Former WWE announcer and long time on-air talent for the company during the Hulkamania era "Lord" Alfred Hayes passed away this past Wednesday at age 77.
Hayes was also a pro wrestler himself, gaining a lot of attention in the 60s and 70s as a top heel. He began working for WWE in 1982 under Vince McMahon Jr. as his single British voice of the company.
For the last number of years, Hayes had been living on his own in Dallas, Texas. When a stubbed toe led to an infection, which led to gangrene, he had to have part of his leg amputated.

The guy retired due to severe arthritis got a knee replacement got hit by a car got blood poisoning as a result needed skin grafts had to have part of his spine removed lost 6" in height was basically confined to a wheelchair stubbed his toe and caught gangrene and had part of his leg amputated.
I'd say death is merciful at this point. I am truly happy that he will know no more pain.

R.I.P Lord Alfred Hayes, you will be missed. Hayes was a very funny entertainer/announcer. I remember watching Summerslam 92, he was going to try to interview both of the combatants in the WWF Title Match, Randy Savage, the Champion at the time, and the challenger, and Former WWF champion, The Ultimate Warrior, he knocked on warrior's door and it was locked, nobody answered, later on, he went up to Savage's door, this time just tried to open the door, only to have Mr Perfect, shut the door in his face, very funny segment."Well I must say, That doesn't necessarily mean that Mr Perfect was inside that dressing but, it was certainly a shocking, and vulgar act of rudeness, and now, back to ringside".A promo he cut at Summerslam 92, in London,England.

Cats are said to have 9 lives, he's no cat, but by the looks of BrianT Kessler's post, lord Alfred Hayes had 10 lives. I didn't know that Alfred Hayes lost 6 inches in height.

From goofy comedic WWF Interviewer to incredibly nasty heel wrestler, Lord Alfred was the man.
