1.0 according to PWInsider. Ruh roh... Was it running against anything special yesterday? Did a new episode of Ben 10 Alien Force premiere?

I'm really surprised. The last few weeks they've been hovering in the 1.15-1.20 area. It's a sudden drop.
Nothing that hasn't happened before with the companies ratings history, but their recent momentum was nice to see.
Who knows, they may bounce back quickly...or they'll go back to 1.1s for a while.

Indianapolis Colts made a pretty impressive comeback last night, but other than that, maybe they didnt put Christy Hemme on TV soon enough.

Had I known this was happening, I might had watched that instead... Mario Batali is one of my favorite human beings on the planet. Did he win?

Funny that last week's episode is generally criticised, yet maintains a quite high rating throughout, yet this week's is well-received and rates relatively poorly.
Perhaps what is generally favoured by the IWC is far from what more casual fans want.

That explains a lot, except for the 'doing better' part.

What's more interesting is that UFC was bumped for Jackass as the follow-up show.

It's nearly Christmas, so ratings may be down because people are busy visiting relatives, office parties, late night shopping etc.

I think I'll watch something that doesn't suck this week."

Perhaps what is generally favoured by the IWC is far from what more casual fans want. Or perhaps people didn't like what they saw last week and didn't tune in? Unless they read spoilers, people don't know what type of action will be on a particular show. They base whether they will view it on a variety of factors, one of which may be their perceived quality from the previous weeks. A big swerve isn't going to make the ratings jump on the episode it's on, it should impact the ratings the next week. Or maybe there was a rush on Hot Wheels at a New Jersey mall and a hundred or so Nielsen households didn't get home to watch it?

If people liked the show with less wrestling more, they would have tuned in from the start. Unless you read spoilers, you don't know what type of action is going to be on a show, so part of your decision to watch is going to be on how the show was before. TNA always seems to draw more people towards the main event, which makes just as much sense.
