Quite frankly, I think it's going to be s***. Between Kirstin Stewarts 'acting' and Rob Pattinson as a s***ty vampire, it's going to be awful. I think my sister would like me to go see it with her and I'm only going as it features Taylor Lautner, who in my opinion, is a lot better looking than 'R Pattz.' The cinema will be packed with Twilight fangirls though which is a rather depressing fact. We share much the same problem it would seem. My neices (11 and 13) LOVE Twilight, loved the first movie and are counting the days until the second one comes out. I know they'll beg me to take them to see it, which means I can either say no and save my sanity, but be an asshole for makng them sad, or I can go, bite my tongue, then cry later for what cannot be unseen. Exactly, it's like I do want to make my sister happy happy as we've been at each others throats the past few months and we rarely spend time that's not spent at home or bumping into each other at school, but no way am I paying £6+ for a ticket at the cinema to see a movie I am certain is going to be crap. And if I do moan about it, she'll get the impression that I hated spending time with her and it'll upset her, which would make me feel so guilty. I am curious about the movie, but I am NOT sitting through 90minutes+ of stupid teenage girls squealing whenever Edward or Jacob comes on, because I know in the worst case scenario I'll end up telling them to shut the f*** up and that's not good for anyone.

Not to mention they'd chuck me out the cinema

Could you not take them to the movie and pay for their tickets and such but then you go watch another movie? That's what I used to do with my younger brother and his friends. They would want to go watch something that I had no desire to watch so I'd pay for his ticket and then I'd get one for something else as long as they pretty well evened out time wise. Now granted, where I live isn't full of crime and such so if you live in a bad area,I may not recommend that. However,if it's a decent enough place, that may be an option unless your sister wouldn't like that. My brother didn't care if I watched it with him or not as long as I took him to it. It also depends on how old your sister is. My brother was around 14 or 15 when I would do that but I wouldn't have done it if he was say,7 or 8.

Well, I think I have a way to resolve any Twilight-related stress/anger/insanity.
When the new Twilight movie is out, go around and spoil the ending to any nearby Twilight fans.
...on the other hand, that requires either reading the book, or watching the movie, and there's the fact the most watching already know what's going to happen, so... this method might hurt you instead. I say endure the brain hurt, and may Yog-Sothoth have mercy on your soul. In fact, go find the Necronomicon, or the complete copy of the play The King in Yellow. The insanity it will bring shall make your forget about everything.

I know I said in the thread earlier that I would watch the first Twilight movie when it was featured on one of my movie channels. Now after watching that Rifftrax clip of it, I'm really beginning to regret my earlier statement.

Twilight is a lot of fun to watch with Rifftrax because it reminds me of one of those crappy B-films shown on MST3K, just with a bigger budget.

Not that I begrudge some fan fun with stuff like that, but, yeesh. Then again, when fans of almost anything are young, they tend to have little ticks like that, things like pulling for a character to end up with a specific love interest, even if it doesn't make sense or have to happen, just because said fan likes the other character...basically, what Meyer did with her own story by taking a character (the Jacob kid) and making him unlikeable once she realized he was probably a better choice for her protagonist than her "chosen one". Mary Sue fanfiction at it's worst, and she did it with her own source material.Isn't there a TV Trope about fandom that focuses on stuff like this? The only one I really have any experience with are Sonic the Hedgehog fans...you haven't seen pathetic until you've experienced "SonAmy" fans getting into fights with "SonSal" fans.

I will bet anything that those two comments were left by women over 40 years old. I also see these shirts being worn by teenage girls in Walmart, while they thumb through the latest US WEEKLY issue about the ever-so FASCINATING exploits of "Bob" and "Kristen". EL BARFO.

That Rifftrax was one of my favorite things that those fellows have done, simply hilarious.

I am dreading this movie, yet I am really looking forward to the inevitable Rifftrax. The Twilight Rifftrax were absolutely hilarious, and I can only imagine how good the New Moon ones will be.
What I can't wait for is the Eclipse Rifftrax.

Don't think that I'm attacking any of you for having an opinion (I'm not), but for those who couldn't care less about the Twilight franchise, or its fanbase...why pay so much attention to it and focus so much on why you hate it?
I guess my perception might be skewered since I've never read any of the books, seen any of the films or had any of my friends be Twilight die-hards, but the backlash to this is very unusually calculated, even by the standards of most fads. People that were sick of Pokemon and Harry Potter when they first debuted didn't rant and rave about their hate as much as those who are tired of Twilight now.
It's one thing to not get it, but to get mad at people for loving it? That's very befuddling to me, even if the fanbase is "rabid". There are plenty of things I find sucky/abysmal and don't understand the appeal of, but I choose to ignore them. Unless a girlfriend's dragging you to it, what's the big problem?
