The vote counting for the second annual Forum Awards provided the drama and action that wrestling seemed to be missing in 2008.
Only two awards saw repeat winners as WWE swept the board from top to bottom.
The Wrestler Of The Year saw last years winner Bryan Danielson score only 12 points, while the top 4 is represented by 3 international wrestlers
Tag Team Of The Year saw three makeshift teams make the top 4, while the other one finally earned the respect they were craving this time last year
Best Interview saw a few surprises as two of the top 4 weren’t even wrestling for most of 2007 and it also saw the winner claim victory by a single point
The Anti-Gooker was a 2-horse race early on, but a lot of people overlooked the storyline that finished second as number one provided some of the best interviews and matches of the year.
Match Of The Year saw 3 Edge vs Undertaker matches gain support...and none of them winning. The winning match was not the best match ever, but it will probably be remembered in the annals of time.
Worst Match Of The Year may need to be renamed TV’s Worst Match since the Top 3 all aired for free and Number 4 left us with way too many questions instead of answers.
The Hulk Hogan Award saw the same 4 guys place as last year. Will it be the same result?
Last year, the Announcer Of The Year story turned out to be Jim Ross vs Brand new announcer who never announced an entire show before taking over. This year has the same story, but can JR overcome his loss to JBL last year and take home the Forum Award.
The GTS Award was the closest voting up until the last few ballots came in. Three finishers all had a shot at winning it all, while 2 others competed for fourth. A record 52 different finishers were nominated.
Woman Of The Year saw two women compared to each other butt heads. While I, for one, would be interested in an actual match between the two, only one was voted on top.
Finally I will present the first ever Krazy E-Man Award (Much like PWI’s Editor Award) where I will singlehandedly award one person for their contributions to the wrestling world.
I will put one award up per day, just to build the suspense!

The Fabulous Moolah Award (Woman Of The Year)Winner: Beth Phoenix Points: 127 (19 first place votes) Despite having a division that many consider weaker, Beth Phoenix captures her second straight Fabulous Moolah Award. Beth held the Women’s Championship for 8 of the 12 months of the marking period and has come out on top in matches against Mickie James, Candice Michelle, Mickie James, Melina, Mickie James, Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, Maria and Mickie James. Beth is also one-half of Glamarella, her relationship with Santino Marella. While at times it seems like Beth is growing tired of her boyfriend, they remain together despite any bump in the road. First Runner Up: Awesome Kong Points: 73 (8 first place votes) TNA’s answer to the Glamazon is synonymous with the TNA Women’s Knockout Title. She has defeated pretty much every woman on the TNA roster and has looked strong doing it. She most notably has feuded with Gail Kim and ODB, which resulted in some overlooked matches at the beginning of 2008. She also competed in the Deuce’s Wild Tournament for the TNA World Tag Team Championship Second Runner Up: Mickie James Points: 42 (2 first place votes) The peppiest of the WWE Divas, who may or may not actually be in love with women, not that there’s anything wrong with that. Mickie captured her fourth WWE Women’s Title in April with a victory over Beth Phoenix. Before losing it back she defeated Beth, Melina and Katie Lea in grueling bouts both on Raw and pay per view. Third Runner Up: Sara Del Ray Points: 35 (5 first place votes) ROH makes its first appearance in the voting as Sara Del Ray finishes fourth. She’s not related to the Gigalo Jimmy Del Ray, but she is one of the few women that have become mainstays of the Indy promotion. A member of Sweet & Sour Inc., she considers herself a wrestler and not a Diva, implying that she will never go work for WWE. Others receiving votes (This does NOT include everyone): Miss Chiff, Kelly Kelly, Maryse, Portia Perez, Gail Kim, Taylor Wilde, Angelina Love and Melina Previous winners: 2007: Winner: Beth Phoenix 1st Runner Up: Mickie James 2nd Runner Up: Awesome Kong 3rd Runner Up: Gail Kim

