Honestly, what did you expect from Raimi though, R-Man? That's always been his forte. I'm gonna go watch it Monday afternoond... ...by myself.

I was all ready to go see this one until I realized that I accidentally blew all my spending cash on DVDs. Remind me to be more careful next time

Oh, man, really? That kind of bums me out, 'Schach. I was actually very stoked to see what Raimi could do with a straight-up horror film; as everyone knows, the ED flicks just aren't my thing. So, has anybody seen it yet? And Pool man - I go to movies by myself all the time. Except animated movies. If I did that, I'd look like a pedo.

I almost spat out my coffee when I read in one review that someone actually takes....wait for it..........wait for it........ an anvil to the head, a la LOONEY TUNES. I mean, there's slapstick, and then there's that.

I'm so far behind on this thread it's not funny.
Just a few notes:
I haven't bought the Argento box, I actually still haven't see Do You Like Hitchcock?. I have the original releases for Phenomena and Tenebre, as well as the Dragon release for Phenomena (since it has some extra footage that doesn't add much to the movie...). I'm holding out though, hoping that Anchor Bay will give us some Argento on Blu Ray. The old discs that I have aren't even anamorphic, so I hardly ever throw them in anymore.
I have a friend who bought the Puppetmaster box. I'd consider it, but I'm much poorer now than I used to be. I have a hard time sitting through any of those movies after part 3.

I don't think you've missed a whole lot, Fulci. The last time I felt completely excited leaving a movie theater was after The Others...Or maybe The Ninth Gate, I can't remember which one is older. I went to the movies alone 3 times. Tales from the Crypt Bordello of Blood (hated it), Fellowship of the Ring (loved it - yup, a geek), and Land of the Dead (good movie, but can't touch Day). My wife bailed on me on the last one

Thanks. ;D

I've said before that I only REALLY like The Evil Dead, as its the most-serious picture in the trilogy. Oh, and when I was in college, I went to see movies alone a few times. I saw Hellboy, The Punisher, and Rashomon without accompaniment. Of course, now that a movie theater isn't within walking distance of where I live, just up and going to see a movie doesn't happen like it did then.

Speaking of the PM Movies I actually like part 4 and 5 I did a franchise review of that series a long time ago, and I've since re-appraised the value of the sequels in the series. Really, the only strictly GOOD movie in the franchise is the first, although Curse of the Puppet Master is cheesy good fun. I know DSR is a big fan of it, as well.

Yeah, I enjoy the first and sixth movies. I actually think PM3: Toulon's Revenge is a pretty fine motion picture, too. Damn, I still need to get parts 1 and 2 on DVD.

Pup-p-p-p-p-p-p-pet Master!
I'm stuttering because I'm afraid of being turned into a mechanical tank puppet for 5 seconds before the credits role.

I watched The Card Player from the set recently (while playing infamous) and I thought it was a okay film. While not nearly as gory as his early work I thought Argento did have an interesting and weird story. Not bad, but not one of his better works I feel. Maybe watch it if you really want to watch the man's body of work as I am doing. Next up is Do you like Hitchcock? for me...then I may order Opera and I'm not sure after that.
