I'm trying to remember the last time I saw an effective looking Sharpshooter. I know it was recently, but I'll be damned if I can remember exactly where it was.

Bret used to sit right on his opponent's back nowadays when guys lock it in they're kinda standing up.

The one Shawn Michaels put on Hogan, which was at their Summerslam match is probably one of the worst of all time.

Yeah that was SOOOOOOOO BAD, he didn't even have both legs locked & Hogan kinda just held one led in the air, lol.
The best on though was probably Bret on Austin at 'Mania.

How was Trish's sharpshooter on Lita? I haven't seen the match or any photos.

Stings version drives me nuts, my grandma could apply it better.
I don't think it's to protect the oppenent. I think guys are just dumb and don't know how to do it properly.

The sharpshooter (or reverse figure four as Schiavone called it) that Ronnie Garvin applied to Greg The Hammer Valentine at SummerSlam 89 was pretty good. He didn't sit back like the Hitman, he just stood there but it still looked pretty intense.

Best Sharpshooter I ever saw was the one Bret put on Mr. Perfect at SummerSlam '91. He leaned so far back that it looked like he was going to snap Perfect's spine.

He did one on Owen once too ( I think in their cage match) that was pretty badass looking. The Rock always seemed......constipated looking to me, when he did the Sharpshooter.

I think we need one guy to have an excellent submission finisher that looks like they are applying pressure.
Every submission nowadays looks like they get a guy in a lock and doesn't apply any pressure whatsoever. Except Angle's Ankle Lock. He does that pretty good.
Maybe someone should bring back the cloverleaf?

That's a Half Boston Crab though. Not exactly the same thing. It's a sharphooter. See the boot. Or am i seeing things? I see it too. The second one is definitely a Sharpshooter. You can see Orton's legs crossed, and his left leg is behind Benoit's right knee. In regards to a proper Lion Tamer, god bless the Strong Hold.