I found the pic for the winner on Yahoo and had to include it G.T.S. Award (Best Finisher)Winner: RKO Points: 49 (8 first place votes) It has been called a Diamond Cutter and most notable has been used by one of the top heels in the business, but the RKO is one of the most effective moves in the game, and as Randy Orton has proven, can be executed from just about any situation. Orton used an RKO on the announcers table to capture his second WWE Championship in October of last year and since then that move has KO’d anyone who dares step in front of Orton. The move led to Orton tearing his shoulder in June 2008 against Triple H, but Orton was back just three months later RKOing the likes of C.M. Punk and Batista. Will 2009 prove to be the year that someone finds the Kryptonite to the RKO or will the Era of Orton continue? 1st Runner Up: Shooting Star Press Points: 44 (3 first place votes) There is a good chance that if Evan Bourne didn’t get injured last month that this move would have eeked out the win. The Shooting Star Press was reintroduced to WWE in 2008 and the man formerly known as Matt Sydal was just the man to take it to new heights. Unofficially dubbed “Air Bourne”, the SSP made Evan one of the most popular and successful wrestlers in 2008. 2nd Runner Up: Go To Sleep Points: 38 (7 first place votes) The move that captured C.M. Punk the World Heavyweight Championship fell 11 points shy of back to back victories. Punk introduced a mainstream audience to this move when he debuted it in 2007 on ECW and it quickly became his main finisher as he used it to go to the top in ECW and then in one night reach the top of Raw. 3rd Runner Up: Sweet Chin Music Points: 27 (4 first place votes) Way back in 1992 Gorilla Monsoon refered to it as a Side Crescent Kick. It was later called a Superkick and by the time Shawn Michaels won his first WWF Championship, Sweet Chin Music was born and became perhaps the quickest knockout in the business. Now, in 2008, it has kept HBK near the top of his profession and is a dangerous weapon for any challenger. Others Receiving Votes (This does NOT include everyone): God’s Last Gift, Battering Ram, Cattle Mutilation, Muscle Buster, Brain Buster, Package Piledriver, Springboard Doomsday Device and Awesome Bomb Previous Winners: 2007: Winner: GTS 1st Runner Up: RKO 2nd Runner Up: Backdrop Driver 3rd Runner Up: Canadian Destroyer

Gordon Solie Award (Best Announcer)Winner: Jim Ross Points: 122 (18 first place votes) Many feel this award is a year late, but Jim Ross has finally been acknowledged as the top announcer in the industry and has been awarded the Gordon Solie Award. Ross has been a mainstay in WWE for over 15 years and spent most of the last 11 on Raw. However in June he was drafted to be the lead announcer on SmackDown, and while this almost led to him walking out, he stayed put and greatly improved the quality of SmackDown’s announcing. Working with Jerry Lawler, Tazz and Mick Foley over this past year has made for some interesting combinations. But despite being in a year in which not a single announcer from TNA received a point the cream has most definitely risen to the top. First Runner Up: Matt Striker Points: 87 (9 first place votes) For the second straight year a newcomer to the world of broadcasting has embraced it and excelled. However, unlike his predecessor John “Bradshaw” Layfield, Striker came 35 points short of victory. Striker spent the first half of the year managing Big Daddy V, but then V was fired, Mick Foley quit and Striker took over the ECW announcing job. Striker has become one of the most critically acclaimed announcers in only 4 months. Second Runner Up: Tazz Points: 24 (1 first place vote) Straight up the South Bronx, all the way to Friday nights on My Network TV. Tazz retired as a wrestler in 2002 and became a full time announcer, where he has spent most of his time on SmackDown. In 2006 he jumped to ECW for a couple years before he was tapped as Mick Foley’s replacement. Since then his game has improved working with Jim Ross, after spending 5 months working with Mike Adamle and Todd Grisham. Third Runner Up: Joey Styles Points: 22 (3 first place votes) Oh my God! Joey left the broadcast booth for the much more secure job of running WWE.com in April, but the 5 months he was at the helm of ECW were good enough to place in the catagory. Styles has been an announcer on and off since 1993 and has become one of the most popular announcers of all time. If the voting was still going on, we may be voting for him for his one punch knockout of JBL. Others receiving votes: Mick Foley, Michael Cole, Bryce Remsburg, Jerry Lawler, Dave Prazak and Mike Adamle Previous results: 2007: Winner: John “Bradshaw” Layfield 1st Runner Up: Jim Ross 2nd Runner Up: Joey Styles 3rd Runner Up: Dave Prazak

I didn't care for Adamle, but he did make things a little more interesting , so I can see why people voted for him
