Im not sure if its to do with wwe's safe style as i assumed that it was only dangerous impact moves which were effected... but my rant is with the sharpshooter...when bret and owen used 2 do it it looked so cool..and ever since the rock started the tred of terrible sharpshooters..EVERYONE is doing it! The rock, stone cold,benoit..all do it the same way..turn their oppnent round and basically stand straight..the guy recieving is basically lying flat on their stomach..with thir legs being ever so slightly lifted..whats wrong woth leaning back abit to make it look good! I also noticed that sting is doing this in TNA also..which is odd seeing as he used 2 do it just like bret back in WCW.Its the same with the walls of jericho..he used 2 make it look cool..pushing the knee in2 the back..then after a while he just stood over them which still looked cool...then around 2001 he strted doing it as a weak looking boston crab I know its not totally a big deal but sometimes it just looks embarrasing.

I HATE Sting's current version of the Scorpion Deathlock. Not only does it take forever for him to wave to the crowd, pump his fist, pick his nose, then finally turn it around, but then he applies NO pressure on it at all. He sort of crosses the opponent's ankles and screams. He doesn't even crouch at all, which might be a result of bad knees, but if that's the case, he should stop doing it. Same with the Scorpion Death Drop. I'm not buying a weak-looking reverse DDT as a finisher.

Yeah, it probably is some "don't hurt the wrestler's backs" thing, but on the plus side its still sold as a killer move, and the fans still treat it as such. Hey, at least its not went the way of the DDT. Yet.

yeah i hate the way the rock used 2 scream when he applied it...he looked in more pain the the guy on the recieving end..it wouldnt be as bad if he was in an awkwd position but hes not even crouched in any way

The applier of a Scorpion Deathlock should not be look he's bending over to be anally penetrated, but should be sitting down.
In other words, to properly apply the Scorpion Deathlock is very similar to the proper form of squatting. You should NEVER make your back parellel to the ground when squatting, but rather, try to keep it more perpendicular to the ground.

The way I see it... When Bret and Owen did the Sharpshooter, they would hold their opponent in place practically by their knees. When Benoit or Sting (recently) do it. They hold their opponent by the ankles.

I hate how jericho does the walls...i always wished hed do it like he used 2 in wcw and his early wwe days..its funny how they have each version he did in smackdown vs raw..u can see how lame looking they get... the sharpshooter on one hand..maybe it is something 2 do with them bending down..they may have had knee injuries over the years so may b harder..but the walls doesnt need crouching.

If you want to see a proper Liontamer, watch some of Roderick Strong's matches from Ring of Honor.

it's about protecting the wrestler's bodies. The Sharpshooter puts a ton of pressure on your back and knees when you sit down in it. They don't want people being more hurt than they need to be.

Bret feels the same way about it. I remember when he was on 'Byte this' he kind of nicely said that everyone does it horribly now.

1- Overuse 2- Poor execution 3- No build up to the move
