first film is the one still sitting here in 2009 with a snapper case and a barebones disc. Shameful....just shameful.

Yeah, it's quite sad. And I agree with you that Creepshow 2 is quite a dip in quality from its predecessor. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`` And, while I'm here, I thought I'd alert you guys to this... www.dvddrive-in.com/reviews/i-m/midnitecampaign09.htmFor those of you who are unaware, the Midnite Movies are a line-up of DVDs (and earlier VHSs) of cult films released by MGM (and their distributors, Sony and Fox). These DVDs include a number of Roger Corman films and pictures from Hammer and Amicus productions. Two years ago they released a slew of titles to DVD, and since then...nothing. My buddies at DVDdrive-in.com are trying to get people to send emails to convince the folks in charge at MGM and Fox to keep the line alive.

Derek Mears on the Drag Me to Hell red carpet They'd be insane NOT to at this point. Mears was a decent Jason from what I saw of him in clips and trailers.

Mears was a very good Jason, 'Schach. Although as DSR once said about the movie as a whole, they managed to replicate a pretty simple formula without f***ing it up too much. The same is true with the role of Jason, as I'm not one of the "OMG it ain't Kane Hodder" fans. As long as it's somebody big and brutal, I'm happy.

He reminded me a lot of Kane's Jason, with a few little quirks of his own. And to be honest, I think a lot of the "OMG it ain't Kane" crowd disappeared following FvJ. Unlike Kirzinger replacing Hodder, in which many fans were very vocal about their general distaste for the idea, I think people were more accepting of a new guy playing Jason this time around.
