Im not sure if its to do with wwe's safe style as i assumed that it was only dangerous impact moves which were effected... but my rant is with the sharpshooter...when bret and owen used 2 do it it looked so cool..and ever since the rock started the tred of terrible sharpshooters..EVERYONE is doing it! The rock, stone cold,benoit..all do it the same way..turn their oppnent round and basically stand straight..the guy recieving is basically lying flat on their stomach..with thir legs being ever so slightly lifted..whats wrong woth leaning back abit to make it look good! I also noticed that sting is doing this in TNA also..which is odd seeing as he used 2 do it just like bret back in WCW.Its the same with the walls of jericho..he used 2 make it look cool..pushing the knee in2 the back..then after a while he just stood over them which still looked cool...then around 2001 he strted doing it as a weak looking boston crab I know its not totally a big deal but sometimes it just looks embarrasing. Same as the DDT that was exclusively Jake Roberts' and that they wanted to "ban" because it was "so dangerous". Or Jerry Lawler's piledriver, also was supposed to be "banned". Before wrestlers started creating fantastic finishers, these were the impressive finishers...but over time, with moves like The Stunner or Rock Bottom. everybody and their stunt granny does DDTs, piledrivers, and sharpshooters. It's just the evolution of the business.

It looked good back then, especially when Bret applied it to someone with more natural flexibility. He worked that to his advantage to make the move look good.
When I examine's Bret's sharpshoorter and the way the legs are crossed, it looks the move had potential to injust the opponent more. Of course, the back was bent back and the abdomonals were stretched. In additon to that, the left quadracep was being stretched, and the opponent's right shin was a fulcrum which the oponent's left calf/lower leg was being bent against, providing much pain to the knee area as well. It had potential to cause major ligament damage to the knee. The weak version is just a sit manuever with the ankles crossed. May was well do a boston crab, it'd be more effective than the weak shooter.

Sometimes i don't understand the need to ban elevated submission finishers. I also don't understand the need to do them weakly or sloppily. elevated submission finishers last for a couple of seconds before the opponent gives up and is released. the only time they're put on long is if it were in a major match.

No, Trish and other T&A models can't wrestle.
Don't confuse "Divas" with female wrestlers.

Worst. Sharpshooter. EVER. Nah. Someone should post a picture of the Rock doing it. I just to get a kick out of the faces he did.
