Oh, and lest I forget, it had the Hardcore Time Limit match. This was the match where, playing as Tommy Dreamer, I thwarted a Rob Van Dam frogsplash by throwing a chair at his face in midflight.

Another thing I'd like to point is is how rediculous some of the character models looked. Most were great looking while others... not so much. Randy Orton and bald Kane in particular. Randy doesn't even looke like Randy and I couldn't have been the only one who thought Kane looked like a deranged bald Al Bundy.
But I might play it again when I get my PS2 back from my brother so I can make moments like this:

Randy Orton looked like he was eight feet tall in the game. He towered over pretty much everyone, including Kevin Nash.

I especially liked how they would always show the guy you controlled getting the piss beat out of him. You would see him take chairshots and finisher after finisher, and if it showed your guy doing any offense it would be something weak like kicks or punches. |

i dont remember if this was the game or not...but i remember playing a 3 way dance no dq match i was nash, my friend ryan was benoi - i mean doink the clown...and the computer was tommy dreamer...and so my friend goes to the top rope to do the diving head but so i grab a chair and he asks me why i have a chair and i re-assure him that its just incase the opponent moves out of the way i can nail him...so he goes into finisher, does the taunt and when hes in mid air i run and smack him with the char and pin him 1 - 2 -3...i turned heel on my friend and a hogan style heel promo broke out in my living room...fun times.

The 3 Way Tag Team Ladder matches were the greatest f***ing matches me and my best friend ever played.
I am so glad I never got rid of the game.

It's probably the most fun game because it's a bit more arcade-y and less po-faced than the more realistic ones that have come since.

Damn, I want to get the game just so I can have a WWE vs TNA war. A fair amount of TNA's roster is in the game to begin with. Yeah your a Somoa Joe CAW away from the MEM. Rhino and Dr. Stevie along with it. Damn it, I wish my PS2 and a bunch of games and a memory card didn't get stolen. Because I now want to play it because I remember creating Sting, Foley, AJ, and AMW (big team at the time.) Now it more of James Storm and Brandon Walker. Maybe time to go to Gamestop and buy a copy. PS3 plays them. My buddy had it one time and we played. |
